We were staying at the Dockside Inn so this restaurant was just across the parking lot so we decided to try it and we were not sorry. The restaurant is on the water although we did not eat on the patio because the weather was not good. The food was delicious. I had the duck, which was an entire half... More

The food was excellent. We had lobster and swordfish and both were outstanding. We ate out on the porch with a great view of the harbor. The staff was very friendly and service was excellent

The food was 50% good: one entree was fine (swordfish) and the other (short ribs) was fatty and cold. But the attitude of the owner, Philip, was worse -- arrogant and condescending. It reflects poorly on the Dockside Guest Quarters, as well. Please put prices on your 'specials' menu, Philip. If your customers are confused or mislead by how your... More

Our family's Maine experience is highlighted with Dockside memories. From decades of after-church Sunday lunches, to rehearsal dinners, to reunion luncheons and more, Dockside always delivers the finest meals, service, scenery, and overall joy! Our recent ladies luncheon in their semi-private room overlooking the harbor was no exception. The Dockside staff was attentive to detail in helping us celebrate a... More

Stumbled upon this restaurant and it was perfect, view of the harbor, nice ambience, great food and great service. We arrived without a reservation and they just had a cancellation, lucky us! I had the lobster, scallops in a whisky cream sauce and it did not disappoint.

Dockside has a lovely harbor side location and great views. Eating on the porch is lovely. Salads and seafood are great. Lots of weddings and parties here. One downside: it can be a bit noisy. All of the staff are terrific. Great neighborhood casual summer place.

Went before theatre and ate on the porch. Delightful scenery and air. Had the haddock from daily specials and it was slightly over cooked. The swordfish (also daily specials) not cooked thru and cold in center. Waitstaff had a dirty shirt on but was very eager to please. Wine menu was adequate, would return.

We had an early dinner here on a Sunday night and dinned on the outside porch. The sun was starting to set so the light was beautiful overlooking the harbor. The food was ok nothing great but the staff was fabulous and the place was charming and authentic.

We ate at the Dockside Restaurant several times while staying at the Dockside Guest Quarters for four weeks. The food and service are very good. The screened-in outdoor patio is wonderful. Great views of the harbor! Highly recommend.

I love sandwiches! The blue cheese BLT at Dockside (first visit) today is right up there with the best sandwich I have ever had. Amazing bacon piled high with yellow and red heirloom tomatoes on toasted raisin bread was outstanding. I was told the tomatoes were right out of the Dockside's garden. Good service, beautiful view! A treat for the... More

Description
The approach to the Dockside Restaurant is all part of the Dockside’s charm. You are treated to views of the York River and the grand “summer cottages” as you turn onto Harris Island Road to reach Dockside Restaurant.

The view is quintessential Maine, people hustling up and down the docks, gleaming yachts and colorful lobster boats in front of a rock and pine-tree shore.

Dockside’s recent renovation is perfect, warm and comfortable. Hardwood floors, European style lighting floor to ceiling window and a new mahogany bar with an adjoining outdoor cocktail deck. During warm months seating is available on our harbor view screen porch. The atmosphere is casual but the food is serious.

Chef Dennis la Planet has been recognized as a “chef’s chef”. North Atlantic seafood prepared with a northern Italian influence and aged steaks are just the start. Lunch features organic salads, creative sandwiches and traditional favorites; fish and chips, chowders and fried clams too.
