Headed up US-1, I came to Anthony's Food Shop when I was ready for a late lunch.
Inside, I was surprised at the size of the operation. There was a whole sizable nook for coffee service, a deli sandwich counter, a large pizza area, and central cashiers.
Anthony’s was proud of its Woodstone Fire Deck Stone Hearth Oven that baked its award winning pizza.
I ordered a slice of Cheese Pizza. With tax, it was $3.24.
Outside, I ate at one of half a dozen picnic tables.
The slice of pizza filled the box designed for a small pizza. I’d call the portion generous. Consequently, for the price, I'd call it a great value.
The pizza was very good. It had a fair amount of sauce to keep the pizza moist. There was an ample amount of cheese on top. The crust was cooked all the way through without being burnt anywhere. The taste was great.
I rate my experience at Anthony's Food Shop at 4.50, my highest rating for fast food.
There’s a bonus here. Anthony’s building is located on the same grounds as a Shell gasoline station, so one can tank up, too.

We stopped in for a quick lunch today and it was slammed busy with vacationers but the workers moved quickly and efficiently. Another customer picked up our order by mistake, and the manager and staff went well out of their way to get us our food quickly and even threw in a couple desserts. THANK YOU!! Everything was amazing as usual. We tried the steak tip sub and Italian sub, both were excellent and very fresh! Can't wait to go back and try more things! Would give Anthony's Food Shop 10 stars

The GF whoopie pies are absolutely amazing here. This place has a gourmet coffee shop, oven-fired pizza, bakery, deli items, etc. This is a great little place. My city slicker friends all love this gem.

We called Anthony's for a pizza delivery on a Sunday evening. Getting through via phone took about 10 minutes. We ordered a large extra cheese, extra sauce, black olives and half pepperoni half sausage. Delivery time was as promised, however the pizza did not have extra sauce, extra cheese or black olives. We tried to call back and could not get through, so we gave up. We would only get a pizza delivery from Anthony's in the future if we were desperate for delivery and then cross our fingers that they get it right. Pizza was only so-so.

I was a customer at Anthony's for years but hadn't been there since around 2019. They used to have the best sandwiches! They were overstuffed, heavy sandwiches made with love, (IMO). Yesterday I ordered a large turkey sandwich and the bread was dry and stale, the turkey was a bit lacking in portion, and my husband wasn't happy with the sandwich we split. It was average, but not the wonderful. The other thing that really bothers me is when paying with a credit card customers are asked how much you want to tip. Okay, I haven't had the food yet and the service isn't even complete. Who am I even tipping, the guy that made the sandwich or the girl that rang my order in? These are not servers that are making 2.00 an hour and waiting on you, these are employees probably making 12.00 an hour, why are they asking for a tip? Tipping comes from service satisfaction, it isn't something asked for and esp. asked for in advance. Maybe I got the stale bread and light turkey portion because I didn't tip. I don't know if the sandwich guy receives that info but I wondered that as I waited. R.I.P. to the old Anthony's., you were the best around. The place is okay, it's in a needed location for travelers and I wish them the best, but I am personally disappointed.

This is a nice place to go to for a quick bite . It has a good selection of pizza , sandwiches, cakes, pies. The service seems O.K. but i was a little disappointed since my pizza did not seem as fresh as I expected. The pricing seems to be off also. I was charged a bit more than I expected. You know how people talk about tourist towns and the ability to price the tourist differently. I may be wrong but most likely it is expected when you are a tourist. This is not the only place that does this in this town.

Our group tried the pizza, not too too bad. Then tried the chili, bland and watery. Lastly tried macaroni and cheese. It was gross. Out of our group of 6 we all concluded that the dinners were pretty tasteless. Unfortunately we ended up tossing out the chili and Mac and cheese after a few bites. We all got a different dessert. They may look good in the case but beware. The only dessert worth getting is the pumpkin pie. All dinners and desserts are expensive.

Sometimes we get 'sefooded out' and need a change. We got take out two different nights during our October vacation and both nights were excellent.
The ladies on the phone are very professional and thorough!
This was my first time actually going in to pick-up and WOW! This place is so busy and has all hands on deck working! It was nice to be remembered by an employee that they have working there from Fishermen's Dock!
The food was great. One night we hadpizzas and salads. The second night we had meatball subs, chicken salad and cheeseburger subs. Fries and mozzarella sticks are still very good.
We will return!

We love this food shop for its groceries, prepared foods, fresh sandwiches, pizza, breakfasts, baked goods, tea, and coffee! You can get it all here and everything we’ve tried has been excellent for dine-in or takeout. On different visits we’ve had the Greek salad and Portabello panini sandwich (YUM) to take back to the hotel, and also dined in for really great cold brew coffee, a London Fog tea, and from the bakery a cream horn. Delicious afternoon snack! Lots of parking out front and the staff is so nice. Highly recommend!

I visit Anthony’s often and love the cappuccino as well as pastry’s. This is also a great place to get Pizza or sandwiches. The ingredients are what make this place stand out. The people working here are amazing, considering what we are going through right now. I should ad, they do a great job cleaning and keeping people safe during this pandemic.

Anthony’s has excellent variety. Cheeseburgers, Reuben panini, chicken fingers, pizza, and onion rings were super tasty. That was 2 nights of dinner. We went back partly because many restaurants had reduced hours but mostly because it is a great place to grab a bite. Chocolate chip cookie was good. Whoopie pie was unbelievably delicious! The cream filling was fluffy and light. Better than the Whoopies in Amish country, and those are pretty good!

This is our go to place on vacation when it's stormy!
We had pizza, italian subs, french fries and mozzarella sticks delivered.
The pizza was awesome, the subs very generous and fries and mozz sticks so good!
Driver called to let me know he was five minutes out and was wearing a mask.

Having Anthony’s less than a mile from us has been very good. My wife and I wanted pizza for dinner, looked at the Anthony’s menu, and called it in for pickup. We decided to try a different pizza that we had not ordered in the past. We wound up getting the sweet ricotta pizza. It was excellent, and we will definitely keep it in mind for future pizza.

We got sandwiches to go from here. They were great. The bread was outstanding and the amount of filling was huge. I got a ham sub and my husband had the hot eggplant Parm. A family member got a salad that looked delicious. We’d definitely stop again.

Sometimes you need something other than seafood in Maine!
That's where Anthony's comes in.
This place is a gold mine, always busy with take-out and delivery!
My brother had a cheese pizza and I had an Italian sub.
Both delicious!
For dessert we had the giant chocolate chip cookies. SO GOOD!
You can tell that they are super busy but everyone on the phone and in person were super nice!
