Didn't get a reservation, so sat at the bar for dinner. Which was delicious! They do it right whether or not you have reservations or just walk in. But for a sure table call ahead!

We've eaten at some of the best award winning restaurants in Portland, Maine and we can tell you that Joshua's is by far the best culinary experience we've ever had in Maine. During our last visit, we experienced the best Maine Mussels; prepared in a blue-cheese, cream and butter sauce that was so delicious, we devoured every last drop. Do... More

We went for dinner on a Thursday in late September and had made our reservation on Tuesday - do reserve early. Greeting was friendly and we were offered the choice of the room next to the bar or another room, which we chose because it was quieter. Service was great, attentive but not hovering. For starter I had the fire... More

This restaurant is our new favorite in the area. We had the tenderloin & mushrooms for an appetizer , both done to perfection. I had the duck, my husband had the lamb for dinner. It was probably the best duck I've ever had & the lamb was to die for! Dessert was blueberry pie & fudge pie with homemade mint... More

Joshua's has occasionally been criticized for rarely changing its menu and it's true. That reason and the difficulty in getting a reservation at a reasonable time has kept my wife and me from coming here more often. However, our dinner tonight proved that if you want to be sure of having a fine meal at a reasonable price with excellent... More

We're here in Maine, Wells actually, all summer (6th year) and alternate cook-in/eat-out. We pretty much figure we won't get to our favortie places (easily) until after Labor Day. During the season, getting in to Joshua's is rare, we like the bar. Whenever we can get in, the Swordfish is outstanding (as a special) and the stuffed chicken is my... More

If you like fresh, well-prepared and savory food then you must make time to dine at Joshua's. Their farm to table philosophy is well executed. They pay special attention to seasonal delights and the pairing of foods and flavors that make your taste-buds feel like a child on Christmas morning! Reservations are recommended, but worth the wait if you choose... More

Joshua's Restaurant & Bar occupies a restored colonial home that was originally built in 1774. Joshua's is not an ordinary restaurant; Joshua's is an extraordinary restaurant! The vegetables, herbs, apples, pears and eggs used in cooking are from their own organic farm. As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a charming hostess who directed us to our table.... I eat in good restaurants every week. This one is a five star for me. The bread is addictive, the duck excellent and a great cave à vin. Go for it!

A wonderful meal of lobster casserole, fresh vegetables, and key lime pie. Simply delicious. And I must not forget the incredible homemade bread.
