Joshua's is a must if you really enjoy great food & flavors. We were just there on Sept.22 , 2020 and my wife & I both had the Haddock with caramelized onion crust topping & wild mushroom risotto. My only words are O.M G. trust...me on this - however you must make a reservation at least 2 weeks or so before going there for they are always busy ! We make reservations every year when we come to Maine and the food has always been 5 stars !!! The homemade breads are Sooooo Good - and the desserts are very good also - Most of the food served is from farm to table for they grow most of there own vegetables.More

This is our favorite restaurant in Maine. The food is outstanding and is always perfect. My favorite (if I have to choose) is the gnocchi in their tomato sauce. They are heavenly pillows of delightfulness that melt in your mouth. Their cocktails are spot on...and the staff are so friendly. Their anadama bread is so wonderful and I know that whatever we order will be perfectly delicious.More

One of the best meals we have had in a long time! Everything was excellent from the bread basket to entrees. For an appetizer, we had crab cakes-good size portion for 2. Entrees of haddock and duck were both perfectly cook. Even though we had...outside dining, plates arrived hot to the table. Speaking of outside dining- Joshuas does it well. They have a tent but took care to block the view of the parking lot, decorated it with plants, white lights, carpeting and space heaters ready to be turned on if needed. Service was excellent. Unfortunately, we were too full to order dessert-maybe next time.More

Joshua's was recommended by the concierge at our hotel, and it was definitely a hit. We dined outside under a spacious tent and had a delicious meal. We started with wood-grilled mushrooms tossed in truffle butter and a spicy sauteed shrimp in a white wine...butter. Both were so delicious, we sopped up every last bit of the butter sauce with fresh bread. The chicken stuffed with Proscuitto, provolone, and lemon was one of my all-time favorite chicken dishes. Just bursting with flavor. My husband also enjoyed the stuffed rack of lamb. We were too full for dessert, but there were many good choices.More

We ordered crab cakes, steak app, lobster pot pie and haddock. The appetizers were plate-licking good, but the lobster pot pie stole the show. WOW! Very high standards to accommodate COVID restrictions.

we have been trying to get reservations for quite a few years. you have to plan your reservations in advance. The food and service were excellent! i would say it’s the best restaurant in the area. they have a tried and true menu and 2...specials. i had the Atlantic Haddock. excellent with mushroom risotto. others enjoyed the pork (very moist and tender) the salmon and duck. all winners. recommend highly. improvements could be make to their reservation system. they need open table. many phone calls back and forth and the cell service is horrific. Nonetheless it’s a real culinary treat. ps. spices, veggies are grown on their own farm.More

We dined here while visiting the area. The food was delicious but especially the bread. They serve from their own garden. Amazing tomatoes! We also had the cavatelli and the lamb - both outstanding. But save room for dessert and hope they have the blueberry...pie!More

We visited Joshua’s for the first time last week. It was a hot evening, but their outside tent was perfect. Carpeting on the floor, lights, flowers, mosquito netting, and fans made the space elegant and romantic. The tables were spaced out so it felt very...private. The waitress, Savannah, was outstanding...professional, friendly and efficient. Cocktails were served and then our food began to arrive. From the incredible bread basket to the appetizers of chicken skewers and the most amazing tomato salad with buratta and their own farm fresh tomatoes, we knew we were in the right place. We had the lamb and salmon for entrees and both were presented and cooked to perfection. The flavors were exquisite. We finished the meal with creme brûlée and homemade mint chocolate chip ice cream in which I could taste the fresh mint used to make it. Joshua’s was truly one of the best meLs I have ever eaten will definitely be a must do when in Wells.More

We had a wonderful meal and experience at Joshua’s. The outdoor tent restaurant was creative and lovely. Everything from the fresh baked bread to the duck pate, rack of lamb and duck was exceptional. The veggies were from the garden 💓 The strawberry rhubarb pie...baked in house was delicious. We will definitely return when we come back to Maine!More

I've never seen anything but their lobster pie on the menu, but that is a frequent special. Seriously, if you want their best dish, it's the onion crusted haddock.
