Nothing fancy or pretentious about Moody's - just GREAT Down East food and deserts. Best to order seafood, New England boiled dinner or pot roast - however, do not forget a Whoopie Pie for desert - they are the best!!!

I have eaten here more than once and keep coming back for more. The food, breakfast, lunch or dinner, is always homemade, delicious and very reasonably priced with generous servings. If you want go old fashioned cooking for the family, or just meeting up with a friend, this is a great place to eat. The desserts are excellent and include homemade... More

Moody's used to be a wonderful diner where you could stop and get a cheap homemade meal. Not any more. I ordered a chef salad with chicken and it came with two packets of Ken's packaged salad dressing and the salad was awful. The chicken parmesan sub tasted like it came out of a jar of sauce. The cheese sausage... More

Moody's is a fun place, not a great restaurant. I've certainly had better omelets and toast, but for diner fare it's fine. The homemade donuts are fantastic and the atmosphere is like a throw back Thursday. Convenient, right on Rte 1, and an icon in the midcoast area. A must stop if only for the fun walk down memory lane.

I stop in for breakfast. Eggs, bacon, toast, home fries, coffee and orange juice...consistently good. There is never an off morning. My only wish is that they served a richer, darker, more flavorful coffee. I sit in the corner of the bar reading the paper and listening to the conversations of old guys who probably can't recall a time when... More

We stop here to or from Rockland Maine. There's usually a table or a place at the center. The food is average but plentiful. The main dishes come with wonderful biscuits, though the food itself sometimes lacks something. Stick to basics. Sometimes the fired fish is overcooked. The pies however are amazing. The selection is broad, all are homemade and... More

My husband and I have been doing to Moodys dinner since our honeymoon over 45 years ago. No matter what we have the food and service is always good. Price is fair and never a long wait to be seated. Nice to know some things stay the same.

Went here twice in 2 days. Seated immediately and water brought. Menu is extensive, and portions are huge. The seafood platter can barely be lifted. Enough for 2 for sure! 3 kinds of soup, 15 kinds of pie. Start with dessert! Biscuits are excellent, and bought some to bring home. Sweet potato fries that are the best I have ever... More

We always come here for breakfast when we stay in Brunswick - it is a drive of about 40 minutes but it is well worth it. Bacon, sausage, 2 eggs overeasy, white toast and coffee while my wife had the blueberry pancakes. Treated her to a special Moody's diner go mug which she unfortunately dropped the next day while walking... More

Located on Route 1 (the classic north – south route on the east coast), Moody’s Diner captures the historical greatness of “diner eating in America”. Simply stated, this is an awesome place to dine. It is home cooking away from home. The menu choices are outstanding and the food served is food the way it is supposed to be, home... More
