I drove out of my way in early December to shop the imported goodies and to a grab some hot German comfort food that I heard so many good things about. Truth be told, I have been trying to get to Morse's for years now but I am usually passing through Waldoboro on my way to somewhere else and unable... More

Somehow, I had never heard of this place before. Drove by yesterday & husband & I decided to visit this afternoon. What a cool place! Pickles, Deli, Cheeses, Restaurant, Condiments of all sorts, Candy, Beer, Wine, & SO MUCH MORE!! If you're in the area, it is a must go! We had lunch too, & it was THE BEST Rueben... More

I don't like sauerkraut. I haven't eaten in their restaurant. I go out to Morse's because of their large selection of specialty items like mustard, cookies, sausages, beer, and well, I could create quite a list. The point is Morse's is not a one trick pony. Stop in. I bet you'll leave with something you'll find unusual in our area... More

We had a wonderful lunch in this tiny eatery with 5 tables. Make sure you put your name on the list as soon as you get there, then wander in the specialty food store filled with European goodies while you wait to be called. We built a plate from their individual servings - sauerkraut, red cabbage kraut, German potato salad,... More

Small place so get there early even tho it is out in the country - breakfast is the best meal in my opinion - very good German food with a good selection - great service and prices are reasonable. Their store attached has a amazingly wide variety of gourmet type cheeses and other non-grocery store foods. Has a good following... More

Wonderful setting, excellent wait staff, very diverse deli meats along with the European candies/cakes,great coffee/red sky from Bar Harbor, canned goods, etc. Sandwiches were disappointing only two slices of Pastrami-granted this is Maine and not Brooklyn-but come on 2 slices. The Kraut Balls despite the name are delicious.

Morse's Kraut House is almost a hidden gem in Maine. When my husband, daughter, and I first moved to Maine in 1989, we made the wonderful discovery of Morse's. It has changed quite a bit since then. The products available now are amazing, but our visits are all about the kraut. It is totally different from any other kraut. Fresh,... More

Primary reason for being is to make wonderful Morris's sauerkraut. They also have half a dozen tables where you can order from the kitchen and eat. And there is a nice store next to the restaurant we can buy not only their sauerkraut but many other German – based foods.

My third visit and always excellent. Biggest challenge is deciding between breakfast and lunch. The reuben omelette and blintzes are are special. Order a variety and share. After eating stock up in the euro market and deli - bring a cooler!

Let me start by saying I stumbled across this is place in the planning stages of our family trip to Maine. Had it not been for our family's heritage and love of German food, we may not have figured it was worth a stop, but it would have been wonderful even without our love of things German. This is both... More
