Let me start by saying I stumbled across this is place in the planning stages of our family trip to Maine. Had it not been for our family's heritage and love of German food, we may not have figured it was worth a stop, but it would have been wonderful even without our love of things German. This is both... More

We stopped by for some kraut and ended up trying several different entrees. The servings are large and quite good. The restaurant seating area is rather small yet quaint. It was a fun experience and I would go back again.

A trip to Morse's for a delectable Reuben, served with a pretzel and pickles on the side, used to be a highlight of our trips to Maine. Under new ownership, Morse's can no longer bask in its former glory. The Reubens we had today were disasters, each consisting of a flabby, fleshy, tasteless mass of meat-like substance that bore no... More

Went here on a beautiful fall day. The drive into this remote restaurant was stunning. The German restaurant and store is kinda awesome. Lots of product that you don't normally see. Various pickle samples. We ended up choosing the half sours. So good. The restaurant was fun too. Small room only five tables so we had to wait but it... More

Morse’s is best known for its German-oriented market, particularly the sauerkraut and pickles. While you’re shopping, though, think about having lunch during the week (except Wednesdays) or weekend brunch. The adjunct serving area, just a few small booths to the side of the market, is rustic but comfortable. The kitchen does a fantastic job with all its offerings – eggs,... More

A great selection of imported German Groceries and Chocolates. They also sell European style meats and international cheeses. The creative luncheon menu includes much more than just sauerkraut. We enjoyed good German inspired sandwiches. (American style) (no wine or beer with lunch.) (not open face) A good value considering you cannot get these goodies anywhere else in New England

Morse's is a weird place with some excellent food and service. We stick to the superb reubens so I can't comment on the other menu items.

My Dad and I stopped here last Saturday after hearing from his co-worker how good it was. We've been wanting to try it a few times but either arrived after they closed or we'd just missed lunch hour. Never tried German food and this was by far the best meal I've had at any restaurant. Ordered spaetzle with Jager schnitzel... More

We had a reuben (just fair) with Rotkraut (not even fair) and spretzle ( poorer than any we've had in Germany. Compared to our last visit a year or 2 ago, which was outstanding, this time was mediocre. Service was great as always and we love the little booths.
