Casual, walk up and order service. The fried haddock is fantastic, the seafood chowder thin but very tasty, the lobster roll was adequate.

My wife and I had the pleasure of dinner here three nights in a row while in Vinalhaven. The menu definitely offers something for everyone and offering beer and wine was a definite plus. Place your order at the counter, sit back and enjoy the view of Carvers Pond and wait to hear the server calling out your name. Raise... More

Two couples are visiting in the Camden, Maine, area and we took a day trip to Vinalhaven. We thought we'd spend several hours in the small fishing community but ended up just having lunch. Three haddock sandwiches, hold the havarti, a lobster roll (slight bit of mayonnaise), and a tasty seafood chowder, and we were ready to take the ferry... More

We dined at the Hahbah Gawkah, probably 6 times during our 8 days on Vinalhaven. Placing the order seemed, at least on their end, seemed rather cumbersome. I understand they are busy as it is July, so this can be overlooked. I'm a huge chowder fan. I enjoyed their clam and seafood chowders. Although in one instance my chowder seemed... More

Love it! Good food. good service. Nice place to hang out and meet other fellow travelers. They now serve wine and beer. They also have a separate window for ice cream and milkshakes. It is a great hang out to get the local gossip, even if you're not a local. They also have in door and outdoor setting. E N... More

We like fried seafood and ate here today inside because of the rain instead of at the food truck down the road. Big mistake. We had the fish and chips with a cup of clam chowder. Although served hot the chowder was thin, black spots on the potatoes, tuff chewy clams. But the fried fish started fighting back within about... More

Our group enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Harbor Gawker. The location is great and the food is tasty. We enjoyed the fish & chips, haddock sandwich & fish tacos.

We were told that the Gawker is famous for fried food, but we are both trying to "eat healthy." I had a crabmeat wrap which was delicious and huge - ended up taking half of it home for lunch the next day. My friend had broiled haddock, also a large portion, tender and flaky. Both crab and haddock were caught-this-morning... More

Took a ferry excursion over to Vinalhaven and only had an hour here. Got a turkey baguette roll with pesto mayo which came with a side and was delicious. My husband had the fish and chips which were hot and fish was beautifully flakey. Price was reasonable (around $30 for both of us with 2 beers and a coke) Got... More

Went there for a late lunch. Nice place and kind of homey. You place your order at a counter and they deliver to your table. Had seafood (fried clams, scollops, lobster role, seafood chowder ). Lobster role was a bit small but was excellent. The fried food was ok but nothing to write home about. Seafood chowder was average. Expected... More
