We had a delicious meal while watching all the fishing boats in the bay. The homes on the hillside circle the water and the whole area looked like a perfect fishing village. It was quite beautiful. Oh, did I mention the food was delicious and service fast, efficient and friendly. Cost was reasonable. Plenty of wine and beer selections too.

I came here three years ago and first stop was Fisherman's Friend for some delicious steamers. I came back to replay that memory and it was so good, I ordered another bowl. It is more of a casual menu. Great staff! Wish I could have tried more but I could only eat so much lobster...

We went to Fishermans Friend on. Sat night. There was 8 of us. We had a small wait but that was to be expected. The bartender was very good. When we got to the table the waitress was amazing and had good recommendations. I had a halibut special that was amazing. Every one on the table was very happy with... More

We stopped in to Fisherman's Friend for lunch after a morning of kayaking nearby. We had a fairly large group and threw several curve balls at the staff, but they accommodated us cheerfully. Our waitress, in particular, did an amazing job. Our meals ranged from salads to seafood to burgers and everything was delicious. Nice selection of draft beer, too.... More

Waited 30 minutes to be seated at one of the dozen empty tables. Ordered a few drinks and chowder. Waited a while to order out fish and chips, but chowder and fish and chips came at the same time. Waitress said "sorry" and dropped all off at the same time. Chowder was good, but at $10 for a small cup,... More

Great fried haddock sandwich, great burgers, soups... all the food was excellent. Nice view of the harbor (it's said Habah by the locals). Slow but friendly service, that's everywhere in Maine. Stop in, quality food at great prices, you'll be happy and full.

You want lobster this is the place to go. Anything else maybe check something else out. Side choice was peas. That was it for veggies. My burger was not really that good. We just had seafood for lunch thought we would try something different. Waitress was very friendly.

We sat on the deck on a nice sunny and windy afternoon. Service was prompt and efficient. The cup of clam chowder was excellent. My family is obsessed with trying clam chowder wherever we go and employs a rating system! This was an A-! Only reason not an A is they like a bit of minced veggies like carrots and... More

This is a very typical seafood restaurant with lots of fried fish and seafood dishes. It was perfectly acceptable, but nothing more than average. The view is quite nice being just steps from the water. Service is friendly and good. Prices are average. I wouldn't make this a destination, but if you're in the area, it's a decent choice.

Fisherman's Friend was established in 1976. It has been and still is a family owned restaurant serving all the same seafood from all the same suppliers. We spent 29 years on School Street in Stonington and moved to 5 Atlantic Ave in 2005. We like to consider ourselves a family style restaurant with a large variety of meals to offer. Our price range is $8.99 to over $50 for very large Lobsters. We do have items available for the none seafood lovers and we are very kid friendly. We serve Lobster 18 different ways. We also do a large functions for anniversaries, Weddings, Receptions, Birthdays, Graduations, Reunions, Christmas Parties and any other special function you might need. If you come to Stonington be sure to stop by the Fisherman's Friend, The longest running seafood restaurant in the Area....37 years and counting.
