We visited Red Sky for the first time last night, and had a delicious meal. Service was excellent as well. I had the house smoked salmon with pasta and my husband had duck breast, and we shared the beet salad to start. All were wonderful....We will definitely return.More
Service: Professional AND Friendly
Ambiance: Unique. We had our own little dining space on the upper tier, marked by a rug, under our own little tent. It was really cool and an impressive addition to their seating to accommodate outside dining.
We felt lucky to get a reservation at our favorite restaurant in SW Harbor.
Given the restrictions of Corona-19. Red Sky has transformed the open lots behind the restaurant into a series of tented eating areas plus outdoor heaters. (The setting reminded us of Morocco.)...As previously the food and service were outstanding. Though I made a small mistake in breaking my habit of lobster and risotto for sole.
Be sure to book well ahead, especially with the current limited capacity.More
Excellent place for a special dinner. We celebrated our 20th anniversary here as part of a trip to Acadia. The most outstanding feature of this place is the incredible atmosphere for outdoor seating. They have an individual open air canopy plus a ground cover for...each table that makes it like a private mini restaurant. The lighting is very subtle (romantic to the max, but may be too dim for some).
The menu is creative with attention to the fine details. We had a nice appetizer of polenta, kale, mushrooms and balsamic. My husband had a seafood risotto, and I had Peekytoe crabcakes, both of which were very nice. The cocktail and wine lists are good too.More
My husband and I had been here last year, and wanted to share a culinary experience with my sister and her husband. We were not disappointed in the quality of the food or the service. We sampled the seafood sampler, mussels, lobster risotto, duck, and...lobster tacos. The gingerbread and raspberry sherbet desserts were.
In this time of COVID 19, I think it is appropriate to mention that the Covid precautions were all followed: we ate outside under a canopy spaced more than six feet from the nearest other table, sanitizer was used between diners and masks were worn. Thank you to all the staff!More
We tried to eat dinner here, but they were booked. COVID restrictions have reduced restaurant capacity on Mt. Desert, especially if you would like outdoor dining. We were however, able to book a lunch reservation for our party of eight. What a great outdoor seating...area and table layout! The outdoor dining area featured about six individual tented tables and an outdoor grill. While the selection was not great, the ambiance and the obvious safety benefits were a huge plus. Smoked scallops were excellent.More
Had such a nice time, Great Service and awesome food at this restaurant. The standouts were the seafood platter, lobster mushroom risotto and the sole. Nice wine list too! Always nice to have a hearty meal after a day of hiking.
On a weekend visit to MDI, we wanted a nice quiet birthday dinner so chose to stay close to SW Harbor. Red Sky is adjusting well to COVID with a great new backyard patio space, but it requires more treks to/from kitchen for staff so...meals take longer. We had a drink at the inside bar while waiting briefly for our table, so were seated right at dusk. Various folks brought us starters & salads, then our waitress Jeannie provided great advice for pairing wine with our meals. As our main dishes arrived they brought out candle lanterns which added to the ambiance of an amazing meal, but the food and service stole the show. My duck breast was served with a potato offering that I described as a danish (so good & cheesy, like an apple strudel!), and my wife enjoyed her basil pasta dish as well. Jeannie & team were gracious all night, and did not appear stressed out by late diners or extra running. Cheers!More
