UE TO 01/10 WINTER STORM, WE WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL THE SPRING TO FOCUS ON REPAIRS AND PREPARING FOR OUR 92ND SUMMER SEASON. APOLOGIES FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. Eat, drink and be messy. A visit to Beal's Lobster Pier is always a highlight - a restaurant that's on the water, with an atmosphere that's down to earth. At our working lobster pier in Southwest Harbor, Maine, you and your family will have a blast watching the boasts coming in and the lobstermen unloading their fresh catch. Hear the creak of rope on the moorings. Catch the scent of saltwater on the breeze and enjoy the waterfront view while chowing down on the freshest lobster you can eat. (Don't worry, the napkins are on us!)

We've been coming to Beal's for 30+ years, and the days of getting large lobsters with all of the trimmings at a reasonable price are long gone. Beal's still has the same seating on the pier both covered and not, but the operation feels corporate...and the prices are through the roof. We found several better options on the island for lobster and other seafood treats that were just as delicious (if not better) that were 30% cheaper with a better atmosphere, such as the Bar Harbor Lobster Pound in Hull's Cove. Keep looking.More

We’re Texans and hadn’t been to a lobster house, so can’t fairly criticize. We had fun and enjoyed the food. Best lobster roll ( garlic) of the three we had on our trip. (And the cheapest considering the portion of lobster). Lobster dinner messy and...great. Steamers didn’t flip our switch…meh. Blueberry pie disappointing and over-microwaved. Reasonable wines.More

I heard they had the best lobster roll. They do!! I got the Garlic Lovahs and it was superb. Extremely casual. You walk up, wait in line, place your order and pay, they tell you the table number, and the server brings the food when...its ready. It's worth every penny. My mouth still waters just thinking about it.More

I always wanted to experience a fresh Maine lobster dinner. Came in, picked the hoss right out of the tank, they weight him, was bigger that what I had intended, but I said “go for it!” Great meal, great service, and a great authentic Maine...lobster experience!! Thank you Beal’s !More

After a day in Acadia, we stopped at Beal's for some lobster. I had the classic lobster roll since I love lobster without the work. My husband opted for the dinner.

This place has great lobster rolls. My wife had the Traditional and I had the Garlic "Lovah's". Both were great. Don't expect fancy. Their deal is to serve the freshest lobster possible and they do it very well. Don't hesitate to go to this place.

We were recommended this place and weren’t disappointed. There was a queue but it moved quickly, I opted for one of the specials, lemon butter lobster roll and hubby had the burger as he doesn’t do fish. Lobster roll was filled to the brim and...was my fave of the trip. The burger was good too. My only gripe and I know it’s an American thing is adding a tip at the point of sale before you’ve even eaten and then them reading the receipt to check the tip (unless they’re checking the order is correct and I’m happy to be corrected on that). Just a small frustration from a Brit but the food was delicious and the staff friendly.More

This place is better than the others so highly rated in Bar Harbor for these reasons: 1. You can sit inside when it's cold outside. 2. Prices for Dinner for Two are very reasonable compared to Bar Harbor. 3. Lobster Dinner came with cole slaw,...corn on the cob, and cornbread. The ones so highly rated in Bar Harbor came with just corn and mussels, which we didn't want. We really enjoyed our lobster dinner where lobsters were taken from the tank right in front of us, put in a net bag and cooked right then and there. Couldn't be fresher than that! Corn and corn bread were very good. Slaw so-so like most slaws. Lobster perfect.More

Ordered two lobster rolls, one steamed lobster, a Diet Coke and water from a coach’s cooler. Bill before tip was $124. Drinks were ‘self serve’. A person brought the food and we never saw anyone again. We sat along the water on bar stools. Don’t...do that! The stools were not proportionate to the height of the tables - way too low. My lobster roll was supposed to be garlic butter. I neither tasted nor smelled any garlic. The steamed lobster was good.More

Had a very good, relaxing dinner here. Delicious lobster mac n cheese, lobster grilled cheese, broiled haddock sanwich, burger, sweet potato fries. Fish was absolutely fresh and made us realize how great fish can be. Very fast and efficient service. Couldn't have been better!

We stopped here for a late lunch. Most of the menu items were sold out for the day. The cashier was very nice and held up a lobster for me since I was looking at them. My husband had a garlic lovahs lobster roll and...I had a shrimp basket. I also had a Bloody Mary. My shrimp basket was good but it wasn’t really what I wanted but options were limited. It was my husbands least favorite lobster roll on our trip. The table we were seated at was slanted and the server that brought our food out acted like he didn’t want to be there. Bathrooms are in a separate building in front of the restaurant. Parking is limited to two hours.More

We stopped for a fresh lunch and we were not disappointed. We started with oysters, mussels, and then lobster. The food was awesome and the pier/waterside dining was a postcard of Maine. The selection of seafood is second to none. To top off the seafood,...some tasty local brews. Can't say enough about this place... very impressive.More

The best lobster rolls we've ever had. We ordered 4 classics. Everyone loved it. They used live lobster, which was so juicy and tender. It was not salty as we feared. We topped it up with some blueberry pies to share. The total came to...around $40/person, which is reasonable given the high quality of the lobster. Super delicious but definitely not for anyone watching their weight. We were still full after 8 hours. It is worth breaking the diet rule for. Great place to check out if you are visiting Seawall Point. I believe that the Park bus does not stop here so you may want to drive your own vehicle.More

We ordered takeout at this restaurant. It was a large order, and we didn't have an issue with something in the order missing. It didn't take long for the order to be ready either. Their lobster roll and crab roll were both delicious.

They don’t take reservations. Tables turn over pretty fast and there is a lot of seating. Don’t let the long line scare you, it’s worth the wait!!!
