Did takeout for 6 people last night. Food was uniformly excellent. Both the chicken and pork dishes had meat that was tender, flavorful and no gristle. Ordered by phone and food was ready at exactly promised time. This will be a place we come back...to, often, in the coming months.More

This is a friendly, comfortable spot. Plenty of seating and a clean, warm, open atmosphere. The food is outstandingly good. Like your mother would make if she cooked this style. Very fresh. Spiced gently with little fat/oil. Every aspect was delicious, even the garnish. Crave-able.

Had the Colombiano hot dog that included pineapple salsa, melted mozzarella, pink sauce, potato chip crumbles, and three hard-boiled quail eggs on top -- quite a change from the typical American hot dog! It was delicious. The frozen passion fruit daiquiri wasn't bad either. You...have to wait a bit because everything's made fresh, so it's worth the wait.More

I have never actually been to Saco. The Quiero Cafe I've visited a half dozen times is in Portland, but Trip Advisor doesn't recognize this second location. Quiero Cafe is all things I love best - Pan Latin American cuisine, delicious coffee and hot chocolate,...local draft beer, friendly, energetic, and full of flavor. They serve 13 different baked empanadas, and yes, you will want to sample all of them, hot dog Columbiana, Cuban sandwich, burritos, tostones, sweet plantain, guacamole, and Patacon, a large, crispy tombstone topped with lettuce, pico-de-gallo, pink sauce, avocado, and a choice of proteins. They do not offer tacos on the regular menu, which I think is smart. There are so many great things, you won't miss them. That is, until you go on Taco Tuesday and have the Lechon, that unctuous Portuguese style pork on Quiero cafe's handmade corn tortillas (these folks know masa - about 3/8" thick street taco size, perfectly flexible with a tender chew), onion, cilantro, and salsa de arbol. I may not get back to Portland for another one, but I can die happy knowing I've eaten the best taco of my life at Quiero Cafe.More

This place is a surprising gem. The food is incredible—healthy, fresh, and filling. I had the patacon (a savory plantain disk with lettuce, avocado, queso fresco, garlic aioli, and pink sauce) and it came with rice and beans. Delicious! When you eat in, the food...is served on/in metal plates and cups—so not a lot of waste. The decor, in Saco, is clean, airy, exposed brick, metal chairs, wooden tables. Food is ordered at the counter with pick up further down that counter (bus your own tables into dish buckets, compost, and trash bins). All three in my party joined the clean plate club! They serve limeades, margaritas, coffee drinks, etc. Well worth the visit. The staff tells me they hail from Chile, Columbia, El Salvador, and “places like that.”More

We had lunch here on a whim since it was near the main drag. The beef and chicken empanadas were good as was the chips/salsa. Nice, casual decor.

This place is a real gem. The Cuban tradition lives on and the food is savory, fresh, and delicious. The casual vibe is comfortable and the prices are very reasonable. The counter service is helpful and friendly. I can’t remember the name of the dish...I had- but it was carnitas served on fried plantains with a flavorful red cream sauce on top. We also ordered guacamole (excellent) and an astoundingly good fresh blended lemonade with pineapple. Oh. And the empanadas. Off. The. Hook. Enjoy!More

Not only was the food great, but it was so authentic yet still had their own style. There is nothing like it in the area. It was fantastic to have a place that wasnt like every other place around. The best Cuban I've ever had...and those empanadas...wow! If you're near and dont stop, you're making a huge mistake. Cant wait till the next trip to Saco!!!!More
