We had been told about Primo by our hotel, and were eager for a reservation. Seeing no availability online, we left a voice message and received a call the next day offering an early table on the day of our arrival in Rockland. Encountering delays in driving, we called to alert Primo to our likely late arrival and they could... More

We vacation in Maine every summer and this is our favorite restaurant. They have their own farm on premises and the restaurant is in the huge old farmhouse which is very charming. Very knowledgeable servers with an imaginitive menu that changes with whatever is in season. Our favorite is the farmers salad with a fresh poached egg on top, and... More

I love Primo. We like to hit this place once a year, make it a special treat. I envy you folks who are walking into that space for the first time. I wish I could experience that again. It is in an old house that has been divided up in all these little rooms and pockets to dine. There is... More

The food at Primo is as delicious as people say it is. We went in August, when it's extremely crowded. If you go, be sure to reserve well in advance. There are tables upstairs where you can go without a reservation, but we went on a Saturday night at 5:30 and were told that we'd have to wait about an... More

Primo was absolutely delicious. This was our second visit. The first time was three years ago and we couldn't wait to get back to Maine and Primo! We started with the charcuterie along with a cheese board. I had the beet salad and my husband had the special appetizer octopus. Both were out of this world. For my main course... More

My wife and I had one of the best meals ever at Primos. We had heard about it from friends in Maine and from the locals. We arrived early without a reservation and were fortunate to find a table. We started with local scallops which were fabulous. I had the haddock as a main and my wife the duck. Both... More

We have never been disappointed. This farm to table restaurant is one of the best. Get there before 5 pm and wait in line - it is work it. Doors open at 5 and head directly upstairs to the bar/lounge. Full menu. Incredible food!

Reserve well in advance; arrive early to tour the gardens to see what you'll be eating; decent drink list; freshest quality organic and local foods lovingly prepared, displayed and served. Well-trained staff. Desserts impossible to pass on, w enough donuts (famous) to feed your corner of the room. Old Victorian mansion w 2 floors of nooks and crannies, seating for... More

Yes, you can get in without reservations. Show up at 5:00, wait in line in the porch, and then go upstairs to the bar room where you can order small plates off bar menu and off the full downstairs menu!

At the suggestion of friends, and from Trip Advisor reviews, we decided to travel from Kennebunk to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. An overcrowded, noisy dining area made for a less than satisfactory dining experience, and not worth a $250 dinner bill. We arrived on time and were told our table was not ready so we had a glass of... More
