Placed our online order of Home on the Range, Cinnamon Bun, and Bahn Home for pickup on Friday. This is our must go place for breakfast whenever we stay in the area and they did not disappoint. I had the Home on the Range and it was a winner. My over easy eggs were cooked perfectly, the corned beef hash was excellent, and my homemade rye toast was tasty. My wife had the Bahn Home and she raved about it. I did get a few bites and it rivals any Bahn Mi that we have had in our travels. The Cinnamon Bun had to wait till the next morning and a quick trip in the microwave freshened it up. We do miss dining here, but lets all help support this special place till we are free of COVID.

We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast here, no wait getting seated, and a very friendly atmosphere, not just because of our server but the folks sitting nearby making conversation with us as well. We had heard good things about the place and, being on vacation, we wanted to try the place the locals raved about.
It may seem like a little thing, but they use real butter here, not oleo, and it really stood out when consuming their pancakes or their wonderful thick, crispy toast! The syrup is made locally, and that was also a nice touch. My friend had the blueberry pancakes, and I had a combination breakfast, both of which were yummy and filling. We were a little set back by the cost of nearly $30 including our tip, but were happy with our meal and can't wait to come back when we visit again next year.

Upon arrival, we were daunted by the long wait time (45 minutes!) but we’d been told it was the best breakfast in town. It was! The blueberry pancakes were out of this world as was the LOADED farmers omelet, complete with homemade oatmeal toast. We purchased some of their bakery-made dessert items for later in the day (a pumpkin whoopie pie and a cream horn) and they did not disappoint either! Yum!
The staff was super friendly and very attentive. Big smiles and warm goodbyes when we left. It was clear that everyone there was hustling - from the kitchen to the dining room yet it ran like a well oiled machine! While waiting in line we did notice empty tables yet still many waiting at the door and inquired. The host told us that they, like others were suffering from a staff shortage. We had figured as much. She had her hands full managing droves of impatient, hangry people. Hats off to her for staying so positive and welcoming each and every time the door opened all the while clearing tables, taking takeout orders, delivering food and answering the phone. This restaurant may be understaffed but the staff they have is top notch!
We’d recommend Home Kitchen Cafe to anyone who is looking for really good food in a warm, upbeat, cheerful environment. Patience is required however! And try a cinnamon bun for us. They had already sold out by the time we arrived!
(Our only one small gripe - charging for a lemon with your water?!)

Home Kitchen has a truly great breakfast with a wide variety of options and great service. Unfortunately because of COVID the inside seats were closed and fewer people could be accommodated outdoors but we luckily got a table! The eggs Benedict were as good as I have eaten with delicious ham, oatmeal toast and a sauce that was thicker and tastier than I have experienced. My wife had the huge cinnamon bun and a delicious breakfast sandwich. I also highly recommend the home fries which were true home fried potatoes cooked to perfection!

Tried the fried rice bowl and it was awesome! Wish more places had that idea for breakfast! Our group also had the pulled pork sandwich and a standard egg breakfast and everyone was happy. Friendly staff and they seemed to be doing a really good job with the covid measures. The deck offers a pretty nice view of the ocean ans being above the traffic helps a bit with the noise.

Smooth online ordering process and an equally smooth pick up for our takeout order. The menu here is diverse and it’s a nice option to order a lunch item if you’re not feeling like breakfast. We went with the Bahn Bowl, Home on the Range with Homemade Oatmeal Bread, and an order of Plain Home Fries. My wife really enjoyed her bowl and my home on the range was perfect. A double thumbs up on the home fries. We have never been disappointed here whether dining inside or ordering takeout during this pandemic.

We've eaten here over the years and we've never been disappointed, but today's lunch was next level!
My husband and I both got burgers, and let me tell you, they were spectacular! Perfectly cooked, and even after getting them to go and taking them to the waterfront to eat they were still as fresh as if they were handed to us off the grill.
And their BUNS! Oh my goodness! I've never had a more fluffy, but sturdy brioche. Perfect for a burger, and griddled to make a stunning crispy accent to the juicy patty.
And the people were unbelievably sweet and lovely! They truly seem like they love what they do! Cannot say enough good things. You need to eat here!

40 minute wait turned into 60, and at that time, we still had another group waiting in front of us. We decided to place an order for “pick up”, so we could at least get food ordered. Waited around outside for another 30 minutes, and noticed empty tables in the upper deck for 10-15 minutes before people were seated. Not sure if they were understaffed or did not notice. My wife eventually spoke up, by this time hangriness had taken hold. Fortunately, our order was on its way out the door. The food was good, except for the grilled cheese, which had enough cheese to choke a goat. Fish taco and Cuban was good. They threw in a couple chocolate chip cookies for the undesired long wait, and for that; I bump them up from 1 to 2 stars. I expected better from a number 1 rated restaurant.

I had eaten here back in 2019 and was looking forward to recreating the same meal. Again, I ordered a Build Your Own Omelet (3 eggs, with cheddar, fresh tomato, mushrooms) for $7.25, but this time added sautéed onions for an extra buck. Even better than last time! Excellent house made rye toast. Iced Tea instead of coffee. But here’s my only “disappointment.” They were only serving their amazing Sticky Buns on the weekend! I numbed myself to the pain by having a warmed-up Ginger Molasses Cookie. VERY friendly service. Still love this place and of course, I’ll be back.

An unexpected long wait mid week for lunch. Among the last 3 parties to be seated (nearly all at the same time) our waitress was upbeat & terrific. Our party had lobster tacos, haddock chowder, haddock sandwich and a hamburger with fries. All of us were very happy with the food but had we known a 12:30 arrival would turn into a 2 o’clock lunch, we wouldn’t have waited.

Simply brilliant place for breakfast. Blueberry Pancakes with maple syrup were rated “the best ever” but for me the huevos rancheros with chorizo were just spectacular - fiery sauce, perfectly poached eggs, black beans, home made tortillas, avocado and sour cream... and just the right amount - colourful and wonderful all round. I was left mourning the fact that I didn’t have time to go back for lunch to try the fish tacos - which looked just too good to miss... The staff were extremely efficient and friendly. In summary worth going out of the way to visit!

Had breakfast at the Home Kitchen Cafe. Service and food were very good. Large portions, fresh and hot. Service was prompt. Why the three stars? Felt ripped off when I got the bill and my small (maybe 5 oz) glass of OJ was $3.50. It's a shame to leave a place after having a very good meal feeling you have been taken advantage of. In my opinion, $50 (with tip) for two people at a local place for breakfast is not worth it, no matter how good it was.

We ordered to go and appreciated the thoughtful contactless set up. Breakfast burrito, sandwiches, french toast were exactly as expected - including our special no-onions requests. Home fries were some of the best I've ever had and the sticky buns were amazing. We ended up with about twice as much food as we needed, but leftovers made a good lunch.

This restaurant is way overpriced and the service was terrible. Our waitress actually forgot to take our order and waited so long we actually had to seek her out to finally take our order. The food was okay but nothing special.

Our group of eight were warmly welcomed and taken care of like we were family. Zan expertly made sure we had everything we needed and then some- including calling their bakery a few doors down to save me some cinnamon buns.
The hostess was personable and charming. She talked to us almost the whole time we were waiting for a table. Clearly these are people who love what they do, and it shows. Wonderful people and delicious food. When we are back in Maine next year, we will be stopping in. You guys are the best!
