We'd heard a lot about the lobster club sandwich from people whose taste we trust, so we were surprised by how bad it was. No bacon visible, but that was a minor defect compared to the tasteless and overcooked lobster. The clam chowder was really a potato chowder with clams. Altogether disappointing.

The Brass Compass has a relaxed atmosphere with fresh seafood. This place is a must for lunch when in Rockland.

Hubby and I stopped by this place on our way back home, I ordered the king of the club, he ordered sailor's something something breakfast. Mine was a huge club sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries and a few slices of pickles. Every bite I took, I can taste the bacon and the lobster, I could only stuff... More

We had breakfast here one morning. The coffee was good. The service was fine. However, the food was a little above average, but not a 4.0. The bacon had been cooked earlier, and the level of grease a little too high.

Delicious breakfast and a very hearty serving, too full to finish! Courteous staff! We sat outside which was exciting especially since there were so many naval and marine officers enjoying brunch as well!

We were making our drive up the coast along 1 and thought we'd try this place for lunch. It happened to be the weekend of the Rockland lobster festival which we were unaware of prior, so it was very busy. Service was just ok, but I'm sure it was the high volume. We of course ordered the lobster club, and... More

Breakfasts there was GREAT. We were there early (8AM) and they were not very busy. Portion sizes were humongous, and of excellent quality. A very large and varied menu would satisfy Mose folks. Service was excellent. Seating was either inside or outside - we chose the outdoors. Place is highly recommended.

The lobster stew is one of the best we've ever had and reasonably priced. Small place, and service is usually slow, but prices are good.

Don't get fooled by the muffins and biscuits. This isn't the south. The muffin was too sweet, both the muffin and biscuit were gummy. The rest of the meal was good. I'm so grossed out by carpet in restaurants.
