We chose the Brass Compass Cafe because we had a dog and it was advertised as being pet friendly. I called the day before to say that we had a dog with us and would need to eat outside and to ask whether we would have any trouble getting a table. I was told that there were always plenty of... Make it a day in Rockland: Visit the Farnsworth Museum in the morning, walk a few blocks to the Brass Compass Cafe where you will enjoy real hometown cooking. Huge portions of obster salad or fish and chips. Everything is delicious and prepared before your eyes. Then you can walk it off, window shopping along Main Street. A piece of... More

I had a great lobster salad .. Fresh good ingredients ... Friendly service. It's a busy place for locals and tourists visiting the Farnsworth Museum. I saw huge lobsters sandwiches go by for others.

I watch Food Network so thought I'd try Lynn's breakfast eatery. Could not believe the sad state of that place. We sat at the first booth near the creaky front door -- the seat was broken badly and I had to scoot down to the other end. There were flies everywhere -- and I mean everywhere. My husband, who is... Often lobster roll in Maine has virtually no mayonnaise. This has the perfect amount. The portions are huge. It's one of our favorites, we eat here every year on our annual trip to Maine. Also try the lobster eggs benedict. Delish!

My family and I went to Brass Compass yesterday, 9/5/2016. I've been there several times in years past, and the lobster club did not disappoint -- it's a perfect sandwich. I was, however, very disappointed by the service we received. We came at 12:15pm, and my wife tried to order two scrambled eggs. Despite the fact that the menu said... More

I ate here with a coworker on a day trip. We both had the breakfast here. They had some very reasonable prices on standard diner breakfast fare. Definitely not a higher end type of establishment and definitely a local type of place that was a bit run down, but if you're in the market for a decent breakfast that's better... More

Good location, good size (I happen not to like huge dining halls) good diner-type service by rushed but friendly wait staff. Food is adequate, abundant but not impressive by any means.
