Get shed faced!

So this place is a gem in Rangeley. Good food, great service and you can also get shed faced!! But the best thing was when my puppy jumped out and had to be caught. The chef brought out meat and the staff helped us corral him. Now THAT is service!!!!!!

Pleasantly surprised

Despite dealing with covid-19 restrictions and the staff reduction, the ribs and the brisket BBQ were excellent. Currently they cannot provide selections for vegans and vegetarians because of the limited menu, but in normal times they do have these available. I would return again.

After not eating all day and driving over too many frost heaves, we wanted some bbq and we heard the Shed was good. The reviews were all good as well. We dropped in and looked things over. Fair menu, all the usual suspects. The chinese ribs and garlic noodles sounded odd for a bbq joint. Over all it was ok. Nothing special. I think that the cornbread was lacking and actually sucked. It was 6.00 for a piece. Not really much cornmeal in it either. More like yellowish bread. My brisket was slathered in bbq sauce. I prefer it dry rubbed. I should learn to ask how it is served. My fault. 2 Kind of fatty pieces thinly sliced. Coke slaw passed the test. No beans on the menu. I hate to bash a place but they need to step it up. 3 people. 2 drinks, 1 beer, 1 app, pretzels were good, 3 dinners. 111 bucks snd a lesson for me.

Horrible experience

Our family decided to eat at this restaurant after a day of skiing. The vibe of the restaurant was nice and everyone seemed to be having a good time. We were looking forward to having a tasty meal but were disappointed when several other tables that arrived after us received their orders immediately while we were left waiting. After waiting 90 minutes (along with another large table that arrived after us), we asked about our order and the waitress said order was mysteriously lost and that the cooks never received it. After reading other reviews about this restaurant, I realize this type of poor service is standard for this restaurant - particularly for visitors. Don’t waste your time or money here!! There are many other restaurants in town that will serve visitors happily with both good food and service. This was a horrible experience all-around and a lousy way to spend a vacation meal.

Fun evening

Enjoyed the live music! They play every Friday night. Only had drinks and apps. Waitress is overwhelmed due to the shortage of help, (thanks to government making it so easy for people not to work). So I choose to be patient with those that choose to work and wait on me. (As others have complained in previous post). We had a really fun evening and will return soon.

Great pulled pork

Casual BBQ place with large portions and relaxed friendly service. We were there for an early supper and ate outside, under the shed roof. Just what we wanted. Pulled pork, brisket, scallops - everyone’s meal was fine. Served on metal trays, on parchment paper. No frills. Good selection of draft beer.

Love The Shed

The Shed is my happy place. Jen and the gang are THE BEST. I don’t miss a Friday night there when Tom and the Ball Bros. play. When I wake up on Friday and look forward to going, it’s like Christmas. Thanks for the memories. C.F.

Good BBQ

A bunch of stuff wasn't available the night we ordered and they seemed to discourage us from placing our larger to-go order, but it's COVID, so we understood supply issues and staffing issues. Tat said, everything was ready in about an hour, correct, and yummy. Will definitely order again!

Get " shed-faced" b4 coming here to tolerate the bull$#@!

After being ignored for about an hour we kindly inquired as to where our appetizers were. We received a rude and defensive answer from our waitress, who was apparently clueless that restaurant jobs aren't exactly hard to come by. Not only have my fiance and I both worked extensively in the food business, we also blatantly watched every single table around us get served and taken care of before we did - all of which who were sat after we were - it doesn't exactly take Einstein to figure it out. Mistakes aren't hard to come by and a somewhat apologetic attitude and/or a reasonably quick correction would have sufficed, but that order was also too tall for the staff at hand. Over an hour later we left with our pockets $100 lighter and our stomachs aching and filled with what amounted to glorified cafeteria food. The night before we ate at a neighboring facility that had better food, customer service, and you didn't have to swat a fly away from your meal every 3 minutes - all for less money, and we took home enough Pizza to eat the next day. If you're hungry in Rangeley I strongly urge you to explore other options - don't waste your time at this "shed hole".

AWESOME BRISKET AND PULLED PORK

1st time the ever visited this establishment we were very very pleasantly surprised the staff was very friendly and the food was great especially the brisket in a pulled pork and the French fries were incredible.

Would have been better but,

Our BBQ sandwiches were fine, not outstanding, but I wouldn't have dinged them for the food. What I AM knocking them down for is the length of time we waited for our food when nobody else was in there! A family of 3 was there when we got there and had obviously already ordered. They got their food and had left before we got 3 sandwiches, 2 pulled pork and 1 brisket. Seems to me that those meats are basically done already, just a matter of assembling the sandwiches. The fries & onion rings took the longest but they don't take that long either. I asked about the fried clams, was told that's a summer item. Uhh, excuse me I've been eating clams my whole 50+year life, they are available in the fall! Whatever. Service wasn't bad otherwise, it wasn't her fault the food took forever. We would not go back.

Delicious food, awesome service!

First of all, we've driven by The Shed for so many years and considered it, but yet never stopped. Well, we finally did a couple of weeks ago, and I'm SO glad we did! First of all, The Shed has the most BEAUTIFUL pots of flowers hanging on the porch outside, which really contributes to the atmosphere... but mostly importantly, the brisket sandwich was to die for...so tasty, so tender and delicious. Just the right amount of smoke, and it just melted in your mouth. I had my sauce on the side because I wanted to experience the brisket on its own merit - just awesome! Fries could stand a few more minutes in the fryer, but we weren't there for them. Coleslaw is very good.l Service - the best! Friendly, prompt, engaging... Don't drive by without stopping!
