Caiola's is a hidden gem and we love it that way. A perfect trendy, cozy, and just enough upscale dining experience for the West End locals and hospital employees. Best burger in Portland with homemade tater tots. I'll say that again: HOME MADE TATER TOTS. Polenta fries are a great appetizer to share. All entrees are excellent from brunch to... More

I had dinner at Caiola's on Wednesday night at 6PM, we had a party of six and sat in the front window space. The booth accommodated the six of us well, and was not uncomfortable in any way. The environment is warm and intimate, and it's the kind of place where it is nice to have a few drinks. Unfortunately... More

We had never been here so decided to go - we had a very nice dinner starting with a brandy/Sangria. We both ordered the cod which was really delicious, with green beans cooked excellently well and other ingredients. We had candy cap ice cream with chocolate cake for dessert, which was made with MUSHROOMS. The ice cream I mean. I... More

Following through on this recommendation was well worth the short walk from the Inn on Carleton. They graciously seated our party of 5 without a reservation. The mushroom soup was brilliant, as was the Caesar Salad was excellent, though the fried oysters were the only letdown. Burgers were sublime. We'll be back.

Prowling around for a new place to try for brunch led us to Caiola's and we were not disappointed. We chose to order the "Lost Bread" to share before our brunch selections, and it was the best choice. Warm, moist, sweet, flavorful - very, very good. While my wife had an unremarkable choice, I had the Eggs Tostada which I... More

This is one of our never fail go-to places and again it came through. Yes it is sort of snug in here, but it is well worth it for the variety, quality out of the kitchen and overall value. We shared the spicy shrimp bisque and it was absolutely perfect for a rainy Thursday night. My wife had the buffalo... More

7 family members met here for Sunday brunch. The menu is nothing special, nothing inventive or unique. We waited a long time for our food to come out. The home fries were overcooked, the plates were not plated artistically. We expected inventive & tasty food, & we were all disappointed. Way too many other excellent brunch choices in Portland.

We always end up back here after wondering the busy restaurants in Old Port and Downtown Portland. Love the menu, wait staff and cosy feeling. Great enclosed patio space for summer and late fall dining.

Took a group of 21 to this little restaurant and had a great time! Walk through the kitchen to get to the large room, so you get to inspect the hot burning heart of the place. Rustic atmosphere. I had the Zuppa Pesce, a fish soup with mussels, clams, shrimp and hake in a lobster bisque. They have a custard... More
