Rosie's Restaurant & Pub has quite the history dating back to the 1800's. Situated on Fore Street in the historical Old Port of Portland, Maine. Rosie's is a relaxing neighborhood eatery & pub, blending locals and tourists. Known for their half pound burgers, jumbo wings and full of lobster delectable rolls. High on standards, low on pretense, Rosie's makes for a great time out. We were listed in Esquire Magazine as one of the top 100 bars in the US. Locals have bestowed the honor of calling us, The American Family Restaurant & Pub of Portland.

I’ve never had such rude service. No one would even ask us if we needed anything after our original waitress just up and left without a word and waved bye to her coworkers after taking a shot before she left. The three other waiters kept...eyeing us and wouldn’t even ask if there was anything else we wanted. My husband and I literally told ourselves we would drink until the rain stopped but no one helped us. We literally chose to walk out in the pouring rain than stay there. The older gentleman waiter was atrocious. He kept mumbling obscenities under his breath when we stopped him to ask for a beer and our tab. I do not know how this place stays in business. The owner really needs to get his employees into shape. I also saw the same gentlemen tell another customer that he hopes never to see her there again. If you have a choice DO NOT STOP HERE to eat or drink.More
We ordered takeout from Rosie's while we were in town over the weekend. Had to call in twice in order to get someone to answer the phone. On the second attempt, the guy that answered sounded very annoyed that I wanted to place an order,...and he responded with, "HOLD ON" and he just dropped the phone for probably 30 seconds. When he came back, his response was "you want to place a take order huh?" I gave him the order - which consisted of 2 entrees and he told me to come in 15 mins later. Upon arrival, the same guy game me an attitude and said "stand over there" and pointed to an area off to the right of the restaurant. A couple minutes later, he said, "are you here for take out?" Figuring we already established that, I said "yes" and he said hang on again. He finally waived me over, and when he handed me the slip, said something about leaving a tip. I signed, and got out of there - he was pretty rude and abrasive. The food itself was good overall - but not exceptional by any means. The lobster mac n cheese was delicious - and was piping hot when we opened the container. It was cooked perfectly and came with ample amounts of claw meat. Also ordered the 8oz sirloin meal. It was just OK - meaning a typical greasy bar steak. Overall, I would say we had just an "OK" experience with 4-star food. Not sure if we'd hit Rosie's again next time we're in Portland. Maybe?More
We came here since the place we wanted to go to was closed. Good food, decent drinks, disappointing service! When we have to flag our server down only for him to be annoyed and say Jesus christ, loud enough for us to hear it. That...puts a bad taste in your mouth!!More
I ordered the cauliflower tacos and they had almost no corn and were quite cold. The employees were not friendly at all and I waited 40 minutes for 2 tacos.

We are sorry your experience was poor but I believe you are reviewing the wrong restaurant. We do not serve cauliflower tacos and our tacos come in threes with our options being chicken, steak, shrimp, and haddock.
The wait-person is clueless. brought the appetizer with the entrée, terribly over-cooked steak and I needed a spoon for the Lobster Mac n cheese. the young people have the voice tones of a HS cafeteria. Overall, if you enjoy a normal restaurant, avoid Rosie's.
More than normal pub fare, burgers were huge, Rosie burger was super salty but large and tasty otherwise, bbq burger was very good, fries are good, prices were very fair. Burgers were cooked exactly right. Thai wrap was flavorful but not enough chicken, could have...been just luck of the draw for my wrap. Worth a visit, burgers were huge and fries were good. Beer needed to be wayyyyy colder though. Staff was fine. Crank down the beer temp and I’d come back often.More
They must be using the B team to run this place. No organization in taking names for seating. They'll tell you the wait is 15 mins.... You'll still be waiting an hour later, with no explanation. They also don't move patrons along, when they're operating...at 50% seating capacity. Places like this can be found all over....do yourself a favor and skip this oneMore

We apologize for your bad experience with our establishment and thank you for your comment and review. We now are working on a better way to ensure that wait times are closer to what is stated upon arrival. Looking at setting time limits on tables...More
If I could give this place a zero stars I would, here is my dilemma I flew into town is an emergency for my best friend whose father is gravely ill and probably not going to live for another day or so. We stop in...to get some food and drinks and celebrate my best friend‘s father‘s life. We are approached by Terrence who was the rudest most disgusting display of a waiter I’ve ever seen in my life telling us that he just wanted us to get away he was sick of looking at us and he was tired of us! To say that our first tab was $180 an second was $70 We were not rude we were not disrespectful this man was downright the most inconsiderate rude POS I’ve ever dealt with I am demanding that the owner of this restaurant call me or get in touch with me. Or I am going to make sure that this goes viral and everybody knows what a rotten human being this Terrence is for even saying the things that he said! Valerie on the other hand was amazing and apologized immensely for her coworkers disgusting display of rudeness! You get a gentleman named Terrence that is going to serve you you’re better off walking away from the place because he is probably and by far the rudest worst bartender/waiter I’ve ever encountered! And I’ve traveled all over the US.... you have lost our business, and this man doesn’t even need to have a job at this place or anywhere else in this town because he’s just rude.. Who tell somebody as we are paying a tab I just can’t wait to be done with you guys, or I just don’t even wanna look at your face! He’s lucky a fight didn’t break out.More
