Service was o.k. at best, slow. The atmosphere was good. The food was very overpriced, and terrible. I had the fried chicken, which you couldnt chew, mashed potatoes half of which were burned (no gravy) menu says it comes with gravy. The person with me...had the fish & chips in which the fish was way overcooked almost burned. I would not recommend this place. Maybe for a drink only or something.More

Ate at Rosie’s today. I had a haddock sandwich & fries and they were excellent!!! My husband had a lobster roll & fries and he said his was really good as well. Only thing that was disappointing was the coke from the fountain - mix...was a little off. We would definitely return!!More

Rosie's is one of the longest established restaurants in Portland, and has a local following and a lot of tourist attention. We had never been there. but it turned out to be an okay place for lunch. I can't say there is anything special about...the experience. I had the fish tacos, which were tasty, a bit short on haddock, and had no discernable relationship to Mexican cuisine. The vegetarian spring rolls were deep-fried and disappointingly bland. We were drawn to Rosie's because of the mention of a long list of draft beers. That was accurate, but the list was 80% IPAs (plus Allagash white and one of two other non-IPA options). Perhaps this is what their clientele typically want, but for us, a more varied list would have been a plus. Service was friendly, though a little slow. We shared the dining room with two groups of seven or eight guys who looked to be of college age, and were impressed with their maturity. The room was not at all noisy. It's also worth mentioning that prices here are a bit high for what you get, probably because Rosie's is in a prime tourist-oriented location. The restaurant is fine for a pub, though not distinguished in any way, and there are more interesting options within two blocks or so.More

i went here earlier today for lunch and the service was terrible, someone in my group never got their food and instead of offer to get them what they ordered our waitress said “i’ll take it off the bill” which yeah…i hope you would’ve. she...brought me a margarita when i ordered a lemonade(im 16), and she also never checked in on us while we ate, only came over to bring us the check, which is where the biggest issue was. on the check we saw that she had charged us for 3 “rosie’s lemonade” which are $12 and i was confused cause there was no way a lemonade was $12 so i went over to talk to her and asked her why it was so much. she said that they all were alcoholic, she never carded any of the people she brought this to, and i had drank the whole thing without knowing. she didn’t even apologize for giving a minor alcohol, just changed the prices to what two of us had thought we ordered, a normal lemonade. the other people who ordered this(one who intentionally got an alcoholic lemonade and the other who didn’t) were both over 21 but the fact that she gave me, a 16 year old, vodka is insane… not once, but twice! (and she still charged us for the lemonade, didn’t even take it off for the mix up) i would not recommend this place whatsoever and i’m very upset that at 16 i was given a giant alcoholic beverage without my knowledge or consent.More

I had 3 Fish tacos. The were average. They were on the small side with nothing else with them. My friend had a burger and fries and liked it.

The wait staff was very busy but took the time to make us feel at home. The chicken wings were expensive but great. The salmon dinner was delicious. The classic burger - just what I wanted.

First off there was no hostess yet sign said to wait to be seated. We waited at the hostess booth in front of the door along with other customers behind us. A waitress came by and rudely told us to move out of the door....She then directed us to a table and took our orders without even a smile. She was also unfamiliar with the menu. The food was mediocre at best and way over priced for the quality of food. Ate at a mom and pop restaurant o another day got the same food at way cheaper price, more food and better quality. Best part of the meal was watching the mounted police make his rounds. I would recommend trying a different restaurant when in Old Port,Maine.More

Great wait service. We ordered a Dasch seltzer, it was good. Also ordered a Buffalo chicken wrap and fries. It was crispy and fresh. My husband ordered a grilled cheese with ham and fries. We were both happy with the food, atmosphere, service.

We were hungry and it was in front of us. Wine was undrinkable. Food only slightly better. Service was decent although there were very few waitresses for the crowd.

We were a hungry family looking for lunch in Portland. Reviews were good. It was awful. 15 minute wait to be seated in a half full patio. Disinterested server. Drinks were weak. Long wait. Under cooked fish. Bad nachos. I fully understand e difficulties restaurants...are having these days. But this was horrid. Stay clear.More

Situated in Boothby Square, in the heart of Portland’s Old Port, this bar/restaurant was a real gem just off the beaten paths of Commercial Street. It was a short walk from area hotels and the Casco Bay lines terminal. Seating indoors was at tables or...at a bar; outdoors was at picnic tables, some shaded, others not. I chose one of the last stools at the bar indoors. Several TVs broadcasted sports. Contemporary country music aired in the background. Goose Island ale was on tap at a good price; a chalkboard listed about a dozen other ales and lagers, other drinks as well. Menu items, even for appetizers, all seemed high-priced, so I passed on them. Service was fast and friendly. Metered parking was curbside on area streets; public garages were nearby. I liked all that I found here, particularly the service with a smile; I disliked nothing.More

We have been patient with other restaurants when we have experienced slow service, menu limitations etc. during the current labor shortage. But, this place obviously doesn’t care about customers at all. From management down to the servers the attitudes of the employees were downright rude...and defiant. Do not go here. It will ruin your day as it did ours.More
