We took a chance and ended up with a great find. Large portions and you will be pleasantly surprised how wonderful everthing tastes so good! Perfect for families or groups!

Food was good, nice craft beer selections, reasonably priced, good service. We were in basement bar but there is a dining room upstairs.

Stopped in with some friends for lunch. Seemed more like the noisy bar scene was happening here at lunchtime. Food was so-so.

They have Bitter. Say no more. Rare to find a pub in the U.S. with Bitter. Theres was quite good. I am an instant fan of this place.

Went here on a Friday night for a local brew. It was somewhat busy but not too bad and we got a table for two downstairs by the bar. It was nice to be able to watch the Olympics while we had a drink. The waitress took quite awhile to come to us as she was talking with what I... More

We came here with other families and kids and they accommodated us right away. They have long tables that sit large parties which was nice. Their menu had many options and was a step above a normal pub menu. They had a kid menu which also had nice choices. It's nothing fancy inside but you get that old world pub... More

The pretzel sticks are amazing. One of the best eats in the old port. Fun, family style seating and atmosphere.

We met up with friends right around dinner time. It was hard to find a place to sit where you have to grab a table as soon as someone gets up and it was hard for 8 of us to stand around without feeling like we were in the way. So we ended up sitting outside at 2 different tables... More

Definitely a required stop in Portland! This pub was full of locals on a Tuesday night and is an old-school sports pub with great ales (try the blueberry) and good cheer. You can hang out by one of the back windows and watch the boat or sit near the front for people watching.

It's a brew pub, and tables are long picnic tables with benches. It's not a romantic spot, but the food is great and I'm told the beer is, too. I had a crispy chicken salad, which I enjoyed. The salad was very ordinary, but the chicken was very small pieces, well fried, crispy and delicious. Service could have been a... More

Gritty McDuff's, Maine's Original Brew Pub specializes in hand-crafted English style ales and traditional and creative pub fare, in a friendly and fun atmosphere. Both Gritty's fine ales and the pubs have won countless "best of" awards through our twenty-five years of operation. Our standard brews are session beers, Gritty's Pub-Style Pale Ale, McDuff's Best Bitter, Black Fly Stout, allowing one to have multiple beers within a reasonable time period without overwhelming the senses. Our seasonal and varietal ale offerings are more adventurous, some with a higher ABV, and some with higher IBU. We brew a beer for all craft brew palates. For the diner, we offer traditional pub fare alongside not so traditional specialty items. Our pub-style long tables with benches easily accommodate parties of all sizes and add to the camaraderie.
