Came to town to avoid rain at the lake. 3 couples had lunch on the deck. Lobster roll, fish tacos and beer battered fish all good. Watched the lobster boats unload. Service a little slow but friendly.

Our first meal in Maine had to be lobster. Went to The Porthole (which has pet friendly seating outdoors). We both ordered twin lobster dinners. The lobster was really good, sweet and tasty, and the price could not be beat - market price at the...More

We enjoyed lobster rolls and salads at a picnic table out the back deck. The place was hopping and service kept things moving.

Very accommodating wait staff, good music playing. Draft beer in a plastic cub for $7 a pop seems a bit high but that's not a complaint. They have a great spot and I'll gladly pay for the view & good music.

Can’t review the food because we never got that far. We had a party of 6 people and got seated fairly quickly. Twenty minutes later we were still seated without even a staff member coming to our table for drink orders. We got up and...More

I hate to write a less than positive review for any restaurant, but since I happened to end up at the Porthole two times in 5 days, I feel that I should be up front and share my disappointment the second time around. My first...More

Visited on a Monday and the place was pretty quiet. I had the fish tacos, which were quite tasty, with flaky fish, pico de gallo and some relatively mild tartar-sauce like dressing. Onion rings were good too. My friend had fried clams which were really...More

I read some negative reviews but thought we would check for ourselves. Man, I’m glad we did! Awesome food all the way around and a good value. Picnic table seating outside wasn’t bad although it was a hot day. Our server, John, was terrific. Great...More

We enjoyed some drinks and some of the happy hour snacks at the port hole. We didn't stay for dinner but we enjoyed being outside with a whole bunch of people on the gigantic deck outside. The people are friendly the band was fun and...More

they do, but this time of year, the deck is hot and crowded. it's probably more about what your dog can endure, rather than what the restaurant allows.
