First time to sit inside for quite a while. Good to be back at the bar. Superb bartender, so friendly. We were here for HH and its a very good one for Portland and for us since it includes a decent wine selection for $8...and a draft beer for $5. Just perfect for Ann and I. We so enjoyed the spin-art-dip, just delicious. See you again sson.More

First of all, we are Mainers, lived in the Portland area our whole lives. We chose this place because of the reviews, 4-1/2 stars, and because we wanted to have a couple of cocktails and small bites for dinner. Our first disappointment was that there...was no outdoor seating in August; we all want to be outside in the summer in Maine! Second, it was an EXPENSIVE disappointment! My husband wanted a Mai Tai, but was told the bartender can only do the drinks on the menu. He ordered "On the Beach," hoping to approximate a Mai Tai, but it did not have good flavor or appropriate sweetness. I ordered the marguerita. It was good. However, the drinks were $15 each. That is expensive in Maine where most specialty drinks average $13. We had hoped to order some delicious small plates. My husband ordered pork tacos and I ordered the chicken skewers with spicy blueberrry sauce. The pork tacos were a meager portion, dry, and flavorless. The chicken skewers had no grill flavor, no grill marks, and the sauce with hot and spicy with no depth or sweetness to counter balance. Given the many restaurants and bars in the Old Port area that offer outdoor seating and the potential for better food, I would not recommend this bar/restaurant.More

So you're from Maine, you've lived in the Portland area your whole life, yet somehow failed to notice that we haven't had outdoor seating for a couple of years now? You should be writing to the City of Portland, Maine, to complain about that, not...More

I love this place -- the atmosphere, the food, the service, and most of all their specialty cocktails made with top shelf liquors and fresh ingredients. I got the pear martini this time around, and it was perfection.

We had a great evening at The North Point! It's a cozy place that makes you feel like you're at the home of a friend who loves art and amazing food. We shared a few plates: the brie wheel, the shishito peppers, the beet salad,...and the guacamole--they were all delicious! There's an extensive list of creative cocktails--our group enjoyed a refreshing sangria, a craft IPA, and a great Chardonnay.More

I'd been wanting to try this place for quite a while but it was always packed (it's a small space), but now the tourists are gone so it's easier to get in. The maple bourbon sour and the French onion soup were delicious. Candelit atmosphere,...attractive seating, nice bar, and lots of colorful art and other interesting things on the walls make for a great ambiance. Their specialty cocktail list is intriguing, as is their selection of meats, cheeses, and other small-plate items, and service is very friendly. And, they have a nice Happy Hour.More
