My friend took me here for my birthday and I was treated like royalty. There was a lovely 'Happy Birthday' note on our table. Several people came by to wish me 'Happy Birthday' but they avoided that tacky loud singing. Of course, the food was the highlight. We opted for the five course tasting menu. My friend and I ordered... More

The food was really really good, and the service was too. It was just my wife and I for an anniversary dinner and were there for over two and a half hours. It was very relaxing, and we did the al La carte with the servers choice. Plus a wine pairing with each dish. It was great choice and more... More

I was more disappointed with the value then the actual dinner at 555. The service was very good as was the atmosphere. I started with the beef tartare, which had an off-putting presentation and quite a bit of gristle. My dinner, a fresh pasta dish, was nice. I finished with cheese and grappa. Overall, with the exception of the tartare,... More

Thank you for your feedback. We will use your review to improve our offerings, as a matter of fact, the chef contacted me this morning telling me he was changing the tar tar based on the review. As you seemed to enjoy everything else but one dish, including the service and ambiance, we hope you will come back again, Regards,... More

My wife, daughter, and grandson enjoyed a very nice dinner at 555. Located just down the street from the Westin we were able to avoid the evening rain showers with a short block and a half walk ... we made a good choice. We had reservations at 6:45pm and were promptly seated in the bar area which was energetic on... More

We had heard about Five Fifty Five for quite some time but had never visited. The layout of the restaurant is unusual. It has an attractive bar and some tables in that area, other tables on the main level and then tables upstairs around a relatively narrow concourse. Nonetheless, the ambiance was comfortable. With the heat of the day, we... More

Service, as always, was impeccable. My food was excellent, my husband said his was "OK." The size of the portion was just right, not overwhelmingly huge, but not meager. We always ASK to sit upstairs (they won't guarantee it, but they'll try), where it's quieter and you can look down on the kitchen and be entertained with watching the food... More

Our staff was thrilled to hear you enjoyed your experience at 555. We have started cutting our bread serving larger, so hopefully that will make it feel less "skimpy," but thank you for pointing out that the complimentary service is unlimited, so you can always get more if needed. We hope to see you again soon, THank You, Michelle Corry,... More

My wife and I had heard good things about the 555 and we wanted a nice dinner out. The atmosphere was really nice (we sat upstairs) and the service was very good. The meal however was really no great. Both of us walked away saying "we won't go back!" I had a Pineland Farms steak that was 1/2 of what... More

We are so sorry to hear that you did not think the portion sizes were adequate. We work very hard on getting that part right, but as you can see some people think they are perfect, some people think they are small, and some people think they are too large. So we will continue to work on the portions to... More

Surprised to see about 62% of the reviewers rated 555 as excellent, I just didn't see the value for the high tariff. Atmosphere was fine, service was great, although the staff has obviously been trained to push wine sales as one of my friends had clearly indicated she was finished after one glass and was asked at least four more... We drove from Conn. to meet Miami friends starting their Maine vacation. "555" had been on our "go to" list, but neither couple had been there before. Our experience was 100% delightful. We started in the bar with cocktails from the imaginative selection. When ushered to our table, our half-consumed drinks were delivered refreshed & filled to the brim, an... More

we had the signature tasting menu, everything was very good, but nothing was great The desserts are awful. Corn bread ??? Basil ice cream ??? what are they thinking. and I found it insulting that they offered to sale us a half glass of wine. (not half bottle). We had just had two signature tasting menu's and a bottle of... More

Hello, Thank you for your feedback. We are very sorry you did not enjoy the desserts, and will be looking closely at them with our pastry chef. She does like to use different and exciting flavors and they usually meet with praise, but perhaps this was a miss. What I do not understand about your review, however, is why you... More
