Ordered from a local hotel, using the Portland 2dine app ( coved season no eating in). I was asked if I needed cutlery, I checked yes. I received one fork , one knife and 2 small spoons. No plates of any description. The meals arrived...in paper cups .1 pint size. And a box of rice.how the hell are you meant to eat this? Curry was average to be best, naan was terrible at best. To sum this experience up. If your traveling and need a Indian curry, and want to over pay and unless your prepared to dump your food out on the night stand and eat like animals don’t bother with this place.More

Ordered through 2dinein, and I don't know who was the chef tonight (6/13/2020) but it was absolutely amazing. The best food I've had from this restaurant yet, and I eat there often. Extremely well-cooked chicken and naan, they were tender and rich. The bhaji's seemed...like they were just made. The spices were abundant and flavorful. The cooks tonight deserve to know, they did it right.More

Was in Portland for a day and we were in the mood for Indian food. Restaurant was understated and casual. The service and food were excellent. We went on the early side around six on a Monday evening. Traffic in restaurant was light. Food seasoned...to our request and really enjoyed the meal. We had vegetable korma and Chicken Tikka masala.More

We eat Indian food about once per month and enjoy the heat and vegetable dishes. First time at this restaurant with my wife and a friend. We were hungry so ordered lots of dishes and 3 breads. The two nans were OK but one was...very undercooked and doughy. We also had poori which was bland and a bit undercooked. Coconut soup was thin and less savory than expected but had good flavor. The main dishes were well seasoned and well executed. Service was fair and the prices were reasonable. Easy to get to downtown location. Needs some maintenance outside on the steps where the handrail was unsecured and a bit dangerous if one grabbed it when off balance.More

It took 54 years of my life, but Hi Bombay was the first visit I have ever taken to an Indian restaurant and I really enjoyed it. I started off with the Chiken Soup and it was different then what I was expecting, but very...good. For an entrée it was the Chiken Tikka Masala and it was fabulous! Our server, Prakash, did a very good job and we can't wait to come back!More

Delicious, authentic (at least to a Brit who has eaten his fair share of curry) food at good prices with great service. And unlike most places in the states, if you ask for extra heat they actually make it spicier!
