So pleased to find a restaurant that serves just the right portion size, without all the gloppy sauce.. This is a small intimate restaurant. Very cozy. Good selection of wines. Excellent service. Loved the handmade pasta. Had the white bean ravioli in brown butter sauce...and it was exquisite. Flourless chocolate torte was perfect. Excellent service, too.More

We ate there to enjoy our birthdays and the food was fabulous. Great service and super desserts. A reasonable price for a very good Italian experience and food.

We were walking past Ribolitta when the smells coming from the restaurant lured us inside. It was a good choice because we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, the wine and the ambiance.

My wife and I just had dinner here and what a great find. Everything was outstanding, I had the linguine with shell fish and was blown away. the pasta was excellent and the shellfish very fresh. Watching the staff prepare the food you can tell...they care about their craft. Small place which helps keep it special.More

Loved our beautiful Italian dinner and service. A perfect meal out from antipasto to our fresh salads and delicious entrees. Such a cozy atmosphere and enjoyable dining experience . Love the choices of all Italian wines . I felt like we were in Italy as...we dined in Portland . Thank you for a lovely evening shared with our family.More

The service was fine- hence the 2 stars. But this is not Italian food. I ordered the cannelloni and as you can see- it was a cheese soup. This was inedible and something you would NEVER see in Italy. My husband ordered the pappardelle -...also pictured. This was slightly more edible but definitely not appetizing by look. Do not go here. There are much better places to spend time, money and support.More

Kitchen was slammed but everyone was working their butt off. Food was good, but we never got bread. Wine an appetizers were late but delicious!

We were warmly welcomed when we arrived early for our reservation and promptly seated. Our server, and I'm sorry I don't recall her name nor was it on our receipt when I checked this morning, was delightful. Helpful, knowledgeable about the products, attentive - everything...one wants a server to be. Was slightly disappointed we couldn't start the evening with a cocktail, as it is a beer/wine only establishment, but, the quality of the food made up for that. We were there for Maine Restaurant Week and selected from that menu. My husband had the stuffed pepper as an appetizer and I had the rustic vegetable and bread soup. Both were just right - full of flavor yet appealingly light somehow and refreshing. Entrees were a sole dish with pasta and I selected the pasta bolognese. Husband was happy with his dish; at first, having expected a rich meaty sauce in tomato, I was a bit taken aback by mine. However, by my second bite I was enchanted. Again, rich in flavor but light and interesting. You know a chef knows her business when servers don't come by to offer extra cheese - a delicious cheese had been freshly grated before serving and it was just the right hint of flavor. Other flavors and textures I couldn't quite identify but they were lovely together. The pasta was fresh and wonderful. And the desserts, included in the special, wonderful, too. Only drawback to this space is: tight quarters for most of the tables. However, we'll go back regularly, maybe early or late when there's less of a crowd.More

We loved this restaurant. Even though we had teenagers with us the staff and chef did not mind accommodating the picky palettes. The waiter was so wonderful allowing us to ask questions and guiding us to great choices. We enjoyed being next to the kitchen....The two chefs worked so quietly and fast. Little bursts of garlic and wonderful atmosphere. Can't wait to go again, adults-only this time so we can enjoy even more of the menu. Thank you to everyone!More

Ribolittas is outstanding Italian food with so many difficult choices so we will definitely return. Great wine list of reds and whites, friendly and efficient staff, well prepared foods and ambiance. Appetizers, soups, salads and deserts again great selections. I would love them to make...cannolis too.More

This small, Italian focused restaurant has a great combination of food and value. The night we went they had some specials that were quite good. They offer carafes of wine at an attractive price. Stay away from the door on a cold night.

The reviews were positive, but when we walked by at lunch (before they opened) and peeked in the window, we almost went elsewhere. So glad we didn't! We had a reservation, and good thing... All of the tables were full. My husband had a delicious...vegetable soup, and I had calamari lightly fried in a polenta batter. Both were wonderful, and so filling! My husband had a ravioli dish, with a side of sausage and greens, and I ordered the chicken saltamboca. Again, great choices, full of flavor. I have no idea how we managed to get through dessert... Ice cream drowned in an espresso shot. So good! Our server was attentive but didn't rush us at all. The prices were very fair. All in all, very happy with our evening!More

Nice authentic neighborhood Italian restaurant, pretty good value for Portland. Like the sidewalk tables in summer. Good variety of dishes and wines for a small restaurant. I’ve become a regular and the staff treats me special. I’ll be back!
