We loved this restaurant. Even though we had teenagers with us the staff and chef did not mind accommodating the picky palettes. The waiter was so wonderful allowing us to ask questions and guiding us to great choices. We enjoyed being next to the kitchen. The two chefs worked so quietly and fast. Little bursts of garlic and wonderful atmosphere. Can't wait to go again, adults-only this time so we can enjoy even more of the menu. Thank you to everyone!

We were warmly welcomed when we arrived early for our reservation and promptly seated. Our server, and I'm sorry I don't recall her name nor was it on our receipt when I checked this morning, was delightful. Helpful, knowledgeable about the products, attentive - everything one wants a server to be. Was slightly disappointed we couldn't start the evening with a cocktail, as it is a beer/wine only establishment, but, the quality of the food made up for that. We were there for Maine Restaurant Week and selected from that menu. My husband had the stuffed pepper as an appetizer and I had the rustic vegetable and bread soup. Both were just right - full of flavor yet appealingly light somehow and refreshing. Entrees were a sole dish with pasta and I selected the pasta bolognese. Husband was happy with his dish; at first, having expected a rich meaty sauce in tomato, I was a bit taken aback by mine. However, by my second bite I was enchanted. Again, rich in flavor but light and interesting. You know a chef knows her business when servers don't come by to offer extra cheese - a delicious cheese had been freshly grated before serving and it was just the right hint of flavor. Other flavors and textures I couldn't quite identify but they were lovely together. The pasta was fresh and wonderful. And the desserts, included in the special, wonderful, too. Only drawback to this space is: tight quarters for most of the tables. However, we'll go back regularly, maybe early or late when there's less of a crowd.

We noticed this place on our way past Duckfat and it looked really cute. After checking it out online (to make sure the kids would find items to their liking) we decided to go the next night. We were able to get a reservation for a Saturday night, and while they clearly were not as busy as they had been the evening before, we were pleased by the attentiveness of the staff (hostess and waitstaff) throughout. We shared the antipasto, and all enjoyed our entrees. Then two of us indulged in dessert (an affogato is always a treat!) while the others had coffee. Portions were good, service and timing was very good (things came out and then were cleared prior to the next course), and it was a charming little restaurant. Glad we found it!

My wife and I just had dinner here and what a great find. Everything was outstanding, I had the linguine with shell fish and was blown away. the pasta was excellent and the shellfish very fresh. Watching the staff prepare the food you can tell they care about their craft. Small place which helps keep it special.

So pleased to find a restaurant that serves just the right portion size, without all the gloppy sauce.. This is a small intimate restaurant. Very cozy. Good selection of wines. Excellent service. Loved the handmade pasta. Had the white bean ravioli in brown butter sauce and it was exquisite. Flourless chocolate torte was perfect. Excellent service, too.

Ribolittas is outstanding Italian food with so many difficult choices so we will definitely return. Great wine list of reds and whites, friendly and efficient staff, well prepared foods and ambiance. Appetizers, soups, salads and deserts again great selections. I would love them to make cannolis too.

First visit. I got the cannelloni filled with ground pork and it was delicious. The glass of Montepulciano d'Abbruzo was also good, as was the side of bread. I was surprised that the plain salad leaves on the side of the plate had no dressing at all, so I don't know why it was included, except for presentation. It's a small, cozy restaurant with two small dining areas and some ambiance. The menu was limited and didn't have many items on it that I was interested in. The only special they had was a salad dish. The prices were reasonable (for Portland).

The chef/owner, with very little assistance in the kitchen, produces delicious meals. Some of the pasta he makes himself, and there’s usually a special or two. On our visit the special appetizer was local sliced tomatoes. I had the seafood pasta, which was loaded with mussels and clams. The wait staff was charming and helpful and was generous with the wine pours.

It is a nice small ambience atmosphere. We enjoyed our meal. Be prepared. It is a lot. I love the price reasonable. I like the idea that I can look and see the chef while he was cooking. The waitress was very warm in supplying our needs.

The service was fine- hence the 2 stars. But this is not Italian food. I ordered the cannelloni and as you can see- it was a cheese soup. This was inedible and something you would NEVER see in Italy. My husband ordered the pappardelle - also pictured. This was slightly more edible but definitely not appetizing by look. Do not go here. There are much better places to spend time, money and support.

Excellent food and wine at very good price. The way the seating was sectioned off in small distinct areas added to the ambiance. We had a wonderful waitress who was extremely friendly, knowledgeable about food and wine options, and down to earth. When we return to Portland for another trip this restaurant will be at the top of our list.

There were some nice items on the menu. The restaurant was a convenient downtown location. It was however, very cramped. We were displeased when after one staff person had seated us, we witnessed a manager or someone scold that person and then ask us to move to yet another seat after we were all comfortable and looking at the menu. It was like something out of Fawlty Towers. It was simply not-on. Wherever we were, there was a fair amount of traffic and the bathrooms were small (though clean - likely because people can barely fit in them anyway). There seemed to be few or no options in terms of spirits to drink. Nor were soft drinks on the menu. These sorts of choices perhaps reflect a certain vibe proprietors like. Sadly for this customer, it left me feeling not all that welcome. Still, the food was good.

Loved our beautiful Italian dinner and service. A perfect meal out from antipasto to our fresh salads and delicious entrees. Such a cozy atmosphere and enjoyable dining experience . Love the choices of all Italian wines . I felt like we were in Italy as we dined in Portland . Thank you for a lovely evening shared with our family.

It had been awhile since we had visited Ribolita’s, but past experiences had been very positive. We were not disappointed. From the time we were greeted at the door until we had finished our desert and coffee, everything was wonderful. We would highly recommend Ribolita’s for a wonderful Italian meal

Loved our dinner at this friendly classic Italian restaurant - first time in Portland in a while and the dinner was just as super as before. Lovely little restaurant. Perfect cooked to order dishes. We shared the delicious mussels in pistachio butter. My husband's seafood pasta in a white sauce was perfect as was my eggplant rolled around a lovely ricotta filling with angel hair tucked on the side. The waitress was great. We look forward to returning.
