We were in Portland for the weekend. Our family includes one tween boy is (and we're not proud here) one of the pickiest eaters I have ever met. Which means we are usually limited to "family style" restaurants with crying babies and free refills of...soda - you know the kind of place. I mean, that's okay but when you're on vacation you want a fun experience, and since we were at the Portland Harbor, I was looking for some fresh seafood. Also right now of course our choices are reduced due to covid. We looked at Andy's menu online after walking by (looked like a basic pub type of restaurant) and the menu was nicely varied and met the picky one's needs. When we arrived, my first impression was it reminded me of many bars that I frequented in college - high tables with swivel chairs, nothing fancy. I had resigned myself to getting a frozen seafood meal or yet another cheeseburger. I ordered a basic adult beverage for myself and it was just right - like I would make for myself at home so that was a great start. Rest of the family had soda or milk. We didn't get any apps, so our meals came out fairly quickly. Our daughter got the steak tips / mash / small salad. We were concerned because she wasn't asked doneness for the steak but she said it was amazing. Not a lot of steak, but it was enough. The potatoes were really good - they were basic mashed potatoes but they were fluffy and delicious. The picky boy had chicken tenders with fries. Chicken tenders were really good, tasted like fresh chicken that had been breaded and fried there. But the fries. OH MY GOSH. We could not get over the fries. Whatever the magical combination is, these fries had it. They were salty and crispy and amazing. Husband and I both nibbled his fries until ours arrived. Husband had a cheeseburger which he enjoyed more than any other cheeseburger he has gotten in a restaurant in ages. And of course it came with the above mentioned fries. I had a fried seafood plate. For reference, we live on Cape Cod so I have seafood all the time. I was amazing with the fried clams and shrimp on my plate. Whatever batter they used, it was light and allowed me to taste the fresh shrimp inside. Nothing was greasy. I'm not sure if it was the coating or if it was the oil that they use for frying but the meal was incredible. If you are looking for a relaxed place to go for a meal that is not too expensive or fancy, I strongly recommend Andy's Old Port Pub. We will definitely keep it on our list of places to return to!More

Jeff helped us and was great! I ordered Fish and Chips and he pointed out that it could be grilled rather than fried. It was amazing. My husband ordered the 3 tacos: shrimp, fish and lobster. They weren’t fried they were broiled and light. Excellent!!!...Thanks Jeff!!More

I enjoyed the food here so much I ate here twice! I can attest that both the lobster Mac and quesadilla are super tasty. It was a great place to warm up and refuel after a long day of hiking.

Our lobster rolls were very good and the French fries as well. The clam chowder was soso. The beers on tap very good. Service was very good and they do practice social distancing. Nice place!

Unbelievably good Lobster Stew. Like slap your grandmamma good. Holy cow. The kids had pizza which was good. We also had a seafood roll with fried clams which was great. But that stew was terrific.

We came here while on vacation in Portland and we needed a quick place to eat after getting back in fairly late from Acadia. It was one of the only places open without a wait (we were quite hungry after hiking all day) and honestly...we weren’t expecting such good food and service! The beers were refreshing, the food was tasty and service was friendly and helpful. Would recommend.More

This is a great stop. Not fancy but food is excellent. I had a hot dog with baked beans and cole slaw. I know, you say “hot dog”? But I wasn’t that hungry and it was perfect. The hot dog was served on a lobster...roll and the beans were fabulous. Cooked with molasses. Wish I could get the recipe. I should have gotten one to go but we were on a cruise ship and couldn’t take food on board. We would definitely return.More

Great lobster roll and “Philly” sandwich. All of us loved our lunches and the staff was very friendly. Prices were very reasonable and the quality was excellent.

Although there is no children's menu, Andy's has pizza, chicken fingers, macaroni and cheese, veggie sticks and lots and lots of kid friendly foods. Andy's is a Pub, not a bar. Kids usually have a fun time at Andy's.
