Ten of us arrived Sunday afternoon for lunch after whale watching tour. Reviews were favorable and the menu had something for everyone. We were happy to get seating in the back room all for ourselves but despite lack of customers the service was very slow. There was one server and one cook who apparently was struggling that day. After the long wait, the pizza was completely burned to a crisp! I couldn’t believe anyone would actually try to serve what looked like a black frisbee with cheese on top…so we returned it. I should have taken a picture but I try to be kind to people working in restaurants and didn’t want to seem rude. The fish tacos were leftovers and the burgers were cold and bland. The beer could have been colder. We waited a long time for over priced unappetizing attempts and our server apologized and gave us our drinks for free. The bathroom floor was filthy and we all gulped down what we ordered and left very disappointed and confused that this place had such good reviews and ratings. Perhaps this is a good place for Friday and Saturday night live music and drinks but there are so many nearby restaurants with consistently good food even on Sundays.

We came here while on vacation in Portland and we needed a quick place to eat after getting back in fairly late from Acadia. It was one of the only places open without a wait (we were quite hungry after hiking all day) and honestly we weren’t expecting such good food and service! The beers were refreshing, the food was tasty and service was friendly and helpful. Would recommend.

Jeff helped us and was great!
I ordered Fish and Chips and he pointed out that it could be grilled rather than fried. It was amazing. My husband ordered the 3 tacos: shrimp, fish and lobster. They weren’t fried they were broiled and light. Excellent!!!
Thanks Jeff!!

The waiting line to Gilbert’s chowder house was long and the new owner of Andy’s came out to invite the prospective customers. We checked the menu and the ratings and accepted the offer. What a disappointment it was! The lobster roll was terrible - there were literally 2 tiny pieces of lobster in each roll. We showed the owner the picture of what what was advertised on the website and couldn’t believe what we heard in return - “the restaurant is under the new management”.

Good atmosphere and location, but service at bar was really slow at 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Only 2 other people at bar. I had the highest hopes for the food as it was recommended by hotel shuttle driver. Sadly, the New England clam chowder was really thin and was only barely warm. The lobster roll sandwich was priced on average with other local restaurants, but didn't have much flavor. I had to ask for utensils to eat my coleslaw and for ice tea refills.

We are here on first night in Portland, and it was a great choice. Fish and chips were wonderful, fish was super fresh and batter was light and crispy.
Hamburgers made with good meat. Onion rings were the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great meal without a massive wait.

Stopped for lunch and found it not too busy. The food was very good; we had both the lobster roll and the fish and chips as well as the blueberry pie. As a newcomer to lobster rolls, I was skeptical if I would enjoy it, but it was tasty. Service was a little slow and we were in a hurry, but was passable. The only major downside that was an unpleasant surprise was that their website does not reflect their current menu and is much more limited, so if you're using the online menu, you might be disappointed with the selections available, especially since the prices went up.

Nothing special. I spent 8 days traveling the New England states, this was by far the worst experience of the whole trip. The service was horrible, lobster roll was underwhelming and overall it was just not worth the time or money spent there.

The actual menu was significantly more limited than on the website. I ordered the Mac and cheese with steak tips. It was fantastic. Seriously delicious. My husband enjoyed his fish and chips. I tried the fries. They were so good! Service was slow, but there was really only one waitress working the entire busy place.

After eschewing a nearby $40 parking lot, our party of six entered an empty Andy's at 6 pm on a sunny weeknight when most other dining spots near the water were fully booked. The entryway was unprepossessing, and the interior décor was downscale. The menu as sparse but the wait staff very pleasant and responsive. The Ruben and burger were fine , as was the shrimp scampi special

Went here day after Christmas, almost no food left in stock. What was served was just not up to par, limp lukewarm fries, tiny amount of lobster meat in the lobster roll, fried fish sandwich was like a soggy lump of fish on a roll. Service was not efficient, had to walk up to the bar to finally pay our tab, Would not return,

We ended up at Andy's on a Friday night after getting blown out the door at a pub up the hill with supersonic noise. We had walked by Andys several times and this was our chance It was about 6 and we were about the only people in there but it kept steadily filling up, seemingly everyone there was a local regular The person tending bar seated us and gave menus and drinks list, and our server was right over after. The drinks were very good. My daughter ordered the lobster taco- 2 of them in fact and said they were extremely good. I was sea-fooded out after a long vacation, so I picked the school house favorite, chicken tenders and fries. Like the menu said, lightly breaded and extremely tender, I took buffalo style and they were just spicy enough. There was an acoustic band setting up as we were finishing up, we stayed to listen to them and got extra drinks and even ordered desert which we never ever do (blueberry pie ) to stay a little longer. There was a large table of seniors across from us, maybe escaped the nursing home for a night out, more localsbut they were having a great time with the dinner and music. Andy's was just a chance encounter, but it was a good one. The food and drinks were good, the service was fine and the atmosphere was fun. If I was a local, Id be at Andys every Friday too

Great food, served hot and very tasty breakfast. Clean, and tables well spaced. Don’t judge a book by its cover! Omelettes were yummy, toast homemade, and crispy hash as we specified!

We stopped into Andy’s for a Sunday lunch. The place was filling up. Service was slow. We ordered the chowder and a lobster roll. The setting is casual but authentic and fun. They offer live music in the evenings.
The food was so-so. The lobster roll was small and pricey. The chowder was better and clearly homemade. There are lots of choices along the docks; this was not our best choice.

Andy’s was a lucky find after taking a trolley tour of Portland. Had Fiddlehead draft IPA and Crown & Coke before eating the best Fried Green Tomatoes this Virginia farm girl ever ate, delicious Clam Chowder, too many lightly battered Fried Shrimp, hand cut fries, and buttery Lobster on folded Texas Toast. Clam Chowder was creamy and generous with clams. Lobster roll was full of fresh chunks of lobster served with more than enough melted butter. Finished off with Blueberry pie with the flakiest tender crust ever! Service was outstanding and called for a 25% tip. We passed up many places, that had lines out the doors, for Andy’s, which is Portland’s best kept secret. Well, not to the locals, that’s who we had lunch with.
