The line is long for a reason! Everything they bake is amazing. So if you are looking for coffee and a light breakfast or lunch, or you need some baked goods for a dinner party, it is the place to go.

Sincerely: Everything you would expect from a Parisian patisserie/boulangerie. Some savory items as well that are perfect for a picnic lunch. Also self serve coffees and teas. Don't miss this gem right near the ferry terminal, take your picnic out into Casco Bay for a scenic cruise. It will be a highlight of your visit to Portland! Magnifique! P.S. We... More

Excellent breads particularly challah baguette and rolls. A little difficult to find a place to park especially around 4-5 pm

A must try in Portland. The choice of freshly baked goods is insane. Almond croissant and asiago pizzas are our favorites - but it's so hard to lock in on something because it's all so good.

Visit this bakery early in the day for best selection....they run out of pastries and certain breads early in the day so make this an early stop on your itinerary. Every bakery treat we tried was outstanding and the loaves of bread are very generous, crispy, yet light. Coffee is spectacular too and prices are fair.

Grabbed our coffee there while staying at the Hilton (coffee there was lousy). Essentially shares the same parking lot as the hotel. Fresh bakery items. Almond croissant was nice.

I have always loved this bakery & am finally writing a review! Love the morning buns! The breads are to die for as well as the array of cookies...breads & cookies are different...not your run of the mill variety! Place these wonderful delights on your table & your guests won't leave one morsel on their plate!

My husband and I LOVE Standard Baking Company. We first discovered the wonderful bread they produce while dining at local high end restaurants that serve their magnificent "Rustica" bread. We would actually make a point of eating at those restaurants because of the bread. Then we discovered the charming bakery itself, tucked away in an old brick building set back... More

I have been buying bread from standard baking since they opened. I have never been disappointed with any item that I purchased from them. And I have traveled all over the United States and some far points of the world and I have never had any better bread.

Standard Baking is gem. FRESH bread is always a draw, but having several different tyes is totally awesome. The buttery croi and sticky buns are worth every penny you spend.

Thank Amy S
