Baked goods are average. Really not worth the long line. Food is not bad, it's good. It's just not "fantastic". So, don't make a big detour to come here. I tried about 4 different items. They were okay.

Wonderful cookies, brownies, scones, coffee. Loved the chocolate brownies! My husband and I each had one and thought they were delicious.

Visited the baking company around 7:05AM, since they open at 7:00 and already there was a line to get in ( a good sign ). I went for their wonderful molasses cookies which smell like Christmas and taste just as wonderful! On an impulse I bought an almond croissant ...... hands down it was the best almond croissant I have... More

We stopped here on our way to the ferry for a coffee and pastry and it was great! Highly recommend the morning bun! Very inexpensive as well.

We were visiting Portland on a Saturday when we came across this bakery. We bought molasses spice cookie, apricot scone, cranberry walnut scone. Also an asiago roll, all seed roll and olive bread. No exaggeration, the scones were best ever tasted. The rolls were crusty and moist at the same time. We were getting on plane and took the rolls... More

A pastry and a cup of coffee that's perfect for walking around Portland or if you're taking Casco Bay Lines out to the islands. Breads have great texture and crust... try the cheese ficelle or the olive fougasse, maybe a sticky bun. Everything is awesome.

As soon as we walked into the door we were drawn to Standard Baking. The very small retail area is awash in the smell of the freshly baked breads that surround you and almost make your mouth water. The breads are baked daily on site and are superb. We tried four of five varieties over more than a week in... More

Wanted to take something to carry and eat on early morning flight. The sales woman was helpful in helping us select rolls and treats that would be good the next day. Rolls with raisins and nuts were very good as were the apricot and raspberry butter cookies.

Our never ending search for a decent rye bread led us to a drive by and we were so happy to find that not only do they have a Vollkornbrot for Dad - but a great Baguette for Mom. As bakers they both always want a loaf or two to go...so it was a hard decision to take just two.... More
