This was embarrassing. Even the server cringed and apologized. For $5.48 a serving of gelato was, no kidding, a large thimble size. This is a great brand of product (Gelato Fiasco) that should not be sold in Bonobo in this way. I'm surprised they allow it if they are aware.

I had a slice of their cheese pizza. The brick oven crust was thin just as I like it. The sauce was flavorful and it had the right amount of cheese, not too little or too much. Overall, a very good slice.

Cool West End neighborhood restaurant, a "hidden gem". Monday 1/2 off wine and beer brings in a crowd, the restaurant was full with young 30 somethings. The Gazpacho special was fantastic, and the French onion soup beats most competitors. We samples 2 pizzas with generous toppings: "Gruyere" and "Goat" cheese pizza both on gluten free very thin crusty crust. The... More

This was our favorite pizza place in Portland for the last 2-3 years (we are locals) until our most recent visit last week. The service was still good, the menu and atmosphere pretty much unchanged. But the pizza was terrible. We ordered two pizzas: one pepperoni and one was a house special for that day. The crust on both was... More

Been here several times. The ambience is pretty good...great lighting and decorated in a very cozy, quaint way. Some have views of the kitchen, but you can also see the wood fired oven, which is like a having a fire place in the room. :) Staff is pretty friendly. The ceasar salad dressing was pretty bland. They used to serve... More

Local pizza/bar place. Not a traditional pizza parlor, more of the brick oven flat bread variety. Service was good, pizza was good, but will get a different type on next visit as it wasn't what I expected -- that's on me, not the restaurant. Pretty relaxed atmosphere. Overall, it is very good, worth a second look.

We love Pizza and lived just around the corner from this place for 6 months and only stopped in once. It was ok but the ambiance was so-so and theres much better pizza just a short walk away. I will say that I liked the DIY vibe from the decor and there was nothing WRONG with anything. Its just a... More

Bonobos is a neighborhood-type place with a bar as well as tables. It was not crowded on the Friday night 6 pm when we visited, and it was not too noisy to chat together. It was our first visit and we liked it a lot. The brick oven burning warmly adds to the ambiance on a cold winter evening. We... More

this place uses a solid brick wood burning open oven to do their pizza and what a difference. tastes old world. their pizza is 13" and up; the mix of toppings creative and location is a bit off the beaten track which means the biz is mostly local, which means you can actually get in without a six month advance... Small neighborhood place with some tables overlooking the wood-fired oven. Nice atmosphere and reasonable prices.
