Dips/spreads are excellent as is the pita. I find the scallops to be too rare for my liking but that's a preference thing. The chicken souvlaki is amazing. Looking forward to a return trip.

Meal here was a wonderful treat and highly recommended on the basis of this one visit. Shared a spanakopita and a baklava on either side of plates of beautifully prepared thick lamb chops on nicely seasoned vegetables served with sprigs of thyme and rosemary. Nice...More

We ordered 3 different spreads and several apps to start with small plates. None of them disappointed. The chicken livers were a stand out surprise. Several of us had the swordfish kabobs, the lamb loin chops, and finally the eggplant vegetarian entree. Everything was cooked...More

On our B and B host's recommendation we went for an evening meal here. Could not possibly have done better. The 'spreads' (tsatsiki, taramosalats, etc.) were all delicious and served with extremely moreish fresh baked flat bread that we were nibbling after the spreads were...More

All shared appetizers were well prepared and flavorful. Highly recommend the dipping spreads (tzatziki and eggplant are not to be missed) with sufficient fresh, tasty pita to eat with our main dishes. Enjoyed entrees from swordfish to moussaka; portions were generous and creative while still...More

Very impressive, cozy space. We had such excellent service and food, we were compelled to congratulate the owner before we left. Portland restaurants have a lot of competition, and this is one of the best we have experienced. Ample portions, fresh fresh fresh ingredients, and...More

The restaurant didn't distinguish itself in any way--food, ambiance, or service. We had a reservation, but were kept waiting half an hour. There are several Greek wines on the menu and it would have been helpful to have some descriptions of them--dry, fruity, etc.--to help...More

Emilitsa is a Greek restaurant located in the arts district of Portland, Maine and boasts a contemporary and casual atmosphere. Emilitsa brings a wide array of Mezethes (small plates), Megala Piata (large plates), and pristinely fresh seafood to the seacoast area. We honor the breadth of traditional cuisine from all regions of Greece. We prepare our Greek dishes with as many local, fresh, organic and natural ingredients as are available to us. We also accommodate those with food allergies.
