Our two main dishes (we chose not to have appetizers or salads) were lamb and fish. The first, “paithakia galaktos tis skaras,” was described on the online menu as “marinated grass-fed grilled baby lamb loin chops, sautéed baby spinach, and a feta-parsnip potato mash drizzled with unfiltered extra virgin olive oil”; the latter, “tsipou´ra tis skaras,” was a “whole daurade... My husband and I enjoyed a pre-theatre dinner at Emilitsa last night and it's easy to see why this restaurant is so highly rated on TripAdvisor -- the food is outstanding!! To start we were served a complimentary lentil/fava spread with onions and crostini -- delicious. We then shared the saganaki with balsamic peppered figs which was perfect for sharing... More

I'd made a reservation, and as soon as we walked in the door, we were greeted by a gentleman/manager(?) who guessed my name (even though we were 15 minutes early) and the experience took off from there. He provided great service. Having lived in Greece briefly, the octopus and greek salad (forget what it's called on their menu) were authentic... More

An amazing meal! The food was so so delicious, fresh, yummy! We shared a beet salad, saganaki, pita with dip for appetizers. We shared swordfish, lamb burgers, mousakka for dinner, for dessert we shared a rice pudding and a chocolate dish with Greek yogurt. So amazing! The service was amazing, the restaurant was very comfortable.....we can't wait to go back... More

Food was very good but there were 4 of us sharing 3 dips and despite asking for extra pita bread many times and by different individuals we did not get it until just before our entrees were served and our server had cleared our cutlery and small plates. We are friends for decades so we muddled through and laughed but... More

All my requirements for an excellent meal were fulfilled. Atmosphere, food that was fresh and delicious and more complicated than I would prepare at home and knowledgable and friendly service. We were late and stuck in traffic. Our reservation was honored on a busy night in August so we began grateful for our table being saved. Cocktails excellent, wine well... More

First night in Portland and wow what a start. Emilitsa is small but comfortable. We were seated immediately upon arrival at our reservation time. Grilled octopus was delicate and tender. Of the 3 dipping sauces, the tzatziki was #1, then the eggpalnt then the taromasalta. The latter was a little salty and would have been helped in texture and taste... More

We had a spectacular Greek meal from beginning to end. The restaurant is attractive but not very big - MAKE RESERVATIONS. My wife and I started with a drink at the bar. The cucumber infused lemon mint martini was extremely refreshing. We were quickly seated and ordered a trio of spreads with perfectly cooked pita. The eggplant dip was smoky,... More

I have been here at least 6 times and I have never been disappointed! Food is delicious and healthy, ambiance is lovely, dessert is delightful. Wines are little known Greek varietals, but staff is very helpful with selections. I have taken my children, who are foodies, but this would not be your typical family place.
