One of our favorite restaurants is Zatinia in Washington, DC and we found that Emilitsa matches their inventive interpretation of traditional Greek recipes. We shared meze appetizers of taramasalata, fava, and a special of Dahl lentils, after which we shared the skewered swordfish entrée. All...More

Excellent food. Best Greek I have had. Obvious attention to the details. I had mousaka and my companion had pork chop. Ever so tasty.

Food was delicious, staff attentive and atmosphere cozy. Not big portions but each item was so full of flavors. We had the house (greek) salad, beet salad, grilled octopus and Greek sausage appetizer on bread. Loved all of it!

This is a gem that Portland visitors might overlook in its Arts District location. It is welcoming, warmly decorated, and the staff is cheerful and skillful. The menu is limited but the offerings are beautifully executed and richly flavored. The bream in the photo had...More

The Food was authentic Hellene! We were so spoiled by the staff and the owner while sitting at the bar, that we kept ordering. You definitely need reservations as they were packed on a Tuesday. Efharisto and Opa! to Emilitsa

Yes, you'll see your usual options, but there are so many specialty items on the menu you'll want to try. Get the fig and sagagnaki which is also great, btw, for breakfast the next morning. When you order the whole fish, Darby will be able...More

Had to try this with all the great reviews. Unfortunately they were short staffed the night we were there which meant wine and beer only. So no specialty drinks that are a feature. Also sitting in the front room meant little walk by waiter activity...More

Description
Emilitsa is a Greek restaurant located in the arts district of Portland, Maine and boasts a contemporary and casual atmosphere. Emilitsa brings a wide array of Mezethes (small plates), Megala Piata (large plates), and pristinely fresh seafood to the seacoast area. We honor the breadth of traditional cuisine from all regions of Greece. We prepare our Greek dishes with as many local, fresh, organic and natural ingredients as are available to us. We also accommodate those with food allergies.
