This favorite spot for locals falls somewhat short of our expectations. The reason is simple: they use too much bread crumbs on dinners! Regardless of whether you order scallops or shrimp, it's smothered in salty buttery bread crumbs. We suggest using larger shrimp also. Other dinners such as fish and chips provides great fish, but the batter used lacks flavor.... More

We are sorry that our restaurant fell short of your expectations. We like to let the taste of the seafood do all of the work as far as flavor of the food is concerned. Like other good seafood restaurants, we use a cracker based breading for the seafood, which tends to gain some volume when it is fried, but is... More

Now, to be fair, unless it's spoiled or excessively overcooked, it's hard to find a bad lobster roll anywhere, but some do standout a bit more than others when all is considered, and Erica's does! My husband and I were on a "best lobster roll" mission last week staying in Yarmouth ME. We had our first one from high rated... More

I can see why this place is packed every night I drive by it. We had clam strips, whole belly clams, french fries, onion rings, crab cake, everything was perfectly cooked not expensive I would say not heavy oily greasy lightly battered perfect. We are definitely going to make this a place to go. Not much for parking because it's... More

The fried seafood here is great. It's best to stay and eat there when it's fresh out of the kitchen. There is comfortable outdoor picnic table seating. Also make sure to get the fries, they are the breaded variety and finish out the total fried food experience. Service speed depends on how busy they are but quite quick.

The Lost Gull is a convenient seafood restaurant in Oxford/Welchville. Unfortunately to make it look like your getting a hugh platter of food for $23 they load and I mean load the French fries on and then place the rest on top. The portions for the clams, scallops, haddock, and shrimp are quite inadequate. The last time I went in... More

We are sorry that you are not satisfied with the portions. It is not a complaint that we usually see. The Fisherman's platter you are speaking of is guaranteed to have over a pound of seafood, and each item is weighed out to ensure consistency with each platter. The platter is meant to feed 2-3 people, which is why there... More

This is such a fun place! Thoughtfully, it has dinning areas outdoors, as well as covered, and screened in. They have a platter where you can select a trio of delicious fried seafood selections with a heaving pile of french fries. So good!

We were told that this was a great place for lobster. Had the lobster roll and lobster stew. Both were excellent. The stew was so full of lobster and the roll was pure lobster and no filler

Thank you! Among all the great things you have said, two words stick out to us; "no filler". You are absolutely right. We let the lobster do all of the work for us. No relish, lettuce, or slaw in our rolls! See you again soon! More

Hard to park as the restaurant is very popular. No amenities but the clam roll, clam chowder and haddock chowder were to die for. You wait in line, place your order and wait for your number. Seating is outside and is nothing fancy. 2 clam rolls and one each clam and haddock chowder was $32.00.

Thank you Elaine for the high remarks on our food. I'm glad you enjoyed the clam roll, and you have pointed out the reason why we go through so much chowder.
