On beautiful Perkins Cove next to the lobster pound and docks. This is usually our first stop in OGT for lunch. Lobster roll with clam chowder , home made cole slaw hits the spot. They also have clams, lobster dinners, and great Tee shirts. Love this place

A delightful surprise at the end of Perkins Cove. We chose to eat inside as opposed to getting take out at the window. We stood in line outside perusing the menu while waiting to be seated. The hostess was friendly, and kept everyone informed of how long a wait. Inside is rustic with picnic tables. We ordered the chowder which... More

We all enjoyed great dinners!! Lobster, crab cake, chowder and chile. Everything tastes great. Small place, but they have seating you, down to a science. We waited in line, but it moved quickly. Didn't feel rushed either when we were enjoying our meal. Attentive staff. Overall a great place to eat.

First time we had been here. Seafood is one of the best we've ever had in Maine! It's a small place inside, but they also have a take out window just outside. We were there on a Monday about 6pm in late August, hardly any crowds. However, when we left there was a line to get in. We had steamers... More

Picnic tables, very casual, but you will not be disappointed with the food. The clam chowder is amazing. The lobster roll is fresh, delicious and has the biggest chunks of lobster in it.

For a New Englander, this place seemed pretty typical in terms of lobster rolls and related sides. We stood in line for about 20 minutes to find plenty of seating inside and plenty of pleasant, perky staff, so assume the hold up is in the kitchen. For $17 the lobster roll was clearly fresh, nicely seasoned, but small, and comes... More

We were staying in the Riverside Motel (across the bridge) from the Cove. So we ventured over (after checking in) to have or 1st lobster roll. It was busy but they are efficient and we were handled very quickly. It is a no-frills place...but that is fine. It was very clean and the staff most friendly.

This is by far the best restaurant in Perkins Cove. Very casual location, with incredible food. My son loved the lobster. He chose the chips & corn on the cob. They didn't stand a chance. The chowder was the best I've ever had. They mixed Clams and Haddock, in a creamy, seasoned broth. Outstanding! Wish I ordered sauteed fish, but... More

Enjoy lobster, steamers, lobster rolls, chowder and a whole lot more in a friendly, casual atmosphere. Live lobsters caught by local lobstermen wait in tanks filled with ocean water coming straight from the cove. Choose your size and two sides. For all the taste without the work, have a lobster roll any way you like it...a quarter pound single, double-stuffed, triple, or an entire pound on a buttery toasted roll with or without mayo. The lobster wrap and lobster BLT are also recently added favorites. Homemade chowder made from an old family recipe is a great way to start your meal, there's no thickening flour just the perfect combination of clams, fish, potatoes, onions and spices in a milk and cream base. The "Shack" has been owned and operated by the Evans family since the 1980s and is proud to serve the hottest chowder and the coldest beer in town. Let Jason, his family and his crew provide you with a true Maine eating experience in the oldest restaurant in Perkins Cove...
