First, there are two Barnacle Billy's, basically side by side. One is where you order from the counter then they deliver your food and the menu is very limited. The other one is a full service restaurant with a much larger menu selection. This review is for the full service restaurant. The interior of the restaurant was nice and the... More

I stopped at Barnacle Billy's for lunch on my first visit to Maine. I had been anxiously awaiting to taste my first Maine Lobster Roll. Unfortunately I was less than impressed. For nearly $20 I received a hot dog sized bun with a smallish amount of cold chewy lobster meat and a side of fries. Although somewhat tasty, I left... More

There are two restaurants side by side. One is more a dining restaurant and the other is more a cafeteria style restaurant. Both are known for their delicious seafood. They also serve other fares. They both also have outdoor dining weather permitting.

Went there last Sun (Oct 30), and was dismayed to see that the pound side had closed for the season. Went next door to the full service restaurant, which is very nice. They had a nice lunch menu and served the same bar specialties as the pound (Rum Punch, oh yes!). Despite the rain, we were very happy to be... More

This is a great spot to eat lobster. The first time we were here we saw former President George Bush and his wife Barbara. That was exciting but the lobster was better. You place your order a the counter ordering by the pound. They call your number when your order is ready. The chowder and the garlic bread are also... More

Visited this place around 2pm and walked in the front door, sunlight to dark, and had to read a menu printed in small print on the wall, and hand scrawled on chalkboards. Tried to order from a young man behind the counter and he said "Ya gotta order from Frankie" most rudely. So, Frankie said: "Come on, hurry up, what... More

Young wait staff seemed a little tired (3:00 pm on a Friday) and didn't really do anything at all more than what we asked. We had others join us which added to the group of three becoming 7. It was off season so plenty of space so we pulled over a table. Seemed more like he was happy to see... More

My husband and I each a cup of Clam Chowder and shared an order of Steamers. Both were very good! It was a chilly night and we appreciated the fire in the fireplace!

We stopped in for a light supper and really enjoyed it. Service was great! Hubby & I each ordered the chowder; he the clam & I had the fish. We really love it, not too thick, but packed with clams or fish and nicely seasoned. It came with delicious sour dough rolls & butter. A perfect light meal! We indulged... More
