When I am in Ogunquit, i always make sure that I have, at least, one meal at Nikanos Mediterranean Bar & Grill and, unless my time frame is a constraint, I always opt for the wonderful brunch there (although the few times I have had...lunch or dinner there, those meals have certainly not disappointed). An added bonus to brunch at Nikanos is to have it at the bar and be tended to by Nicholas (and Dylan)!More

We dined here on three different evenings during our 2+ week vacation in Ogunquit. A beautiful restaurant with superb food, drinks and service. Locally owned and well managed. You won't be disappointed.

We visited here shortly after Nikanos opens and had a great time. Three years later we returned with friends and family for what was a wonderful dinner and night out. The outdoor dining is very stylish and lit well. The menu offers so many choices....I loved the greek chicken lemon soup (wow) and all the entries were great. Super drinks, outstanding service (the owner came over which is always nice) and a small band, which I normally do not prefer, was wonderful and helped make the evening more festive. Certainly dine here!!More

Staff not sharp, they used a lot of young kids that seemed more interested in how they looked than getting down to business of serving. Food was fair. My lamb shish was tough and grizzly. I hate that. I had heard such good thing about...the restaurant that I thought I could chance ordering lamb but that was a mistake as it wasn't trimmed well enough.More

We were looking to try something unique at Ogunquit and picked out Nikanos through reading the reviews. The food and ambience was awesome. The setting was cozy and had a sense of nostalgia. The staff was caring and the service was wonderful. We lost track...of time and did not realize that our cinch bag was left at the restaurant until we were back at home in PA. We called the restaurant with a very slim hope that we might manage to get the bag back. The staff was very kind and returned our bag via mail. We felt very grateful and wish Nikanos best of luck!!More

We are a large group who go to Ogunquit for a week every summer. We are usually 10-15 people for dinner, and Nikanos had no trouble accommodating us. Our waiter whose name escapes me at the moment, was courteous, efficient and funny. The food arrived...piping hot and was delicious! Drinks were great too! Definitely a restaurant we would go back too. If you are vacationing in Ogunquit, check it out! You won’t be disappointed!More

I had a Greek village salad. I was very disappointed. I am used to Greek village salads smothered in Olive oil and served with bread so you can drench your bread in the infused oil with tomatoes, cukes, onions and feta. Tomatoes and cukes were rock...hard from being in the refigerator already cut instead of being cut to serve. Not much olive oil. No bread and salad lacked salt any flavor.More

We were fortunate to hear about Nikanos through friends. The drinks and food were delicious and the service was excellent. The restaurant had a lively vibe with a mix of locals and tourists alike. We were pleasantly surprised when a band set up to entertain...us. Even though the restaurant is cozy we were grateful to enjoy the music and as well as our conversations. The hostess/ owner was very attentive, checking in on us several times during our visit. We tried signature cocktails, the 3 spread appetizer, the catch of the day, souvlaki , Nikanos pasta ( which was overflowing with seafood not pasta), baklava and a custard pie Everyone was thrilled with their choices and made mental notes of what they’re going to order next time. We wish Jennifer and Mark continued success and look forward to our next trip to ogunquit!More

Delish food and excellent service. Best falafel that I’ve ever had! Moist and yummy! Soup was carrot bisque which was another home run! Hubby had a gyro and really enjoyed it. We will be back again!

I had read several horrible reviews of this restaurant, at least one of which blasted a particular waitress, Andrea. I decided to give the restaurant a chance and, as luck would have it, I was seated at Andrea's station. I found her to be very...helpful and accommodating. She offered me a taste of several wines because I was unfamiliar with most on the wine list. I ended up choosing the one she recommended initially. I ordered the lamb with rosemary and garlic which had roasted potatoes and broccolini. The crumb coating was so good, I asked Andrea if I could get the recipe (I always ask when I'm on vacation if it is something different and tasty) which I was unable to get. The potatoes were crunchy outside while being soft and creamy inside. The portion of meat was way too large (four huge, thick slices of leg of lamb). Throughout the meal, Andrea checked back with me to see if I needed anything else, which I did - a second glass of wine. I know that service has suffered in these times of Covid, but Andrea made by visit to Nikanos an enjoyable evening. Thank you!More

Everything about our experience here was excellent. The hostess was so nice and helpful in seating us outside with enough heaters to keep my family warm and happy. John was our server and he was outstanding-so attentive, friendly and helpful to everyone in our party....The food was ahhmazing!!! Incredibly fresh and DELICIOUS. Cheers to the chef!!! Some of the things we ordered (and LOVED) Appetizers- Crispy Ikarian Zucchini Wheels with tzatziki, Spanakopita; Main Dishes-Halibut (Catch of the Day), Greek Lamb and Vegetable Moussaka, and Desserts-Baklava (Mmmmmm! Sooo good!) Whether you are in the mood for a wonderful Greek restaurant or just in the mood for a wonderful restaurant where you are very well treated and very well fed, I highly recommend Nikanos.More

My wife and I ate dinner here in the heated outdoor dining area. I had the grilled octupus and the warm eggplant bruschetta which I thought was excellent. However, I am only giving an average rating as the price of the octupus was $1.00 higher...on the bill than the one that were quoted, and the wine was 1.00 more than the menu price. This is why I am rating the value as poor. In addition, my wife ordered the Greek cheesecake for dessert which was suppose to come with berries, but the waiter brought it with an unripe peach instead as he said it was in season. He should have checked with us before hand to see if this substituion was okay.More
