We were out for bourbon and appetizers at Ogunquit restaurants. Brix and Brine rose to the occasional. Perfect raw oysters and a delicious, creamy fish chowder. The excellent, friendly bartender introduced us to a new bourbon. We loved it!
The bar was hopping but was...still comfortable. The restaurant is located outside and I believe they will be closing for the season. When they re-open, check this place out.More
Interesting menu, well prepared. Service casual but attentive and gracious. Comfortable relaxed meal and very nice experience. Prices very good for fresh seafood and creative food. Just what we were looking for on a mid week getaway.
I’ve eaten here twice in the last week. The lobster roll is the best I’ve ever had - so good we went back two days later. The waitress Shelagh served us both times - she remembered us and our previous order including which beer! Second...visit tried the oysters which were perfect.
This is a comfy outdoor spot that does not take a res, but line moved pretty quickly, and the hostess was fantastic at communication. Good cocktails and appetizers. The steamed mussels were really good as was the roasted cauliflower. Steak had good flavor but was...a bit tough, probably due to the cut. Wait staff excellent.More
We were hungry after a day at the beach, so we came here at 4:30. Plenty of open tables, which started to fill up shortly thereafter. We ordered oysters, seafood chowder, clam chowder, and shrimp tacos; all were excellent (and we are picky!). Our waitress...was great. We will definitely come here again next time we are in town!More
We both had the fish & chips (haddock). Delicious! I see that another reviewer actually found out what that marvelous crust was made of - thanks! The service was great and we enjoyed the atmosphere. We would have returned again during the trip if we...had the opportunity.More
My wife and I went here so I could have oysters. They have a different selection each day, but I can recommend the "Moondance" (sweet, delicate) and the "St. John" (peppery).
I had the crab and avocado salad and my wife had the fried haddock....They use rice flour and fry in canola; the result is a delicate crust which isn't oily. I got a taste and it was really good.
They have a choice of local beers on draft, too. This place hit all of my high points for a restaurant.
You sit outdoors under big umbrellas, so it's seasonal.More
My wife and I had a great meal at Brix + Brine on Saturday night to celebrate our anniversary. While the hostess was stoic, which gave me pause, our server and the remaining staff were welcoming and accommodating. My hot lobster roll was spot on....My wife ordered the crab and avocado salad which was also excellent. Nice selection of local craft beer and I enjoyed some Bissell Brothers on draft, while my wife ordered a cocktail with a frozen orchid in the middle. All in all a great experience and I look forward to coming back with the family this week. In my experience, many restaurants in downtown Ogunquit really milk the location and get away with sub-par food and service (had a nightmare experience at Crew Ogunquit in July—see my review). Not Brix + Brine. Nice place and looking forward to Thursday.More
As Hemingway put it: The taste of oysters from the sea with their cold oyster liquor washed down with a chilled glass of white wine,,,,, Nothing better than this! Great seafood at every turn, The waitress Lisa was simply one of the best and super...professional. This one is not to be missed.More
The drinks were good but the calamari sucked! It was like eating cardboard. The service was terrible, we weren’t asked how everything was until I asked for the check. As for the cleanliness they certainly aren’t being too fussy with COVID policies. It just goes...to show that when visitors are hungry and need a drink they don’t know any better. This was a first and last visit for us, there are too many choices that exceed this offering.More
