We like to sample donuts when we travel and these were so good, we went for a second trip! Their Apple glazed and chocolate glazed were fabulous!

On Main St in Northeast Harbor. Comfortable diner food, nice little bar, onsite bakery. Very friendly, bright and comfortable. Just what we needed for lunch.

One of the best place to grab some food if visiting Acadia National Park and staying in the area. A good option for vegetarians is hummus wrap.

The restaurant had a bad fire a few years back, and when they rebuilt, they did a very nice job. This is a super place to start the day.

After the Bar Harbor July 4th parade, we drove home to Top Hill through Northeast and stopped for lunch at the bakery. The homemade bread is delicious so we all ordered a variety of sandwiches to include having this. Great choice for anyone who loves bread!

We chanced upon the Colonel's during a day trip to Northeast Harbor. We enjoyed the rueben on GF bread and a Captain Jack Burger. Both were delicious, and the fries were crispy and golden brown. No complaints! It was a quick and easy lunch.

The "crab melt" sandwich was delicious; everything else was "meh." The lobster avodo sandwich was big on bread and skimpy on lobster. The Kraft macaroni and cheese was hard and crunchy and the chicken fingers were bland.

The Colonels was highly recommended by an acquaintance and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent and the service was very good. Do not miss the pastries. Will certainly return as a "must do" upon my next trip.

We ended up going for lunch twice at the Colonel's-- once stumbling across it while out driving around the quieter side of MDI, the second a return for a reliable good lunch. My teen son dubbed this the quintessential American style place for a sandwich, chips and a pickle (had chicken one day, burger the other). They also served a... More
