Nice to find the shopping and dining area of Northeast Harbor to escape the traffic in Bar Harbor. This restaurant had good food and good service.

We went here for donuts after seeing a recommendation at a campground. (we were told they open at 7-it's 8am, so we waited outside for an hour and it was worth it.) We didn't even know it was restaurant too. The donuts were freshly made, still warm, and the best I've eaten in my life. We tried the blueberry and... More

Crab Trap lunch -- great soup with lots of haddock and an amazing crab melt sandwich oat bread is the way to go! The server was attentive and knowledgeable. The only negative was the pesky fly buzzing my table.

Nice clean place, with good food, good service. I stop in for dinner at least once whenever I am in Northeast Harbor.

Very good food, casual, family atmosphere, friendly staff. Big portions, food better than expected. In particular fish of the day (excellent cooked salmon or haddock), also very good chicken Parmesan pasta and Colonel's fish soup.

We rented in Northeast Harbor and Colonel's was the highlight of our morning and sometimes evening. Disclaimer: we never ate physically inside the restaurant so I can't comment on service. The girls who took our order inside, however, were very helpful and considerate. Blueberry Donut: 5/5. Absolute perfection. Freshly baked and delicious. Filling too. I recommend and it became a... During our stay in Bar Harbor, we took a short road trip through Southwest Harbor, Bass Harbor and Northeast Harbor. Couldn't get close to Thurston's Lobster Pound, line out the door into the parking lot, so continued on to Northeast Harbor and Colonel's. Pleasantly surprised. Quaint place with on-premise bakery, full bar, good food and pleasant service. I had the... More

Our family ordered onion rings to share and the biggest mound of onion rings arrived. Unfortunately, they were also the worst any of us had ever had. Not only were they undercooked but there was no taste to the batter. The French fries were similarly under cooked. The lobster salad had too much mayo to taste the precious lobster.
