Always an awesome place to grab a local beer & super fresh oysters. Visited for a post lunch snack & did not disappoint! Yummy local oysters & lots of fun beers... Try an Oxbow & then go visit the brewery. Lots of food choices... Live music on weekends ... Although we didn't experience. Nice stop.

The fresh oysters were very good. The fish and chips were great, but would not recommend for someone worried about their salt intake. Have an impressive number of beers on tap. The wait staff are most welcoming and helpful. They also offered to give separate checks. All in all a nice place to eat with friends.

From the moment our waitress seated us we had a great time. The Damariscotta oysters on the half shell were absolutely wonderful. The seafood stew special that evening was large, intensely flavorful, and chock full of salmon chunks, huge oysters, mussels, and scallops. My husband ate a lot of it, as the crab cake he ordered was not quite up... More

Get a seat in the window for viewing the town and traffic. Good food, pleasant atmosphere, sitting in booths or at tables or sit at the bar. Off street parking a plus

I have eaten here three times. Good variety, homemade with something for everyone. Great burgers and stews. Good salad. The interior is bright and cheery. First found out about it from an article in Downeast Magazine. A great stop. Try it out!

Great service! Salad was good but barnyard burger could use some more flavor or bbq sauce. Food was fresh and served quickly.

Newcastle Publick House has the best food in the area hands down. Everything is indeniably delicious (especially the fries). Very highly recommended.

Although finding the door was challenging, the staff was charming. The walls were decorated with murals of coastal Maine. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich. The pork was tasty, although I would have preferred a little more spice and the fries were excellent. I particularly liked the fact that the potato skin was left on. I would go back again

This is a really solid place for a great meal, and a very convivial atmosphere. The restaurant is always busy, but the wait time is never all that long. We've stopped for lunch on our way further north, and the food and service are consistently great. The beer selection is excellent usually offering a number of local craft brews. Sandwiches,... I really want to love this place, the building is beautiful and I enjoy pub fare. However in our 4 trips we had consistently lousy experiences, the fried fish was greasy, the chowder cold, the servers loudly rude to their supervisors, the staff was drinking at 11 am, meals came out at different times, etc.
