We have been at Shaws several times, every time enjoying the lobster, and several times also the onion blossom with the dijon/horseradish dipping. We always sit outside enjoying the view over beautiful New Habor and seeing the lobster boats sailing out and in, unloading at Shaw's.

We ate here twice during our visit and found it both delicious and fun. The menu concentrates on lobster but offers a nice variety of seafood. If the weather is fair, be sure to sit outside and enjoy the sights and sounds of a small harbor. We watched lobsters being sorted and unloaded from boats just below our table. Conversations... We had read in many places what a fine choice Shaw's was to eat sea food and were very much looking forward to the experience. When we arrived though we were put off by prices 60% higher than we'd seen even near Bar Harbor and after considering just an appetizer decided to go elsewhere. The place is like most lobster... If local seafood means you smell the salt air and the pungent kelp-wrapped piers exposed at low tide; and you get to ponder the shiny deep black harbor water as it laps the hulls of working, not luxury, boats while a chorus of gulls clamoring for crumbs makes you feel as if there are no rules--welcome to Shaw's! The benches... More

The food was very fresh and very locale. I had the fried clams, my wife had the lobster. All of which was caught and dropped off at the docks around the restaurant. That being said be ready for the smell of fish. This is not a Michelin star restaurant and there are boats that drop off live lobsters. I would... More

Lines to place your order and you have to wait to pick your food up. No waiter service. The fare is good but not exceptional. Colorful environment and a place to visit when in the neighborhood but lower your expectations.

We had a nice lunch at Shaw's. I had the haddock Reuben. The fish was crispy. But it doesn't really taste like a Reuben. My husband had a crab cake sandwich. It was breezy and beautiful.

Greatest seafood by far! Watch the lobster boats unload while you eat out on the deck or inside. Receive huge amounts of steamers or your choice of fried seafood. Love coming here and leave stuffed to the gills!

From the time we left the car until we reached the inside of the upstairs restaurant there were a variety of odors that eventually turned us away, even as we approached the counter. We left and did not order.
