Excellent food. The kind of place where they know the "regulars", but welcome travelers. A frequent spot for Appalachian trail hikers to relax. Easy to strike up a conversation, if you choose to sit at the outside tables, with someone hiking from Georgia to Maine.

Wonderful little place in a beautiful setting. Great friendly service. Lobster roll and quesadilla were excellent. Nice outside seating right on the lake with great views!

Stopped for a late lunch after touring around the area. Outdoor seating near the lake. Also plenty of indoor seating. Wait staff were at hand when needed. I had the fried haddock and it was plentiful and with fries. Did not leave there hungry. They...do have some lodging for those trekking the Appalachian Trail.More

Thanks so much for leaving a positive review. We appreciate it as do others who check out the page. I'm glad you had a nice experience, and a lot of people like our Friday-start weekend fish fry - I'm happy that you did too. Hope...More

I spent 6 days vacationing in Monson, ME. I lunched here the second day then returned again twice to enjoy myself again. Patrons can eat inside the building, but I ate outside on the patio between the building and the lake. Locals arrive at the...restaurant by boat and tie up at the dock. Staff was pleasant and meals were delicious. Kid friendly, dog friendly. I had the smoked trout appetizer -twice!More

Great atmosphere, staff and new owners!, Have been visiting the Lakeshore House for years and have never had bad service or a bad meal. The new owners are carrying on the tradition and look to only improve on an already great experience.

I've had several dinners here and they were all wonderful. Their handcut fries are the best ever. We've only sat outside by the lake, so can't speak to interior seating.

We had heard so much about this place and were excited to eat there. But we weren't impressed at all. I got a chicken salad and it wasn't great, the chicken was funny tasting. They seem to pride themselves in being slow just for the...sake of being slow. It wasn't crowded at all, and it took 90 minutes for our party of three to get our food - chicken salad, chicken sandwhich, an appetizer, and soup.More

The beer, sandwich, and interaction with the staff and customers was great. I would recommend the restaurant for a meal and/or beer.

Redoing the 100-Mile Wilderness of the Appalachian Trail, I returned 7 years later to the Lakeshore House. It seemed comfortably the same and welcoming to a wet hiker. I got a solo room to be able to spread out my stuff, did laundry, and enjoyed...a drink at the popular bar. What more does a tired hiker need?More
