This place was highly recommended for fine dining. The food was tasty, but not fine. The service was lackadaisical at best, and the owner angry at us for bringing it to her attention. We won’t be back

We had dinner with our son and his wife, the meals were fantastic and the service and staff were first class. It was so good we went back again. I advise booking.

A small, intimate restaurant in a house with friendly (not phony) cooks and servers. I think they are all related. The menu identifies vegan and gluten free items, for the sensitive. Appetizers: fresh hummus with veggies and toasted homemade pitas and roasted bruschetta. Our choices...were- an Italian fish dish with mussels, shrimp, white fish in a light sauce with spaghetti. Homemade Mushroom ravioli with pesto sauce. And Chicken Alfredo We left with smiles and planning a return trip.More

My wife and I BOTH ordered side Caesar salads and we BOTH got sick at the exact same time. The unpleasantness of that negates any positive comments we might have had about our entrees, the staff, or the level of service. Avoid it.

My family and I were coming to visit a family cottage and decided to stop off to eat at Misto. Had some good reviews...we had one of the worst experiences. There were two tables occupied and we waited at the counter for a a seat...for at least 20 minutes. It was unclear as there were tables open. We had finally sat down and got water. We were then ordered a food immediately which was fine. We got 2 apps and 2 dinners. They brought bread to the table that was still frozen on the inside so could not eat it. A wet soggy flat bread pizza was then brought over about 30 min after the order. We then received no service after. We waited almost 2 hours for our food to come out. It was now getting too late we had to get our little girl to bed so they brought food over when we were leaving. We had it boxed and were visibly upset. They said nothing and dropped a whopping 70$ for a small peice of pizza. I thought at least an apology for taking 2 hours of our time and charging us Soo much money...maybe it was an off night but not happy with the experience.More

We visited Misto! (long on the bucket list) during Restaurant Week (Spring 2019). Really great offerings on the RW menu. Duck poutine was fabulous. Angus steak with garlic mashed potatoes was great. My wife had the sweet potato quinoa soup and the crab stuffed sole...over cheese ravioli. Desserts were great as well as the wine and draft beer offerings! And... their normal menu looks great. We'll be back. Service was great as well. It's a small place with one chef so it may take some time, but they say that up front. Worth the wait. Why are you in a hurry to get through good food anyway?More

We had a great dinner last night. Four of us went for a first try during the Portsmouth Restaurant Week. Very nice small cafe, with maybe 12-15 tables. The service was great, and the limited RW menu has several very nice offerings, more than most....The RW menu (flat price, $29.95) is often much smaller servings, but these were plenty big, unless your looking for huge amounts. The Demi Caesar salad, the Angus Sirloin, and the Profiteroles were all excellent. Everyone in our group totally enjoyed the food. The only, minor, problem was the music was too loud. Didn't limit conversation, but I would have liked it a little quieter. Overall a great dinner, We will return.More
