We ate lunch mid-afternoon at Loco Coco's. It was surprisingly busy for that time of day, but we were seated right away. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. My husband had the barbacoa plate, which was delicious. I had a barbecue pork (not barbecue sauce) burrito. Make sure if you want the sour cream, cheese, and avocado sauce, you specify. The menu description said that burritos contain them, but mine didn't. Nonetheless, it was good and the regular size was huge. Chips and salsa are extra, which was the only downside of this place. They have dine-in and a separate area for take-out. The COVID precautions were good. Staff wore masks and we were able to sit safely distanced from other diners.

I love the chicken burrito, it’s my go to, with a side of extra chips. I love that the chicken is all white meat, unlike many other burritos places. I live very close by and it’s dangerous because I could eat this multiple times a week! I love the easy online ordering. Thanks for being a great staple in the Kittery community! 🙂

We had not been here for many years as our first experience was a bit too chaotic and crowded with a place your order and hope to find a seat setup. We heard that they added an option for sit down service and decided to give it a try. It is indeed still very crowded on the weekend and we walked straight by the chaos on the way in and we were told we could choose any seat in the bar area or wait at the podium for a table. We did find a seat and a waitress promptly took our order.
I tried the empanada of the day which had chorizo and found it to be pretty good. These are fried and were just a tad too greasy. Some empanadas are baked, and I like both, but if fried they should not be too oily. We also tried the barbacoa tacos which were good tasting, but not much filling. That said I think they were only about 5 bucks. For dessert, we had the churros, and a big plate came out, more than you could eat. Crispy and hot. Probably the best thing we were served.
Cocktails from the bar were not that great. We tried the house margarita and it was only so so, more mix than tequila. I drank about half.
Certainly not the worst Mexican food we've had, but there is much better in the area. On the positive note, prices were very reasonable here.

It’s been a few years since I’ve eaten here & today’s visit doesn’t make me want to come back. I had a California Burrito & it was cold in the middle. I know they put sour cream & another sauce, but I wish they had grilled it a bit after wrapping it. There’s also a charge for chips & salsa. The waitress was really nice though.

Awful experience tonight with sweet green verde enchiladas 🤮. Paid full price for replacement meal that was lacking any real meat pieces. This place sucks, I feel ripped off by tme. Go elsewhere.

Heard alot of good things about this place had to give it a try.
Bad choice decided on a California burrito.
The tortilla was like none other it tasted and had the texture of paper couldn't eat it so I opened it up to eat the inside couldn't get thru the grizzle so the attempted to eat the rest of it but the soggy uncooked fries which were plentiful beyond comprehension.

Just visited once. It looks like a popular spot split in 3 areas: take-out, bar and full service.
I went for the full service. My waiter was nice, but my first drink choice was missing. The second choice (root beer) wasn't cold and had to be served with ice cubes.
As for food, my tamales was frankly pretty bad. Very disappointing. Dry and tasteless. I almost sent it back after the first two bites.
The tacos were clearly above average, very enjoyable.
I'm not sure what to think overall.

I am currently waiting for their food, as are many. They are starting curbside pickup and the wait has been long, but it's okay because their food is worth it! I know these are uncertain times and uncharted waters for restaurants who are not used to doing takeout at this high volume.
The fact they even opened up again to provide food to the community is truly amazing. Thank you, Locos! Thank you!

The food was amazing and the service was great! We ordered take out and it was ready on time and complete. We ordered a taquitos appetizer, lime vinaigrette salad with tomatoes, cakes, corn and romaine lettuce and chicken enchiladas with spicy tomato sauce. The order was enough for 2 people. We were amazed at how fresh and flavorful the food was. Sometimes Mexican food take out can be bland and look like baby food. Not the case here. I’m glad we found this hidden gem.

What used to be the very best burrito in the are is now a soggy, tasteless, and over-priced hunk of...just blah. A good restaurant has its day in the sun, but after many years and many triumphs, the sun must go down on on every eatery, and that's the case here: good memories but now only disappointment.

...salad, the spinach, chips, pico: all fresh, all tasty, filling and then some. This place made it happen for me. Plan on spending 3 nights in this town, so I might make it back here it was that good.

Well, the food we ordered wasn't the best, but I thoroughly enjoyed a Maine blueberry margarita. The service was a bit choppy, they gave us nachos that we didn't order (but we weren't charged, so all was good) and they were so very different. Covered in homemade guac with jalapenos. They were so delicious. I also liked the casual vibe here. So i'd come back for nachos and cocktails!

We were lucky enough to receive a gift card to the restaurant as a Christmas gift.
We stopped in on the way to Maine for dinner and we weren’t disappointed.
For starters we had the fresh guacamole and chips. It was firstly excellent (avocado was flavorful and the mix ins great too), and secondly huge. A perfect start to the meal!
For the main course I chose the Mole enchiladas and my wife chose the enchiladas verde. My son chose the specialty tacos and chose to pick three different ones. All of it was excellent!
We washed it down with some margaritas and I also tried a couple of their draft beers. All in all it was fantastic!
Good choice on the gift card!

Food was ordered online, and ready when we arrived to pick it up. We tried tacos, a burrito bowl, and a tamale. Everything was yummy, especially the fresh and flavorful pico! Only comment - salt the tortilla chips!

Stopped for lunch and decided to sit in the full service side. Temperature outside was the high 50's. AC in the restaurant was blowing full blast. I mentioned it to the staff but no one cared. Waited a long time for lunch. Finally came but the nachos were not hot. The bartender was also our waitress. She has the personality of a dishrag, Very abrupt and unwelcoming. Worst waitress we have experienced in years. Never came back to the table to check of the food or see if we needed anything. Finally had to ask for the check which she brought. No tank you or nothing. Terrible attitude. Never again. Too many other better choices.
