The fried clams for me are the best! The secret is in the batter: very light which let the food speak for itself! Fried gulf shrimp is also top notch. Two items I cannot pass up when I'm in Maine. Service is fast and efficient, staff attentive. Place is clean, always busy. A bit pricey but you get what you... More

I've eaten here about 4 times over the past 10 years. Each time, whether it is crowded or not, the food is top notch. Fresh seafood, delicately fried, and delicious chowder that is not too thick or starchy. Try the clam chowder and whole belly clam basket or roll. Easy cafeteria seating and quick service make it ideal for families... More

The location is very good. If you want to drive to Maine on summary from south side, you should not miss it. We ordered the classical Maine Lobster, clam chowder, and calamari. The food is very delicious. The only issue is too crowd. You may have to wait for a while to order the food and find a seat.

If you want great, fresh, well cooked seafood you need to eat at Bob's Clam Hut. Clams are so tender and fish is fresh and plentiful. Informal dining - in or out depending on the weather or time of year. Staff is friendly and helpful. Bob's is a "must do" kind of place.

Good clams, but too expensive for something you can get anywhere in the area, and with a nicer atmosphere.

Stopped in for a late lunch with my boyfriend. We split a platter which consisted of clams, haddock, scallops, and fries. I had been seriously craving some good seafood and this hit the spot. I have never been able to eat a seat here in the summer but luckily their seafood is delicious in the winter time too.

Same owner as Robert's across the way. People come from far and wide for the clams. Great service. Very nice people.

This is a good quick stop for a fast easy meal. It's right next to Kittery Trading Post. The seafood is good, tasty but not the greatest. It's good for a quick pit stop with the family. They have good staff that work there that are very friendly.

If I'm in Kittery to sit and eat inside a seafood restaurant, I go to Roberts. If I'm looking for a more casual, outdoor or takeout dining experience? I ALWAYS go to Bob's! This is the PERFECT stop for outlet shopping or beach trips. The food is always excellent, and they serve one of my favorite lobster rolls (as well... More

Description
Established in 1956 on busy Route One long before that stretch became bustling and busy with Kittery's outlet shops, Bob’s was the locals' golden fried standard. Now Bob's is a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike. We hear it from our guests: no trip to Maine is complete without a meal at Bob's Clam Hut.Bob's is committed to serving traditional Maine fried seafood with straightforward simplicity. Our clams are always fresh, which means daily deliveries--we're too small to store more than that anyway. We use "specials," which are clams hand-selected for consistent size and quality. We follow the original Bob's recipes, including the famous tartar sauce. Customer favorites include Bob's New England Clam Chowder, Lobster Stew, the traditional Bob's fried clams, and the Lillian fried clams. The volume of fryolator oil we go through amazes our suppliers--our oil cleanliness standards are second to none. Our staff uses the same cook-to-order system that Bob and his family developed way back when the Clam Hut first opened.Open for lunch and dinner year round from 11:00.
