Best. Clams. Ever. ...big, sweet and fried to crispy perfection!! Drove up from central MA today to get our Bob's fix - clam strips basket, cup of chowdah, and a side of onion rings. Try the spicy tartar with your onion rings. Yum!

I have been by Bob's more times and I could possibly count on my way farther up north or on my way home after those trips I stopped at the Trading Post almost every time but I've never actually gone to Bob's. I'm back in New England on business so I decided to drive from Boston to Maine or some... More

This would be the first of four different lobster rolls and in retrospect this was the best in terms of quality and quantity, although not necessarily in terms of price, but if you are from California, than you can't get enough! Long lines but they moved rather quickly, and it was nice to sit outside (in the back) and stuff... More

It was an unusually warm October weekend so Bob's was hopping and the dining room was completely full and they were taking name.So we opted to sit outside, since it was still warm enough. Bob's does a great job handling crowds so our order came out in a reasonable amount of time. The only problem was the order taker got... More

The food is great - the price is very reasonable - and you don't have to dress up! (If you want to be waited on you can go across the street to Roberts where you can be served the same food for more $$$$!) Love eating here at least once on our annual visit to New England. The clams can't... More

I've been twice and had two kinds of lobster and fried fish. Definitely get spicy tartar. Don't let the unusual seating arrangement unnerve you! Yum!

We love coming here. Have never been disappointed by anything we've ever ordered. Have never had better fried clams and shrimp anywhere else. They are great at what they do.

Was looking forward to trying the clam basket but apparently the hostess didn't catch that part of our order so I was left with the cup of clam chowder which I found to have good flavor but weak and an over abundance of potatoes (having some of the BEST in the PNW @ Ivar's). Hubby enjoyed his lobster roll but... More

We eat here about once a year when passing by. Fried clams are a decadent treat. Worth every penny. No glamor, just simple great comfort food. Worth a detour off the main road.

We eat at Bob's at least once during every trip to Maine. Most times more than once. The servings are generous, fresh and perfectly prepared. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity served. Tried the ice cream this trip, another home run for Bob's.

Thank MillieZelda

Established in 1956 on busy Route One long before that stretch became bustling and busy with Kittery's outlet shops, Bob’s was the locals' golden fried standard. Now Bob's is a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike. We hear it from our guests: no trip to Maine is complete without a meal at Bob's Clam Hut.Bob's is committed to serving traditional Maine fried seafood with straightforward simplicity. Our clams are always fresh, which means daily deliveries--we're too small to store more than that anyway. We use "specials," which are clams hand-selected for consistent size and quality. We follow the original Bob's recipes, including the famous tartar sauce. Customer favorites include Bob's New England Clam Chowder, Lobster Stew, the traditional Bob's fried clams, and the Lillian fried clams. The volume of fryolator oil we go through amazes our suppliers--our oil cleanliness standards are second to none. Our staff uses the same cook-to-order system that Bob and his family developed way back when the Clam Hut first opened.Open for lunch and dinner year round from 11:00.
