After years of hearing how good Bobs is, we decided to stop by on our way further North into Maine. Bobs is easy to find just off the Turnpike onto Rt 1. I was not prepared for the scale of this operation - beginning with parking lot guides showing you where to park your car. I began to expect a... More

Best menu for all kinds of fried food, fast service all in a takeout basis. Plenty of tables both inside and out. Very light coating on the fried food. Always packed but can always find a spot to park.

We stopped in for a quick bite... Fed me, my wife, baby and 11 year old easily and inexpensively. In and out fast even though there was a line up. Great experience eating outdoors ! Would eat again for sure.

This is an easy-on, easy-off from Route 1 in Kittery Maine, and well worth doing. I haven't been here for 30 years, and the place is still very robustly popular. It has expanded over the years, and is still the place to go. I don't recall the Bib vs. Lillian thing for the fried clam batter, but I ordered them... More

Stopped here for lunch after a few hours at the beach. Classic roadside seafood hut a hop skip and jump from the Kittery Trading Post. I had the clams two ways 'Bobs way' and 'Lillians way'. Both were fresh and delicious but Lillians breading was the best!

Not your everyday seafood shack. Great food and service. The way people were lined up at only 11:00 a.m. on a Saturday speaks volumes about this place. You can't go wrong with any item. All freshly and efficiently prepared. Great slaw too!

This was a takeout order for re-heated dinner later that night after an eight hour trip home. The whole clams were just great...even reheated. They were quite generous with the tartar and cocktail sauce packets, as well. Tuna on a salad for lunch was good and my Lobster Roll was very good, but not excellent. Less flavorful and less plentiful... More

Best whole belly clams anywhere. We make sure to stop by every time we travel through Maine. Well worth it to stop by for the clams. ....

I had Lillian while my spouse had Bob's. We couldn't find much difference; both were good. The coleslaw and fries were tasty as well. The only improvement from our perspective would have been whole clams with a little larger bellies. Portions were more than adequate. They have spicy as well as regular tartar sauce, I tried spicy but like traditional... More

Established in 1956 on busy Route One long before that stretch became bustling and busy with Kittery's outlet shops, Bob’s was the locals' golden fried standard. Now Bob's is a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike. We hear it from our guests: no trip to Maine is complete without a meal at Bob's Clam Hut.Bob's is committed to serving traditional Maine fried seafood with straightforward simplicity. Our clams are always fresh, which means daily deliveries--we're too small to store more than that anyway. We use "specials," which are clams hand-selected for consistent size and quality. We follow the original Bob's recipes, including the famous tartar sauce. Customer favorites include Bob's New England Clam Chowder, Lobster Stew, the traditional Bob's fried clams, and the Lillian fried clams. The volume of fryolator oil we go through amazes our suppliers--our oil cleanliness standards are second to none. Our staff uses the same cook-to-order system that Bob and his family developed way back when the Clam Hut first opened.Open for lunch and dinner year round from 11:00.
