How could we come to Portsmouth/Kittery and not get fried clams. We ordered a lobster roll and fried clam dinner. Both were huge and delicious. The buttered roll with the lobster was amazing. While the prices seem high, it is a treat we just can't pass up.

Very casual. The food was excellent. They had the very best clam chowder I have had in a long time. Lots of clams and potatoes and it was in a thin milk cream soup. Reminds me of the clam chowder my grandmother used to make. Wonderful clams too

Fried seafood was tasty but I've had better. Clam chowder was not thick. Over $110 for 4 people to eat...Yikes. Ice cream was awesome! Coconut chocolate..yum!

Great food. Great Prices. Off da hook lobster roll. Haddock was light and crunchy. Fries had great crunch too. Busy, but worth it.

My husband is a Maine native, and loves fried clams. When we decided to stay over in Kittery on our way to visit my in laws, I looked up great places to eat in Kittery, and we decided Bobs's Clam Hug was the perfect choice. My husband had clam strips and a lobster roll, our son had the fish chowder,... More

This was my second trip to Bob's Clam Hut. The lobster roll is delicious. I had that the first time when I visited in October 2015. This time I got a sundae and it was delicious. The service was very quick and friendly. I will definitely be going back on my next trip to Kittery.

I have fabulous childhood memories of eating here so it was a MUST STOP to bring my sweetheart here to eat OF COURSE! It tasted exactly as I remember it. The scallops are TDF! Sooooo good!!! The prices are insane compared to when I was a kid, but obviously they know their appeal and what to do with it. The... More

Anytime in the area we stop at Bob's for great seafood. We love their clam chowder and fried clams (with bellies)This trip we also tried the haddock sandwich. It melted in my mouth. There is never a fried after taste with anything we have tried here. they know how to prepare the meals.

Came here on a cool windy fall day on the recommendation of some locals. The atmosphere is fun and casual, a nice stop to make while shopping and seeing the sights. I was disappointed by the puny cup my fish chowder came in, as well as the blandness of it. No creaminess, very small flavor. The fried clams were good,... More

Description
Established in 1956 on busy Route One long before that stretch became bustling and busy with Kittery's outlet shops, Bob’s was the locals' golden fried standard. Now Bob's is a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike. We hear it from our guests: no trip to Maine is complete without a meal at Bob's Clam Hut.Bob's is committed to serving traditional Maine fried seafood with straightforward simplicity. Our clams are always fresh, which means daily deliveries--we're too small to store more than that anyway. We use "specials," which are clams hand-selected for consistent size and quality. We follow the original Bob's recipes, including the famous tartar sauce. Customer favorites include Bob's New England Clam Chowder, Lobster Stew, the traditional Bob's fried clams, and the Lillian fried clams. The volume of fryolator oil we go through amazes our suppliers--our oil cleanliness standards are second to none. Our staff uses the same cook-to-order system that Bob and his family developed way back when the Clam Hut first opened.Open for lunch and dinner year round from 11:00.
