We really wanted to love the entire experience but, alas, we loved only the setting and the first round of cocktails. Overall service and flavor were unremarkable. Seated on the deck with a nice water view, we were eager to have a most wonderful dining experience. The hot and spicy martini (Tito's vodka, candied jalapeno, blue-cheese stuffed olives) was very delicious! Requesting a side of ice when we ordered the cocktails, the ice didn't arrive until after a second request was made. We ordered a second round which, due to the long wait for it, prompted a double-check on the whereabouts. The drinks eventually arrived; the side of ice never did. Lukewarm martinis are not worth the prices paid. The appetizer of fried avocados sounded like a good idea; however, it was completely flavorless. Grateful, though, that it came with a mustard remoulade (If there were to be a "next time", perhaps we'd order just the mustard). The entrees of salmon and baked haddock both presented nicely; sadly again, flavors were dull, lackluster, boring, disappointing... Did I mention that the view was lovely?

Perfect place for happy hour. The wine discounts were better than the ones on beer. Would recommend making a reservation if you want to sit in the Adirondack chairs facing the water. We didn’t have a reservation but the table on the patio was still very nice and protected us from the afternoon rain storm. Didn’t try the food but the tacos being cooked outside specifically for happy hour looked delicious.

Beautiful setting combined with excellent service and good food. This was a family dinner and having a lawn area alongside the waterfront helped keep the little one entertained between courses. The chips and hummus were shared by everyone and the Caesar salad, while not the largest, was well made with just the right amount of dressing. Portion sizes of the entrees were generous. My wife enjoyed the Salmon in Tiki Masala sauce and said she hadn’t had it prepared like that before. The fish & chips was also the best I’ve had while vacationing in Maine. Two (very) small drawbacks: they don’t provide any bread for the table and the dessert choices are very limited. Prices are consistent with other high end sea food restaurants but the ambience, quality and service make it a fair value.

Pros- great views, really good drinks (Kandi the bartender was amazing) and the manager (Jamie) went above and beyond to rectify in response to our complaint about our server.
Cons- Food was only okay. Service was terrible. Oysters were really good, soup special of the day (corn chowder) was below average, progresso canned would've been just as good. Lemon Haddock was slightly overcooked and the barley risotto was chewy. Chris, our server, was generally inattentive. I had to inquire about the specials, they were proffered. It took a lomg time to get our first glass of water, and they were not refilled, even after the glasses were empty for 15+ min and requests for refills were made. He did not check in about how we were doing. Our plates were not cleared for approx 20min until we made a complaint and the manager cleared our table. I understand staffing limitations during this time, but the restaurant was not busy (maybe 12 tables of 2 people total throughout the whole restaurant). Although the manager and bartender were great, the food was average at best, and the waiter was terrible. I wouldn't go back for a meal, but would gladly go back for a drink at the bar with Kandi, or for a drink in the Adirondack chairs outside overlooking the beautiful view.

If I wrote this review a year ago, I would have offered 5 stars. However, much has changed. We dined last evening. The food was very sub-par, including a flavorless, very dry Halibut and pasta that was very overcooked. It seemed that the food was rushed. Even though we asked for our entrees to come out after we finished our salads, they came out mid-salad. The environment and view are outstanding, and we have always loved dining there. However. while they accepted our 7:30 pm reservation, because it was not busy, the service was very brusk. I do not blame the water per so. I blame the restaurant because if you want to close earlier, you should not accept reservations beyond a certain hour (mind you, we did not take the latest reservation option as Open Table even showed later possibilities for reservations). People travel to dine here and spend a lot of money. You can do better.

My wife and I visited last October for a Saturday afternoon happy hour and went again this year on a weekend to Kennebunkport. We were seated outside on a gorgeous afternoon. The location and views are spectacular. We enjoyed a Rum Punch and a white sangria. We were a little disappointed that a limited appetizer menu was more limited with several of the choices (both of which we wanted) were not available and there were no other offerings in their place. We shared the fried cauliflower and the French fries poutine which we enjoyed.

Great dining experience in Kennebunkport. Food quality is excellent. The staff is very courteous professional. The water views are stunning, especially at sunset. The menu prices are not cheap but comparable to other high end dinner places in Kennebunkport.

We enjoyed a relaxing evening sitting on the lawn overlooking the river. Our waitperson, Stacey, was friendly, efficient and took good care of us.
We started our meals with haddock chowder and gazpacho topped with shrimp. Both were delicious. For our main meals we each had pork snitzel served with red cabbage, German potato salad and apple compote. Oh my that a tasty meal; we took more than half home for dinner tonight.
Odd choice of a meal, I know, but we were looking for a change from fish, although the salmon sounded good.
Make a reservation and enjoy this gem of a restaurant.

Excellent food, waitstaff and view. Because of COVID, they had limited capacity, so we actually had take out one night that we ate on the porch below the stars. It's not often that take out is as delicious as eat in - but Stripers hits the nail on the head with both.

We went for Valentine’s Day as we had gone a few years back and there was a special Valentines dinner menu and had loved it especially with the beautiful view.
There were 2 people working and there ended up like 7 tables and the table that sat down 30 min before us got their dinner and we hadn’t been served. The couple beside us left saying that the chef was overwhelmed and got the order wrong.
We were asked what our original order was after 35 minutes of ordering saying they forgot. We then opted to leave.
Will not return there. Wish they could have accommodated for reservations they could handle on low staff as we had happily reserved 30 days ago.

Waiter was good, food was very good. Everything was done well, the chowder was large and bountiful, full of large chuncks of potatoe and clams. Good view of the water and boats coming in and out. Overall a reall good time.

Totally disappointed in this experience. Booked lobster bake at strippers a month in advance for a special occasion. Reconfirmed the day before and they didn’t have the reservation so they didn’t have the reservation . They took my credit card number and we rebooked it.
Friends decided to join us so they reserved the same day as we were planning on going. We all arrived to be told it was cancelled! They did not call any of our three parties. There attitude was totally indifferent. What is going on there. Would not recommend to anyone who does not want to experience this same fiasco. They are totally disorganized.it’S too bad because it was such a nice experience in the past . Shame on them.

Had dinner Sunday night 7/23/23. We waited 1 1/2 hours for our meals when it was not crowded. Server was slow, taking way too long for drinks. Then he got my order wrong. Fried fish was extremely greasy. Rest of menu questionable. The gumbo had no fish as touted, mostly sausage. I wouldnt waste my money on this place, honestl. Too many legit seafood places in Kennebunkport and the general area.

While I wouldn’t say it wasn’t a “poor”experience, I would say that a 3/5 rating of “average” is generous. It was was very MEH! Portions were small, pickle plate were veggies that must have lived in vinegar for years, and lobster gumbo has very little lobster. On the positive side, catch of the day was a highlight. We ended up going across the street to get more food after our meal. Disappointing.

A wonderful stop along the walk to the Walker's Point lookout. "Date Night" special and "Sunset Special" are super good deals, with the service and food both being very good. We were there is February so there was no wait. If you're going in season, I bet this place gets packed!
