Stopped in for dinner after walking by and smelling the amazing aroma that can only come from fantastic food! Hubby and I shared a whole belly clam basket with onion rings and a lobster roll served with delicious fries and slaw. Let me say that they did not disappoint! I can honestly say this is the first time in my life that I've been served fried clams that were too hot to pick up, they were sweet, lightly breaded and cooked to perfection. The lobster roll, served on a buttered/grilled hot dog bun was plentiful and delicious with hardly any mayo. The french fries were also excellent. We were pleasantly surprised and the food was beyond our expectation!

The food at the Pilot restaurant was so really good and fresh. We had the salmon with green beans and sweet potato fries, pickled fried chicken thigh on a toasted brioche bun and steak with crispy onion rings and green beans. This was the one restaurant that was still serving food after 9 pm during COVID shortened hours most restaurants were on.

Kennebunkport is a really fun town in Maine. It’s located right on the water with classy boats docked or passing by. The Pilot House offers outdoor seating and has delicious lobster rolls and clam chowder, raw oysters, and fried clams. I highly recommend this restaurant and spending a day in Kennebunkport. The shops in the area are very cute and have high-quality sweatshirts, sweatpants, t-shirts, shorts, etc.

We were there for lunch on a weekday post Labor Day... we started to worry when we heard the table next to us complaining that they had been waiting 45 minutes for their food, we ended up waiting nearly an hour. It was even more stressful because we were waiting for a boat charter to start, which we had informed our server of when we sat down. Our server was lovely and it certainly didn’t seem to be the fault of the wait staff, but there was definitely some sort of problem with the kitchen....If the food was amazing it might be worth the wait but it is very typical pub fare.

Met family for lunch at Pilot House. Place was pretty empty when we arrived at about noon, but by 1pm it was hopping on a Saturday. Good variety with the menu. Old school type place. I loved my whole belly clams and the clam chowder was also very good although much thicker than I am used to. Prices pretty reasonable as well. Service was very friendly as well.

Our family of 5 was seated after a 20-25 minute wait. They had told us it could be 45 minutes. We were seated at a nice table outside. The server took our orders and appeared to be responsible for most of the outside tables. Our food came quickly and the server circled back to ensure everything was in order. The Haddock was so fresh and the batter was crispy but not overwhelming. The kids meals were substantial, a decent sized hamburger, a good sized piece of fish and enough chicken tenders to satisfy the 12 year old. Prices were super reasonable.

We were driving through town on the cusp of a holiday weekend, and it was mayhem. No restaurant could seat us for lunch without at least an hour wait, and it was a rainy day not conducive to walking the shops while waiting. We spotted the Pilot House and they were able to seat us right away, although they too were crowded. Haddock sandwiches were very good, and the fries were excellent (I try not to eat them but these were worth it). Servers were busy but we were still taken care of in a timely fashion. Glad to have found this place, worth looking past the main drag. Can't speak as to parking, we found a spot on the main street and walked over.

Fried haddock Reuben may have been the best sandwich I have ever eaten. Service was good and sitting on the outside deck overlooking the marina was pleasant. Prices were very reasonable for the location right in town. Next time we come to town we are coming back and I will get that Reuben again to make sure I was not imagining how amazing it was. Dog friendly outdoor seating.

Too many "fancy" places on the main road. Walk behind to the docks to this GEM of a place! The service was quick and great while the food was stupendous! The atmosphere is eclectic family style with various chairs and tables. A bit crowded but comfortable. Fish and chips were really good with spiced fries and massive piece of fish. The coleslaw was good but not quite to my taste with a good amount of black pepper. The Fish Reuben was just WOW!!! I would have never guessed this combo works so well.

Food was ok. We got clam chowder and haddock dinner to share. Nothing special but ok. Service... it just wasn't there. Maybe not enough waiters, but after we've ordered, different people would show to drop stuff on our table. Had to hunt a waiter to get water. Another one to get bill. Then submit credit card. Then waiter stopped to chat with group of guests on the way to give us cc slip to sign. For a while...

Know what you want and place your order stating such. The waitress was quick, friendly and efficient. Despite sensing this was a place for locals; the banter and aura was what we like in an eatery when visiting. The food was good and the prices were fair. Easy walk to downtown Kennebunkport . We prefer to sit at the bar but where you sit is not as important as what you eat and the quality thereof. Would we return. Of course.

We have been vacationing in the Kennebunks for twenty years but had never eaten at the Pilot House restaurant until this year. We shared an order of coconut shrimp appetizer. Then I had steamed clams and my wife had a salad. Service was excellent and we had a nice view of the Kennebunk River. We would definitely go back again and recommend it for lunch.

This restaurant is in the middle of the downtown Kennebunkport area right on the waterfront. It has a large bar inside with some tables surrounding in and on the side. There is also a nice size outdoor seating area. The food was hot and cold sandwiches and seafood platters. We had a lobster roll, which I thought was small for the price and came with cole slaw. Hubby had a grilled haddock sandwich with cole slaw. He declared his really good. The place was packed and servers were working as hard as they could, but service was slow. Still, I would return and try something else.

Our car broke down and we ended up stranded in Kennebunk. Making the most of it, we decided to try this spot for dinner. Really glad we did! Service was great, the food even better. We each got a sandwich, all were devoured! (Salmon BLT, Haddock Sandwich and Haddock Reuben) Washed it down with a Geary's, local beer. Loved the wooden planked floors and nautical decor. Definitely turned our miserable day around, so glad we stopped in.

We stopped by this restaurant quickly, famished from a long plane ride. It didn't seem to be anything special but then the food came. They serve the best whole belly fried clams in the entire state of Maine!
