Finally was able to get a reservation at one of the fish shacks at Batson. The cozy shack is a fun place to hang out for 90 mins. 90 mins. is the time allotted for each party. The Poutine was delicious and the brussel sprouts...were excellent. The charcuterie platter was beautifully presented. Matt, our server, was very efficient and friendly. I would definitely recommend Batson inside, or the fish shacks, if you can get a reservation.More

My wife and I visited the Portland Batson digs twice. At first you are struck by the looks of the place, which is incredible. So spatious, well-decorated. The two owners certainly spent a ton of money on the design -- and they hit the aesthetic...right. Fun looking place. But, if the truth be told, the drinks are rather expensive, the service is modest (really slow) and the food was, well, lame. Okay, this is not a restaurant, per se, but $18 for a really modest burger and a tiny batch of fries? Six wings for $14? The menu is weak. I love the story of the place (the two owners), and we hope it lasts. But after a few visits the luster will wane. Good food, robust portions, and modest prices will fill the place six months from now. They are not there, yet. I hope they read this and take it to heart. We liked the place -- fun. But the food and service need attention.More

Really disappointed. Pizza has gone downhill. Rude service even during COVID. Bought a 4 pack that was brewed on May 5.

We stopped here for lunch because the 3-tier restaurant had a great atmosphere. I’m a pretty picky eater (I rarely eat seafood) so I had an amazing wood fired cheese pizza and Cajun fries, and my boyfriend got the lobster roll. At first we were...hesitant about a $26 lobster roll, but WOW it was amazing and worth every damn penny!!!! I ended up having a bite (or two), and I think it’s safe to say I love lobster now!! The cocktails and top notch service can’t be beat either. Hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to.More

We camp with friends and dogs - in this visit to Batson River Brewing, we were 4 adults, 3 dogs (not little ones - a lab and two goldens) and as pet owners that like to tourist with our pups, we were delighted to be...welcomed to their establishment. Our timing couldn't be more perfect - there was a picnic table/deck open that we got and it was awesome! The staff were incredible and loved the dogs and when we got the menu for the drinks/food, we had a feast of amazingly creative and awesome munchies! Poutine, chicken wings, cornbread and pretzel platter - OMG, it was wonderful! Highly recommend visiting, we'll be back!More

I wish someone had been available to explain why no one came to take our order, or even offer us drinks, but no one came around. We were waiting for 15 minutes. They sat us at a bar, outside. It was very uncomfortable. The bar,...where I guess we were supposed to eat from, was barely above our wastes. I have no idea how we were supposed to eat off of that. And then, for some reason, a waitress came and poured water from a pitcher onto the fire. She didn't put it out... just made it smoke a lot more. It was a nice day to be near a fire until she decided to make it utterly pointless. That was the last straw. Time to leave. On the way out, the hostess who had just sat us at the kids bar 15 minutes before said to us, "Thanks for coming." I would've said something, but incompetence like that you just can't fix. This place is an example of inmates running the asylum. Maybe they have good food. Maybe they don't. But however great the kitchen is, it's not worth putting up with the front of the house to find out. They don't have a clue.More

We were strongly advised to try this place, and its a good thing we were. We generally stay out of Kennebunkport village a lot of it is too touristy. Batson River is set back from the street, you might not even notice going by We...came on a Wednesday night, the town wasnt as full as usual because of covid, and we were able to get a good seat upstairs on the outside deck with a great view of everything. I got the pepperoni pizza, and it was about as good as pizza gets, washed down with a pint of their A Dog Named Simcoe, just about the best combination possible. The menu noted that the pilsner is available in cans, but not the Simcoe---darn you guys!--- I would have taken home a caseful ! My daughter got the hamburger, be warned, its on the appetizer list, but its truly a meal in itself She isnt a huge carnivore, but she said it was absolutely the best burger she had ever eaten, I took a bit and cant argue with that, it came with warm chips and was just delicious The service was fast and very friendly, they were taking the covid precautions very seriously, so it was a comfortable place to sit and relax We ended up chatting with a couple who live in town who just moved here a short time ago and they said this place was their absolute favorite for food and drinks, and I understand why. We came back for a second visit the next week and it was every bit as good. its now one of our top favorites in Maine TheMore

Stopped in to try the beverages. Truly enjoyed the space; decor was fun, great upper deck, fire pit and social distance rules followed! As a distillery, they have plenty of sanitizer. Will be back for more beer and to try the food!

We had never been here before but have been meaning to try. We are soooo glad we did. There were 8 of us and we got there shortly after they opened on Saturday. We went upstairs to where they have a great gathering spot with...games, darts and table shuffle board. We were greeted by Matt and Mike right away. We all congregated to the corner where the darts and shuffle board was. Mike could not have been any more pleasant . He kept on top of us to be sure noone was thirsty or hungry. We tried several beers, cocktails and of course had snacks. Which by the way were all fantastic!! We cant wait to go back during the warmer months as i am sure it would be fun to sit outside on one of their decks. Thanks Mike for the great service and suggestions. We will definately be back!!!!More

Have been a couple of times for beers and apps and really like this place. Good service, friendly atmosphere. Beer is not at the level of some of the established craft breweries in Maine yet but it is a fairly new place and it's pretty...good. Love the pork belly in steamed buns, perfectly cooked. Meatballs in marinara were also great. Poutine only had about a teaspoon of gravy so was the one thing that missed the mark. I'd be concerned about parking in the summer but I will definitely patronize this place.More
