After waiting for 55 minutes for a meal at the highly-touted Grammys (only to determine that our order hadn't even been started yet ....and this with 40% of their tables empty) we drove back toward town and discovered the Elm Tree Diner. Excellent service and very good food. We even recognized two other couples there who had also become frustrated... More

I'm sure locals come here for comfort food, but . . . the time for serving a meal consisting of protein and potato and canned (or overcooked) vegetables has passed. (The fish was overcooked, too.) They have a large selection of baked goods, but neither the whoopie pie nor the date-filled molasses cookie were worth writing home about.

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise while out touring Maine. The service was prompt and friendly. The menu was very extensive. We had the fried pickles tasty, homemade onion rings, homemade rolls and bread on the sandwiches and fresh cut fries. We had the turkey club on wheat, blt, and burger. All were good and very fresh. A good stop!

The manager at our hotel recommend this restaurant and we are glad that we went. Our server, Haven, was very attentive even though she was busy. The salad was fresh. The rolls were home made and warm and the rest of the meal was just a should. There was a good variety of things to choose from on the menu.... More

This is a small diner popular with the locals, the lobster quice is very good as well as the blueberry cobbler.

We went there for dinner because of its rating and other contributors. We asked of they had decafe tea and were told they did not even though the menu stated that they served it. The food was average as deep fried food usually is. The servings are ample although there was too many fries. If you are a person who... More

I was traveling through this part of Maine, and wanted to check out a local place. Someone recommended Elm Tree Diner, and from the moment I walked in, I felt optimistic about the lunch to come. The setting is basic, like a diner should be. The food is excellent, especially the lobster roll and sweet potato fries I had! Also... More

Back to good food. I would not have said this 2 years ago. Good home cooked food. Back to the days of older owners. Good servings.
