The food was great... nothing like a home cooked meal. I had the grilled ham and swiss sandwich and my husband had the roasted turkey and stuffing sandwich. Both were delicious. For dessert we split a sticky bun. So good!

Having pounded the bricks for a while, we were ready for a cup of coffee and here they have excellent coffee. The delicious case full of freshly baked goods I resisted, but it was difficult. The lunch offerings of soups and sandwiches were refreshingly eclectic. Isabela (I assumed it was she) offered gracious service with a slight touch of eccentric... More

We were somewhat disappointed. Our "sticky bun" was kinda stale and not very enjoyable. I really wish I had taken it back and asked for a fresher bun but alas, I did not. I think these are probably good fresh out of the oven but not so good after they have sat for an hour or so. We may try... More

Decided to try this place close to the Hilton Garden Inn for breakfast before walking up to LL Bean and we were not disappointed! Small, local place - had an excellent omelet, as well as the sticky bun they are famous for. You won't be disappointed if you stop in here!

Had breakfast one morning. Food was fresh and service was friendly and fast. Willingness to deviate from the posted menu to accommodate our needs.

We had the breakfast biscuits - one of the best homemade biscuits I've ever eaten! It was not too crowded and made for such a great experience. You could see breakfast being prepared on the griddle right before you eyes! This is a breakfast MUST if in Freeport!

Delicious egg sandwich for my wife; I had a blueberry-lemon scone. Lovely little place on a side street, worth finding for a nice breakfast or food later in the day

Description
We strive to create a warm and friendly cafe that reminds you of home cooking. We prepare all of our food from scratch using fresh ingredients and family recipes. Next time you're in Freeport, stop on by for breakfast, lunch, and of course one of our famous sticky buns! A long time feature of Freeport, Maine, Isabella's Cafe has recently come under new ownership by Caite Maynard. Caite has worked in the food industry for over 40 years; she is renowned for her baking, soup, and her attention to customer service. Isabella's Cafe now focuses on fresh food made by hand, using locally-sourced ingredients and family recipes; breakfast and lunch are available all day, and Caite's passion for baking results in a bakery case filled with delicious items from cookies, muffins, and scones, and the homemade sticky bun bread pudding is not to be missed!
