What can I say about the Purple Cow?
My wife and I have eaten at this restaurant for almost 20 years for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and have seen faces come and go. There are some that have been here at least as long as...we have been eating here. (Brenda, Violet, just to name a couple).
My wife and I had another great breakfast this morning. A Sunday morning treat for us. (long overdue). We arrived about 5:30am, only to find it not opening until 6am on Sundays(our fault as we did not know Sunday's hours start 1 hour later than the rest of the days). We decided to just sit there and watch the sun come up, and go over what we were going to order anticipating enjoying another meal here at the Purple Cow. We had studied the menu online, so we knew what we wanted to order before we went inside. I knew a wanted their home fries (real, not frozen) a couple of eggs over easy, crispy bacon and a grilled english muffin. My wife wanted eggs over easy, home fries, sausage and multigrain toast.
At 6am we jumped out of car(well maybe not "jumped" and headed inside and picked out a table. Brenda was quick to bring us a menu and , we told her our order without even looking at all the other menu items. As we were waiting for our coffees, the restaurant began to fill in with a lot of their regular customers(we recognized from previous trips). Brenda was back in no time with our hot coffees. If you haven't had the pleasure of eating at the Purple Cow yet, when you get inside there are lots of posters on the walls with interesting little slogans on them, which keeps you busy while your waiting for your food to arrive. While we were waiting, another waitress came by to ask us if we wanted to top off our coffees. In just a few minutes, Brenda brought us our plates of food and asked if wanted anything else, we said no we just wanted to "dig into" anticipated food. During our meal the restaurant continued to begin filling in with other hungry customers, and Brenda came back by to see if everything was alright and see if we needed anything else. We told her the eggs on my wife's plate was not quite done. She apologized said that she would order a couple more eggs, and was back with them in a jiffy.
Our food was perfect, service was great as usual. We love this place, and even tho we don't eat here every week like we have prior to this "virus" thing that has changed how we live. I would recommend trying the Purple Cow, you will find an extensive menu with lots of items to satisfy almost anyone's hunger. Enjoy good food, and good sized portions(don't be surprised if you need a to go container) at fair prices, and great service! Bring your appetite!
Thank you for many years of great food & service. We look forward to our next visit.
