This place was packed. We came on a Sunday morning. There was a line at the door. There wasn't a single open table. My only observation was there isn't a sign or anyone telling you there is a sign up sheet. We finally figured we should ask someone because there was 20 people standing around the entrance and no one... More

Good food, but staff does not care about their customers. Went through the drive thru this morning to get a few breakfast sandwiches for my wife and myself. Placed order, then waited 15 minutes at the window without anyone coming to check us out or anything. Finally decided to go in after 20 minutes to see what was going on... More

We were driving home from a weekend in Maine; we had gotten a late start due to a snowstorm, and were hangry. We knew we probably wouldn't make it to Portland and want to pay those prices and waste time looking for something. What to our wondering eyes should appear but a sign on Rte 295 advertising the Purple Cow... More

I came here one morning after an extensive night of drinking. The menu here is HUGE so you'll definitely find something you can eat, the food is diner style and greasy and good. It isn't outstanding but it is cheap and will set your hangover straight.

We had been here many, many years ago and were by the amount of growth they have experience over the years. The original diner has been added onto many times, now featuring a drive through as well as a bar. We stopped on our way home from Bar Harbor and had breakfast. I love corned beef hash and noticed the... More

Great breakfasts. The pancakes are ginormous! Eggs Benedict was a hit. I had the corned beef hash which was excellent. So much food for the price and it's great quality diner favorites. Definitely will be back.

Wow - this was an out an of the way lunch stop during our Maine roadtrip, but it was awesome! When these folks advertise pancakes - they mean pancakes the size of the frying pan. No little stack of flaps like at IHOP here - uh uh no! These were platter sized and the portions were so large they even... More

Big breakfast food! It was so good! Corn muffin is a must to try. You'd want to go to the retro section of Betty Boop collection.

I have been eating here for decades and with few exceptions, have found this to be the best value around. Food is good, staff is friendly and outgoing and prices are the best around. Purple Cow has the largest portions in the area. Have had breakfast there twice this week. Home fries are sometimes under cooked but on average are... More
