I've liked this place for many years and go there almost weekly for breakfast. It's a friendly diner not a high end place but consistently good food, not greasy, and the price is right and serving size is awesome. Ells. has some great breakfast spots and this is one of them.

they have many choices for your desired breakfast from full 10 different breakfast to choose to make your own combination. We had two of their combinations coffee, eggs your choice, 4 slices of bread and one side has also bacon on the plate. Nice service good experience.

My wife and friends recently had breakfast at Sylvia's Cafe and LOVED the food. Two of us had the lobster omelette which was terrific and the blueberry pancakes were tops, too. Well worth the visit.

Sylvia's is open for breakfast and lunch. We stopped for breakfast on our way from Bar Harbor to Southern Maine. It's in a strip mall of sorts. Our dining companions looked to be mostly locals. Breakfast was fine. I had the eats and with grilled kielbasa. The kielbasa was mass market grade and the accompanying home fries were frozen. Everything... More

Thanks for the review. I just wanted to clarify a couple points. Our kielbasa is actually authentic smoked Polish kielbasa and is not available in any supermarkets. Our homefries are all hand cut Maine potatoes and we offer them grilled and seasoned or deep fried and unseasoned. We have never and never will serve a frozen potato be it homefies... More

We had the haddock pan seared sandwich with fish hanging out of the bun. Staff couldn't have been any nicer. Very plain interior and very reasonable prices.

Home cooking, smiling waitresses, locals coming and going. Good omen, right? You bet! One of the best breakfasts we've had in ages! Eggs were light and fluffy, 4 large slices of bacon cooked crispy, but not hard, quite crispy homefries.....real potatoes. The coffee was hot and bold, and the cup was kept filled. Sorry we live so far away; we... More

While touring around Ellsworth, we stopped here on a whim and had a wonderful lunch. Fast, friendly service and the menu has a good variety to choose from. Stop in, you won't be disappointed.

You can spot a good restaurant by seeking out where the locals eat. I drove by this place very early one morning and noticed a bunch of contractor trucks outside. We returned for breakfast after leaving our hotel and the place was packed. Decent food and prices were reasonable. Great, hard working wait staff! Will definitely return!
