We recently came here for dinner. My partner had the Shepherds' Pie. Other than everything being overly peppered the taste was good, but the quantity of meat should be increased as well as the other ingredients... I had the Bangers and Mash. Again, a huge...amount of pepper in the potatoes overpowered the taste of the meal. The vegetables were frozen - not fresh and only lukewarm.More

We hiked 8.2 miles in Acadia National Park. We were tired and we were very hungry when we walked into this restaurant. Lots of people, nice atmosphere even though the room is not very big. They have typical pub food. We had spinach dip with...chips; clam chowder soup; stuffed potato skin; 'jammin blue burger'. The negative part was that we had to wait longer than usual. But I understand that they cooked everything well and it took time. Everything tasted fresh and very well prepared. If you are up-to good beer and good food, we would recommend this place.More

12 Beers, 4 Casks, 3 Ciders on tap plus the full menu and specials. Everything needed to get through mud season. Too tough to drive by without stopping.

The restaurant was good in some ways: the food, mainly. I was disappointed that my food took a bit longer to arrive than I'd expected given I was the only person in the restaurant when I arrived. The restaurant was full by the time I...left (and I'd been trying to avoid crowds). I did enjoy my chowder and my haddock. The wait staff struck me as a bit terse and dismissive, such as when I asked why the double IPA came in only a 5- or 10-ounce glass...apparently the slightly-higher-than-normal ABV is too strong for people to be able to tolerate a normal 16 ounces? The attitude was almost as though that was supposed to be intuitive and I was supposed to be grateful for my small $8 beer.More

Thanks for stopping by the pub. We home bake all our own pasties and pies, cook all meals from scratch so it does take a little longer than some places. But hopefully the end product is worth the few extra minutes. Pleased you enjoyed the...More

We stopped in here for dinner after hiking at Acadia. The place is very small, but service and food were excellent. The red ale was amazing! The strawberry rhubarb and raspberry & mint beers are worth a try. We love finding local pubs and this...one definitely didn't disappoint.More

Stopped here for lunch on the way to Great Pond Adventure Center. Burgers were great, nachos plentiful, and the fish and chips cooked to perfection. Lite batter crunchy and flaky fish. Great spot off the beaten path!

Great little English style pub with good brews. Friendly service with Phish and GD on the stereo. Food was good (vegetarian options) although a wee pricey, but for a brewpub out in the sticks of rural Maine, no complaints.

They do not have a standard reservation or a way to place your name on a waiting list…instead you’re told to come back in a half hour. In the meantime anybody can walk in a take the table that was ear marked for you. When...the server screams at you for asking if one of the two empty tables may be ready in the next 15 minutes…that’s a Restaurant that will not be getting my business, and I would suggest not yours either.More

Went here for dinner on a Tuesday. All seats in this little 7 table, 6 bar stool pub were taken. We debated whether to wait or go elsewhere. We decided to wait, and we are so glad that we did. We ordered soft pretzel sticks...with beer cheese, along with a local cider, stout, and wit beer. The pretzel sticks were soft, warm, and delicious. We decided to share a meal of steak and ale pie, which comes with mashed potatoes and peas. The steak, carrots, and gravy blended so well together, but the pie crust stole the show. It was so flakey and delicious. We got an order of sticky toffee pudding to go. This little pub is a gem and if you are staying in or around Ellsworth, you need to add this to your “to eat” list.More

Thank you for taking the time to wait and enjoy the pub. The steak and ale pie is one of my favorites especially with a stout. The sticky toffee pudding is an old family recipe from my Mother. Cheers

Excellent beer and atmosphere! We are locals and this is our year round go to place. Occasionally there are people “from away” like Debra W from Hot Springs Arkansas, who expect to be catered to and everything has to be perfect. These people complained about...absolutely everything and gave Christina a very hard time. My husband and I watched as they turned their noses up time and time again. Christina went above and beyond for them. And guess what? They didn’t even leave a tip! They actually went so far as to draw a big 0 on the tip line. So, Debra W from Hot Springs Arkansas, I really hope your attitude changes while you are here visiting....cause the locals can only take so much of that nonsense.....Relax, enjoy your trip, and for the love of God...TIP YOUR SERVER!More
