The four of us had dinner on a weekday night at the Whale's Rib. We didn't have a reservation, but it might be advisable. Almost every table was occupied. The food was amazing. We all tried different entries and of course, one of us got the delicious lobster. Everything was wonderful from the appetizers to the desserts. Highly recommend!

We stayed here so we also had breakfast. Each morning a different very special hot item was added to the ample buffet. Blueberry pancakes, Mushroom omelet + applewood bacon, Belgian waffles with that great bacon again. Each day was special. Service was superior. We had dinner one night and ate at the bar another. I had a seafood stew with... More

The food was excellent steaks were prepared perfectly and the appetizers were worth the trip to Maine. 2lbs lobster and seafood chowder were to die for. Will go back just toe eat if for no other reason. It will be worth the trip.

We were fortunate to be staying at the Pilgrim's Inn so were able to dine right where we were staying. The dining room is a historic barn-like room full of character. I had the halibut with lobster risotto and it was perfectly seasoned and just melted in my mouth. We were pleased with everything we had for dinner and would... More

Love eating at the bar in Whale's Rib Tavern since I'm flying solo these days. It is cozy and the staff is warm. Get the burger which is a revelation. The Cosmopolitans come in a carafe that fills your glass twice so it's like two martinis for the price of one. The ambiance is laid back and yet romantic and... More

We had dinner in the bar with local friends, and everyone enjoyed their meal, especially the seafood stew, a large and well prepared assortment of fish. The smoked cod and clam chowder was very good. The fish in the fish and chips were very good, but the fries were limp.

I dined here on our trip around Blue Hill Pennisula. This meal for my wife and I was unforgettable. The food was mediocre at best. The service was friendly. Overall, I'd rather splurge for dinner somewhere else.

Reliable excellent kitchen. Friday's fish and chips is the best ever. Halibut with lobster risotto is a clear winner. Good wines, great service, wonderful ambiance. Snug crowded bar

We were happy to be seated right away, by the friendly staff there tonight. Dinner was great. We shared an entree and a strawberry salad. Don't know where they got such tasty berries this time of year! Greens were most likely local and fantastic, as was the goat's milk feta. My halibut was served atop risotto that was seasoned wonderfully.... More

If they are offering halibut, order that, but everything is well-prepared and presented nicely. Good wine list.
