This is our absolute favorite Asain pick for Camden. The husband/wife duo knocks authentic & homemade noodles out of the park! The waitresses have their work cut out as the place is constantly humming with eager patrons, take out orders & reservations. The atmosphere is very chic, modern & airy-- perfect for this upscale seaside town & tourist destination. It's always safe to reserve a spot. If you're first in line when they first open, you'll get a table but otherwise the bar will fill up. People don't care. They're desperate to secure a large at the table. It's just THAT damn good. You'll drool just walking by the building inhaling the secrets of garlic stir frying with locally sourced meats, veggies & seafood. They try to support all the local farms first. They also boast a cute little specialty store for taking home their spice blends, sauces, rice blends and other hard to find culinary asian staples for authentic cooking!

Amazing flavors and fresh ingredients make Long Grain one of our favorite restaurants in Maine. We usually order twice as much food as we will eat just so we can take home leftovers! A few of my favorite dishes are the steamed mussels in spicy coconut lemongrass broth, their daily house made noodle dishes are all delicious, their Kai Soi curry noodle soup with local chicken, and they serve one dessert which you have to order...similar to a creme brûlée that is served on top of black rice....very delicious. This restaurant is so popular that you have to be persistant in calling to make a reservation (pre-covid) or to order take out. Well worth it though.

IMPORTANT: You must call the restaurant in the morning to pre-order you dinner via phone before they shut down their line once they are at capacity. The menu runs the gamut of Korean, Chinese and some Japanese specialties. All absolutely delicious with bespoke dipping sauces on the side. Be sure to order the scrumptious Wings and the amazing crab fried rice.

Long Grain used to boast fresh & local, but my $17 ramen tasted like it was packet noodles with a can of kimchi dumped on top, the pork belly just added grease but didn’t add much flavor. My dining partner got the Farmers Greens & Tofu stir fry, which was basically a plate of kale with some tofu in it. The waitstaff treated us with compulsory niceness. Long Grain used to be a favorite of my husband’s when he worked in the area 5 years ago, but when I brought my leftovers home today he was disappointed, wouldn’t eat more than a few bites. A major loss of quality.

One night we were planning dinner with friends living in Appleton. They recommended dining at home and order take-out at Long Grain. It was a disaster. First of all is it impossible to actually call the restaurant to order food. You pay over the phone (they ask for gratuity) and give you a time to pick up time. We arrived 5 minutes after and the food was not out (they put it in a cooler for you to take it out). Other people were waiting too who had earlier pick-up slots than we did. We had to wait over 20 minutes, wondering how complicated it can be when the only thing you have to do is making the food (knowing way in advance when it has to be ready) put in a bag and put in a cooler? At our friends' house we noticed they had forgotten two items. Great we paid gratuity in advance for bad service and mediocre tasting food.

This place is the real deal for gourmet authentic amazing Thai food! Have been disappointed with food options other than lobster during my trip thru Maine until Long Grain. (Pad Kee Mow and Multigrain fried rice were both excellent). Truly exceptional food for foodies! Only downside is that you need to call them to pre-order your meal hours in advance if you want dinner. No dining in and no takeout orders on site. Hope they figure out a way to do online orders as you have to call many times to get through to place your order. But well worth the hassle regardless!

Interesting & unique menu, served by smart staff. Quality of the food was much better than the usual. Staff is really smart, when I asked about getting a tofu dish, they asked if I was vegan as they’d make it differently. You pad when you order, then drive or walk by & pick up your order in “coolers” that have to keep the food out right outside. That have won a James Beard award! (No surprise, when you try the food!”

Placed our to-go order in the early afternoon (as they suggested, and we highly recommend) for a 5:15 pick up time. Order consisted of the Vietnamese salad, House-made kimchi with pork belly and rice cakes, and Ginger chicken with mixed mushrooms. We have been here countless times and every time dining here has had that wow factor. This time not so much. The salad was good, kimchi with pork belly was just an okay, and the ginger chicken was good, but the ginger flavor was not there. Maybe it’s the crazy COVID times we are in or maybe the high volume to to-go orders, but this time was average at best.

What a great find ! Booked a table for 6:45, but arrived at 6:15 to have a drink at the bar. Hostess was able to seat us almost immediately at a quiet table for two. This is some of the best Thai food we have had in years. I had steamed pork dumplings and a beef curry with white rice, while my wife had a yummy veggie and tofu noodle dish. Loved the spicy flavors of these dishes. Capped it off with a delicious shared coconut custard brûlée with a black rice sauce. Service was friendly and quick, and prices were moderate. Popular and busy even on a cold winter week night.

Takeout only, but that was fine with us. Phone ordering was simple and smooth, food ready exactly at the time we chose. We love Thai food even though most restaurants serve petty much the same dishes wherever they are in the US. But not Long Grain, they have original dishes and flavors, and all the things we tried were fantastic. Servings are generous, we had leftovers for the next day and made rice just to soak up the last of the drops of curry, Wish we had been in Camden for a longer stay, would have loved to order from them again and definitely will when we are back.

This is a popular place, so in case you would like it there, reservation is more than recommended. However being more than 15 times in Thailand, visiting more than a 100 local Thai restaurants in the country of origin, I must admit that Long Grain is just to aspire to be a good Thai place. It was strange to see that they don’t offer at least one dish with prawns and beef is only available in one salad. In any city or village of Thailand it won’t work at all … I have ordered deep fried chicken wings in a special sauce. Well, yes Ingot what I have ordered, but chicken wings were just KFC style and sauce was served in a tiny, small plate versus 10 mega wings which I got. Really don’t know why they save on this sauce. The main was a House Made Wide-Rice Noodle Pad Seaw, which was just OK, but honestly I didn’t feel any taste of an additive which in my case was pork belly. So in case you don’t know the real Thai cuisine, you will like Long Grain, but in case you tried at least once the real Thai cuisine, than you will be a bit dissatisfied

We heard about Long Grain from our friends and tried it out while we were at the Samoset. We had the Pad Thai, Chicken wings, and another dish I couldn't pronounce it had wide noodles. The food tasted great. It had great flavor and I asked for extra heat on my dish and it didn't disappoint. We asked for peanut sauce and spring rolls but I guess that isn't authentic so they didn't have any. :( But still great service at the bar where we sat and the food came out hot and quick!!

Long Grain is a total local gem and if I could give it a higher rating than 5 stars I absolutely would. The staff is always friendly, warm, and inviting, and the atmosphere is so charming. But the food is really where this reviewer loses his mind. I have not had a singular bad dish at this restaurant (and I have tried my fair share). Would highly recommend, however, the Pad Kemao - the pork belly is as tender as the wide noodle and the dish is spiced to perfection. Every time. I could seriously go on, but recommend you try it for yourself instead. We may even see you there.

We enjoyed our lunch at Long Grain. Not really Thai but nice dishes and great flavors. Service didn't seem to care initially but later when we were served our first dishes become more friendly.

First time for us inside the new space and we both really liked it! Service was excellent and by all means do call ahead for a reservation. Just plan ahead and don’t whine! Starters for us were the Moo Ping (tasty skewers of pork) and the Fried Brussel Sprout Special (who knew that brussel sprouts could be so good!). Entree for me was the Pad Ke Mao with Pork Belly (a wonderful dish and the pork belly could not have been better). My wife had the Gao Lao Nua (a large bowl of spicy goodness, tender beef, and the broth would keep bringing you back for more). A healthy pour of a nice dry red wine for the wife and I had an iced cold Japanese Kawaba Beer. By all means do make this special place a must dine!
