Main Street is quite depressed with many store fronts closed. Karen’s appears to be a bright spot. This is a diner, not fine dining (I do not believe such exists in the town). Staff are pleasant. The French fries were hot and perfectly crisped. My...More

Food is usually good, and the fish and chips was as expected - but the fish chowder was watery and absolutely tasteless. No amount of salt and pepper could give it flavor. Disappointing.

Great food, large menu! Was decently priced and the server was great too. We will be back on a regular basis. Karen’s will be a frequent spot for us to eat.

My husband ordered the scallops and wow - huge, lightly battered scallops appeared quickly. I had the turkey club - and took half back to the hotel. Good quality food - freindly but a bit loud in the pub area. Oh well, a good time...More

This is where locals stop for a great cup of coffee. I had the breakfast special for $5.95 and my husband had a western omelet for $6.95. Included coffee. Very much a small town diner. We were served by Karen, herself.

Here is the deal, it was busy. Coffee refills were frequent. Food was good. From the time we placed the order to the time we received the food - slow. Not a quick place to go for breakfast. But the worst part was fighting the...More

Love this place for simple but good Maine food especially the fish & chips. The taco salad is large, crisp and tasty too! The servers are very friendly and the prices are decent.

We stopped through Calais and chose Karen's for breakfast. What a delightful place! The food is great, and the atmosphere is cozy. You absolutely must try the grilled Blueberry mufiin - the muffin picks up some subtle bacon/salt taste from the grill and it is...More

Stopped in for breakfast on our way south after leaving New Brunswick. The food is worth a stop here, but be prepared for a dining room that needs some spit and polish. It's noisy, and you may be served coffee in mugs that didn't make...More

Left side is Breakfast & Lunch. Right side is a bar & grill, which opens later in the day. No brunch mimosas it would seem...
