My husband & I enjoy this restaurant but it is truly aggravating to be told upon calling that the wait is 40 minutes or longer and our name cannot be added to the wait list until we are physically there. So, we get there and the waiting area and bar are full so we are standing around for 40 minute... More

A beautiful fall day for lunch. Bright sun and blue sky. Excellent soup of the day, beets and carrots with cumin, and cinnamon. A great fall soup. The menu identifies any gluten free item with a G. The fish and chips are gluten free and excellent. Light, crisp breading using rice flour on the fish.

Our son and three Bates college friends organized dinner with their families at Frontier for parents' weekend, so 12 of us descended, and we were delighted! They gave us their private room, and we had a wonderful, festive space, good service, and a really nice time. I would go back for lunch or dinner anytime, but we live 3 hours... More

This is our first visit to the FC. It is situated in an interesting ehemalige mill. We had reservations (good idea) on a busy Sunday evening. We were seated promptly and the server arrived immediately. The menu is varied with diverse choices. Our party ordered;a fish taco, fish and hips, scallops, and ossobuco. Beverages arrived without delay, the meals shortly... More

Located in a great old mill conversion along the Androscoggin River in Brunswick Maine. This is a really wonderful use of a fabulous space, the restaurant is busy, a bit noisy, well lit with huge old windows looking out on the river. No signs outside make it a bit hard to find if you are new in town. Interesting menu,... More

Had lunch at the Frontier Cafe - this place is a winner! The restaurant is located in a restored mill building with plenty of parking. The seating area has a rustic feel and there are views of the Androscoggin River through large windows. There's a nice choice of craft beers. We had the fish and chips and the fish sandwich... More

While I continue to feel my original criticisms about Frontier are still valid -- too big a space, too noisy, I thought the food this time was special. The appetizer of Brussel sprouts (which were in season) was spectacular -- fresh, nutty and crisp. My entree of scallops and risotto was delicious and the piece de resistance was the rich,... More

The atmosphere of the Cafe is wonderful, nestled on the falls of the Androscoggin River right off the main drag going into Brunswick. I had the Arancini, Scallops & Risotto and a Brownie Sundae Dessert - all amazing! My waitress, Sam, was fantastic as well. Great with suggesting menu items, provided the right amount of attention and was very polite!... More

The place is located in and old mill with views of the river on 1 side. It is a large place with a good size bar and plenty of seating. There are plenty of craft beer and wine options. The menu is diverse with different types of food available from seafood, Italian, Mediterranean, and Mexican. Our food was okay for... More

I live in Brunswick, and go to the Frontier Cafe fairly often. Most frequently, it's the movies they show, and the good food that brings me there. They have movies there almost daily, and they are the unusual and unique movies I enjoy. For example, they showed the movie about the actual, real life horse whisperer (about whom the book... More
